Speaking of mowing the lawn, my neighbor wanted to see how fast he could mow my lawn with his riding lawn mower compared to my push mower. It took him 15 minutes versus my 45 minutes. Ever since that day, he has mowed our lawn every time he mows his lawn. I haven’t touched my lawn mower in TWO years. He’s the definition of Minnesota nice.

Nate saying, "Yeah that's college, ya know," as if he ACTUALLY knew, was like when Michael Scott says, "Campus. Brings back so many memories... that I would've made."

Prayers for Backspace and his family!
Nate seems like he's the type of guy that unintentionally steals everyone else's spotlight whenever he's around. Like not only is he the main character in HIS movie, but he steps in and takes over YOUR main spot as well. This can be a lovable yet annoying trait, but I believe it's what makes this dynamic work so well. Animals absolutely have souls! Most are way better than humans...Keep up the great back and forth, it's hilarious, esp when listening to Nate continuously fumble through life in general 🤣

It's funny how Nate does not remember at all being given a ceremony and a jersey with his name on it, even though it was all for him. But "Bengay", who is just a bystander, remembers it perfectly and valued it as a special moment that he will cherish forever.

Nate: Here at Nateland, we want to create a family friendly comedy podcast you can listen to with your kids in the car.
Aaron: Your dog doesn’t have a soul.
Brian: We fed baby chickens to the soulless dogs.
My children: *sobs quietly in the backseat*

Nate!, I was so excited to hear that my brother got to meet you the other day at the Lincoln Memorial. Thank you for being so great to him. You offered to take a picture with him, suggested getting the memorial in the background, and then your manager even offered to take the picture! What a way to treat your fans! It’s hard to approach a celebrity so thank you for making that such a cool experience. You’re the best! I’ll email you the photo just because it’s awesome.

Tense episode here. I think the transition from Nate scalding Brennan for keeping the animal souls conversation going, to immediately listing the way his pets died is the reason I’m here. Gout plays a good mediator for you folks.

I definitely needed you guys today and you did not disappoint. I am currently laid up in a hospital bed after having surgery on my stupid broken foot and at one point realized it was Wednesday and it truly made my day knowing I could relax a little and watch Nate, Aaron, and Balderdash stumble through another episode. Also, I 100% agree with the lack of a sense of urgency in the workplace. It is my biggest complaint working in the restaurant industry. I am eagerly looking forward to every episode for the next 8 weeks as I will be stuck in my couch, showing no sense of urgency whatsoever. Y’all are fantastic.

I use to work at a groom shop and Bella was by far the most popular female dog name. I loved the names that were personal to the dog somehow. There was a standard poodle named “Phantom” because he was all white except half of his face was brown and it looked like a mask. Another good one was an all white English bulldog named “Pearl” or a brown dachshund named “Vienna” lol.

This may be an unpopular opinion but I think Nate is ENTIRELY too hard on his co-hosts. Bugle asks “how many different pets have you all had?” And Nate responds: “Why are we going back to the church?!” The question was completely unrelated to the church and could have gone in the direction of a new topic if Nate had just given the conversation time to develop. I feel like I’m watching Gordon Ramsay come from the kitchen to scold the waitstaff. AWKWARD. Lighten up Nate.

Once a goat got loose in my neighborhood. My parents, my friend and I all chased it around for an hour trying to catch it. At one point we had it cornered on someone's front porch where it proceeded to jump off my friend's chest and escape. Eventually we caught it by literally roping it with a lasso, a skill none of us possessed, but my buddy managed to pull it off with no prior experience. Some neighbors decided they knew who the goat belonged to and suggested we tie it up in their carport while they went to inform the owner. Upon returning home, they discovered the goat had hanged himself by jumping over their carport wall ... sadly, the rope just wasn't long enough. It was like a scene from National Lampoon's Vacation! 20 years later we still call my buddy "The Goat Roper." Funny animal story; tragic ending.

Concerning this whole "Oughts" debate. I'm surprised no one has mentioned the .30-06 (thirty ought six) ammo round yet. I remember around 2000 or 2001 referring to the decade as the 2000's and a buddy informed me that it's technically the oughts. I said it was stupid, like Nate, and then he made the correlation to .30-06 and it clicked. Getting others to see it from Aaron and mine's perspective is an uphill battle. But helping you educate others is always worthwhile.

Catholic here… Brian definitely drove past a Catholic Church when he saw the blessing of the animals, which is usually done on the Feast day of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals. The blessing is basically a prayer that the animal lives according to God’s plan and and thankfulness for God’s creation.
As far as souls, Catholic teaching is that they DO have souls, as do all living things, including plants. The soul is what animates us and gives us life. But, their souls are limited compared to the rational and spiritual soul which God gave to humans. At the time of death, human souls live on while, animal souls are obliterated and cease to exist.

I first learned of this podcast when Nate appeared on Flagrant 2 earlier this year. Given how well Nate nonchalantly shut down Shultz’s multiple attempts to catch him in the spin cycle, I thought for sure Nateland would be a chock full of intellectual insights. I mean, good night, Andrew and Akaash have the sharpest minds in comedy and you had them belly laughing with off the cuff remarks. After listening to every episode Nateland, I’m now left believing the key to combating cleverness is complete disinterest and utter disdain for every topic other than golf and Vanderbilt. Anyway, love the show and thank you, Bonobo and Aaron for the weekly break from the doldrums of corporate life.

The responding officer first tried pepper spraying the squirrel, when that didn't work, he literally used his service weapon to open fire on the squirrel inside the store. Hi Guys 👋! You guys are amazing 👏. I had to comment as you just mentioned tying our dogs outside when we were growing up and the "rich" people had their dogs on a run like a clothesline..... wellll, I filled out an application at the Humane Society apprx 15 years ago and they asked where the dog would be while we were at work. I was very excited and confident when I explained a nice doghouse and a dog run until I was DENIED!! I was blown away, thinking, don't they know how much I love animals?? Apparently, that idea was animal neglect. I was raised in the country but during a different time. Now I know!!
I love listening to you every week. I can't wait to see you live in Maine someday.

Nate, Aaron, and “Bonsai Tree” claim that to be intelligent one must be able to hold a pencil, while neglecting that much of our knowledge of the Big Bang and quantum physics comes from Stephen Hawking!
Love the show, only thing helping me make it through my Wednesdays at work

Going to have to respectfully disagree with Nate regarding the sense of urgency. Having watched all 66 episodes up to this point, if there's one thing that no one on the podcast should be worried about, it's a sense of urgency. Keep up the good work folks!

You know it's gonna be a fun episode when Nate starts talking about golf within the first eight minutes, Byron talks about death, and Aaron turns his back on Notre Dame to represent the Mudhens. Strap in folks, this one's off to an gasp inspiring start!

Hey Nate! My Boyfriend Mark and I found you when we first started dating, and watched your stand up special on Netflix together. For our first Christmas, I got him tickets to your show. Unfortunately, we never got to go because of Covid, but have continued to watch all of your specials, and now listen to your podcast. Fast forward to today, and we are now married and expecting our first baby in February. Mark is currently in Officer Training School for the US Air Force and will graduate in a few weeks. I know it would make his day to get a shout out from you on the podcast. You guys are the best- Laura. Ps- if we get a shout out, we will consider naming the baby after you.

Aaron: Is there a popular Bailey in the world?
Nate: I don't think it matters.
This exchange typifies Nateland more than any other. In fact, "I don't think it matters" should be the tagline for this podcast.
