Rylan Moore obviously but the teacher is more of a hero than the kid as he took all necessary precautions to protect them whereas any other teacher in that situation would just run for the hills and not defend the kids
Praying does nothing, stop saying things that make yourself feel good or better about your selfish inaction and demand actual action. Demand actual change.
The little boy must have suffered a lot at home from his brother's attitude and behaviours. It's a detail that might be overlooked but from the start you can see him be more attentive to the whole situation: he seems to be the only kid to turn his head when the first shots are heard, the only kid to stand up a bit when the teacher is trying to asses the situation, the only one to stay behind when the teacher is coming back from closing the door and of course he got out of the hiding spot later... All of this is based on the hunch feeling that he knew it was his brother. I like how this entails the entire emotional background of the boy sharing a house with his brother. Perhaps the boy even read his brother notes? At any rate, he was probably living in a constant state of fear and detachment (the film opens up with a shot of him pondering into blank space, whereas all the other kids seem careless), not able to enjoy life much because of this most heaviest of weights. It's probably the case that he expressed these concerns to his mother at the very least (not trying to blame her of course). Alas, it did not help... The point that I am trying to make is that when stuff like this happens there are almost always (many) signs, many so-called "red-flags" before it happens and the question then becomes: To what degree can we pay attention and use these signs to prevent such tragedies? Perhaps to even help the person who is tormented by such drives and thoughts? I think people should be better listeners and observers, especially the health professionals! It lies absolutely within our and their power to prevent the majority of such tragedies.
There are certain organizations at some schools that are focused on mental health. I'm apart of something called Lifesavers at my school. It is mostly focused on suicide prevention, but it covers so much on mental health. AkselGaming we had a lock down drill and my teacher forgot to turn off the lights
i hope the kids of this generation grow up seeing these type of videos and see how terrifying this reality is, so they know how traumatic and horrible it is for everyone involved. i hope this ends one day.
They need to show this video in every classroom
Coach: *whispers* everyone in the locker room!
Nobody:
Kid: CaN WE gEt ChaNGeD NoW!?!!
Me: with the GirLs in there? WTH KID?

IKR
Ikr
Kids in my school: "OMG! I forgot my sandwich! SIR!! LET ME OUT! I LEFT MY SANDWICH!
The kid saved their lives...what bravery!
Getting to the root of the problem is stopping kids from becoming shooters in the first place. Did you guys see that notebook? That was Dan's. A simple "You're loved." It changes you.
No ones even talkin bout it much in the comments...
Not really. It's ingrained in male DNA
The gym teacher: Don’t make a sound
The little boy: Can we change now?
Why is this sending me💀🧍🏽♀️
LMAOOOO
I THOUGHT IT WAS A GRIL WHO SAID THAT- 💀
Steph The One and Only OOP-
Your not funny
The other hero in this is the kid, “where’s your class?” “outside”. Thank y’all for the likes
Cizzx You can tell he is a smart kid. He thought quick
He was probably telling a half truth since people were outside.
Exactly
I was 1k like
That is alot of likes
This mad me cry my eyes out, I’m lucky enough to live in a place where this situation doesn’t really happen but I could not imagine how scary it is for those who do, my heart goes out to everyone who has to live in fear of something like this happening. The look on those poor babies faces 😢
I watched this a couple years ago and still think about this film.
About him and his brother- its an amazing film.
*Imagine if it wasn't Dan and that guy just had the same necklace*
Jersey Smith I was expecting the guy to look at him, raise his gun with one hand and shoot him in the stomach
thats what I was thinking XD I was like "nah kid that might not be dan"
DODODODODODODO 💀
He DEAD brother
Yikes
Coach: do not make a sound
That one kid: * Shits himself *
This made me laugh harder then it should have...
RpG galaxyslayer i would be that one kid
What is wrong with you? 😂
RpG galaxyslayer I literally just died lol
That’s messed up but you made me laugh more than I should have
It's sad that this happened recently.
I watch it because of what is happening right now on Thailand. RIP beautiful souls.
The saddest part is that this actually happens.
Rojus B yep 😣
And the worst part is that it happened 46 times this year, 2019
@@aylaphelan9486 whats even worse is its blamed on guns but the real issue is mental health
llamaman llamaman what’s even more sad than that is the fact that the gun companies blame the guns to make their prices go up. Because then it’s in higher demand and people pay more for it. The companies essentially gain and milk off these type of situations.
The Gaming Fox yep smh ):
nobody:
That one kid: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5,
That counting made it so much more intense
Ember I I know right lol
yeah, that bothered me...
the ending shot is incredible! sooo impactful like the children look so young, wearing their innocence on their little faces 😞
Impressive video, especially after what happened recently.
Reality is a lot harder and scarier though.
It makes me cry, and I don't even live in America..
the whole time i was like PLEASE DONT KILL THE GYM TEACHER
SAME I LOVE THEM
same he was so kind
IKR same!!
Same lmao
YEA SAME
The little girl probably counted as a way to calm down.
In stressful situations some people count as a way to relief stress.
She was counting the number of lockers he tapped with the barrel of his gun to see how close he was from her and the other kids
Jesse_sss
Maybe but she continued counting after they went outside
I do it I go
12345
12345
I thought she was counting because the coach was counting at the beginning and they were probably doing a relaxation exercise or something
@@jesse_sss6924 what? that would show a very high level of intelligence from her , however there's no way to know which locker he started tapping from, could've started in the middle
This brings so many emotions, another well done short movie, and unfortunately it is a reality with society nowadays.
I have had this in my "watch later" folder for a while. So sad this is STILL happening!!! More elementary kids lost yesterday. 😥
Imagine if the guy wasn’t the brother:
“Dan?!?”
*POW*
all u gotta do to survive this is call the quiet kid
Yeah I thought the same. But he’s the only person that had that symbol on the chain
Imagine if they used their ubiquitous cell phones?
off
That would be hella bad...
In my school the girls would be talking and crying still
Oh Yeah yeah saaaame
honestly, i would be just hugging the people that were crying. yeah I'm not really that nice, but i don't want to see my friends cry.
Oh Yeah yeah id be laughing.. not because i want to but because im just THAT girl
In mine the boys would be the ones that get everyone killed lol
Same story here
“When seconds count, the police are only minutes away.”
I'm just now seeing this, right after Uvlade, Texas. I'm heartbroken that it couldn't have ended more like this. Amazing teachers do their jobs, and it's still not enough. : (
