I've been "cruising" around checking out various music creator's opinions and suggestions regarding samples, loops, VST's, and virtual devices, etc. I do this periodically so that I might exchange information, and tips which could serve well to get me and or keep me in the "Loop" so to speak. I say I am with you in your opinion of Splice. I guess it is probably my top choice for general purpose wave loops & samples, for the reasons you mention, and because it's quite inexpensive. In fact I had a monthly subscription that wasn't their "cheapest" but the next level it was about $20.00 or $25.00 around 2020 summer. In addition to the DOPE samples, & loops I chose to download, I noticed over time that I had acquired 1 or 2 hundred more either from the same artists, or extremely similar - at no extra cost. The $20 provided me with much more material than I could use, as I can do a LOT with just a couple loops, by processing, and or transmuting them in several ways via Ableton or Reason, or one of my synths which allow me to load the loops / samples onto the on board SD card eg: Roland MC 101 or 707 - I have an MC 101 & a Roland FA 6 also 2 Roland JD-Xi (Possibly my favourite compact synth) I can say with confidence, that The MC 101 and the JD-Xi in conjunction with a good DAW (Even ONE) - If one REALLY knows these devices well, which took me a couple years - is in fact MORE fire power than most owners realize and will actually use. I have Ableton Live 11 suite - Reason 12 suite, and Arturia Keylab 49, Microfreak, in addition to a few lesser performance keyboards - However, The REAL Powerhouse furnace (IMO) which I have is that I have 3 computers which are suited for music, specifically. Each has 4 core, i7 cpu base freq 4+ Ghz, 32 GB DDR4, SSD 528GB - 1TB each also has 2TB HDD - I purchased all 3 refurbished between Jun 2020 and Dec 23 2022. For under $1000.00 CAN. They all work Excellent. They lack all but 1 has just a basic graphics card, or any "Gaming" bells and whistles. I must have over 2TB of samples, sounds, loops, & packs - I also have Cubase 9 intro, and 5 "Free" DAWS - like LMMS, Reaper, etc which I seldom ever use. I must say that if you use REASON - A subscription to REASON PLUS (about $12.00 per month) is like Splice - but with FULL access to ALL the Packs (Refills) as well as a growing plethora of Virtual Synths, and VSTs that are among the BEST of their kind in the world...Cutting edge. Most users are surprisingly unaware, and or unappreciative of the full power & potential of that software. I've observed this time and again across RUclips and the internet. My point here being simply THAT. 3 Basic areas covered - A Good up to date: 1)Computer. 2)DAW & Plugin/ VST Software. 3)at least one Synth + Midi controller, a mixer. This is affordable to ANYONE with the desire to obtain it. (Approx $2000.00) give or take $100.00 - TOTAL. For a person who is resourceful, creative, and driven like a hacker - to really KNOW these technologies - This is more power than they will EVER likely need or use... (Average "Jerkin' Joe Blow" gets a device, He will ask "What Does this machine or software DO? He will read the manual "maybe" to learn what the device does. ( "Jack Da Ass Hacker")- gets a device and seeks to understand its functions, hidden and visible. He approaches it asking "WHAT can I GET it To DO FOR ME?" Will carefully read all available manuals/schematics, rendering the device wares "What S/He Makes of it" Adding value that is often inaccessible to others. Big & Vital distinction in attitude. This generally decides who is the BOSS & Who is the BITCH. Above all, it determines who STAYS Boss, as it reveals who - is on the Dick. (So to Speak) Anyway, Good video. i always thought that the actual art of sampling is being able to take literally any sound you can come across (be it a 10sec audio clip of some random tv show in the 70s or the sound of turtles getting it on, or bits of an old vinyl record, or whatever), and manipulate it to whatever floats your boat, and then fit it into any existing project of yours or build around the sample from scratch. Needing websites to download ready-made "samples" seems like such a cop out in terms of creative process, unless it's just for training/practice. that's like trying to paint a painting but only with 3 colors that some1 else gets to choose for you. am i wrong?
@@LMarquee I had been to cymatics before but I honestly thought it was a scam site because of how much they try to make you sign up. but since you gave it a mention I went back and actually signed up and the free library was very extensive for my needs so I’m happy with that 👌🏼

For musicals specifically? Your best bet would be RUclips, but they're probably not going to be royalty-free. Sample at your own risk or try to get them cleared if you can.
Hey Tracklib! From what I've heard about your site in terms of the quality of your samples and your features, yours looks like one of the best as well! The only reason why I didn't mention you is because I haven't personally used Tracklib as of the recording of this video. I'm definitely going to in the near future!
Y you leave out that splice isnt really royalty free if other people download a sample and dont edit it jus use the sound it its pulled if you try and upload to distributors

Not really. They both serve their own purposes. There have been hit records using "real samples" and loops. Relax and just make good art.
