American: There are a LOT more speculators and hedgers, generally, than those who actually want to buy or sell the underlying commodities.
Of course, the fact that so many speculators exist is a GOOD thing for the business people who want to use those markets though, as they provide a ton of liquidity, ensuring fairer prices over time.

As a former commodity broker, this is a welcome descriptive view, especially when most of us in the comment section either relate only to, or perhaps dabble in, cash settled futures contracts on products we… might not even want to take delivery of.
The most profitable day I had was when a container of cargo for a department store had no home and the container was probably running $550 per day and there was another condition that isn’t worth the typing, short story long, a warehouse and dock were the difference between several young men myself among them, being the difference between a many thousands of dollars each opportunity (it was not on skids, and we probably put in 19 hours that day).
If you’re a successful paper commodities trader, that’s a resume for many large manu’s.
Let’s all remember that revenge speculation is real. It’s not worth it, we just shave years off of our lives and quality as well. Housing, Crude, Currencies, Lumber, revenge speculation hurts a lot more people than the trader with a get even ego.

The Producer agrees on a selling Price, one year prior to the harvest. This is the Price the Trader will have to pay, then the Trader makes a deal with the buyer, this was original established to avoid changes in the Dollar. But 1 year is a long time and a lot of things can happen, so this is a risk they take.
So the risk is always there, with or without the trading of the financial market.

My highest respect for the traders. They create markets and accept risk the banks and insurance companies will not take on. They take on risk. Sometimes they make a profit. Others times, as two companies in this report revealed, they are forced out of business due to loses. Did you see how ethical these people are? No Jew lawyer contracts. They do business by verbal agreement and a handshake. They are trustworthy. Everyone interviewed was honest and straight forward. No one snickered, made a snide remark, or made condescending or smirking laughter. They want free trade, not government interference. I also respect investors in business. They take on risk. They create jobs and provide products and services. Many times they lose money and are forced out of business. But, they are trying to create something. Hard to break into. Must have family knowledge passed down.

Technology has permitted control of these markets by a very few people. Yes, anyone getting in is going to get rich quickly or go broke just as quickly. Some 50 years ago, our jr. high science teacher told us that laboratories has succeeded in turning lead into gold, but the cost was prohibitive. Has nothing happened in 50 years? I'd hate to spend $1500.00 on an ounce only to find out the process was perfected 10 years ago. Like banks, massive market manipulation translating to devastating losses is rescued by taxpayers, with the smallest investors losing everything while the big boys thrive. And yes, the Hunt Brothers in the US along with the Shah of Iran and others tried to corner the silver market in the 70's, driving the price up tp US$50/troy oz., before selling short and raking in the cash when the price collapsed back to US$5.

38:44 Well that's an oxymoron coming from thieving bankers/financiers because the added cost of unwarranted interest artificially inflates prices regardless, which of course always, always, always supersedes any supply & demand price fluctuation.
In the broad spectrum this is ultimately terminal -- firstly considering the sum of interest is neither created or issued into the monetary circulation above the sum of principal, thus making the overall sum of falsified debt purportedly owed to banks mathematically impossible to pay down, & secondly any rate of interest ultimately compounds the price or cost of not only the commodities but everything else eternally skywards.
Contrary to what the bankers/financiers are saying in this video the primary cause of any stock market crash is not by speculation, paper traders making wrong calls, big purchases or sales, panic trading or even bots, however this behavior most certainly can & most definitely will contribute to the escalation of that crash, which has always been mathematically guaranteed so long as we're paying any rate of interest. This is what you all have to get into your seemingly impenetrable heads at the end of the day.
Logically the next crash wont result in a third great depression but instead a *Second Greater Depression*. What is coming is only an extension of the second greater depression in 1935. Any purported recovery since then has only ever been artificially sustained with further irreversible multiplications of falsified debt.

We lend money to the banking system inflating the credit..
One inflatiin control is the govt siphoning off this credit creation by selling Treasury bills and rediverting some of the credot inflation into other industries..weapons, govt jobs, welfare economy etc..
The US treasury bills on the banks books are then loaned to these traders as collateral in the london eurodollar market and chicago money and commodity markets
Anothet force driving the demand for treasury bills is the insurance industry..
All have a facility to borrow money on treasury bills that dont exist...agreed to be provided at a later date..

Why not engineer environmental catastrophes, create a fake terror events and create a securities infustry.. Or even a fake virus with a fake test and make govt spending injecting money into the pharma industry...

And what makes this a beatiful fraud is we pay and ensure that this fraud is visted upon us.. the 99 percenter..
      Its a madhouse..
The only way out is to use our credot to reduce the US debt at the US treasury..

      eric girard
Yes, commodity futures are traded on margin. The margin requirements are set by the exchanges and may vary according to market volatility. Two types of margins are involved i.e initial margin and maintenance margin. In a typical futures contract, the margin rate varies between 5 and 15% of the total contract value.

    • @revo1jeff268

Yeah 3 million dollars is a lot of money. What he meant is that if there is a 3% drop of the price on a $100 million worth of a commodities then that would be the loss. So any small changes in price can have huge consequences because of the scale of the business they are conducting. So it is tough.

Need of the hour to help control inflation by bold move.
    How?
In my view atleast for time being stop futures trading without actual delivery of material. In other words if anyone buys any commodity online must take delivery in your warehouse/backyard. if cannot store dont buy.
Why? This will eliminate buyers/sellers who are just interested to make profits from the situation. but in reality they are pushing prices up just like adding fuel to the fire and common people are suffering across world....
In simple. Buy commodity if you need really with actual delivery in your backyard/warehoue. I am sure, this move will definitely ease inflation across world. ( for Example In 2008/9 financial crisis the then US president had temporarily banned short selling financial asests to avoid further collapse).
Hope new channels may conduct a panel of economists and do something in favour of world.
    thanks.
