Thanks for making this video. I wanted to do an oval PIP of me at the helm of my boat while navigating through a narrow bridge opening. This video gave me exactly what I needed. I'm relatively new to RUclips creation and DaVinci Resolve. I never ventured into the Fusion tab until watching your video. I actually did your example about 5 times to try to understand exactly what was happening. I have a basic understanding now. I did find it easier to move the text I had on the screen to a different time and then place back when done as I couldn't figure out how Fusion Composition was working with the text. Even now I can't even see the Fusion Composition if the play head is on text. One cool thing I did want to share: If you click on the MediaIn you can actually "Trim" where the video starts and ends. I've now upload my video and think the PIP came out pretty good thanks to your video. I didn't want to just post a link to it in your comments, but if you want to check it out it's the thumbnail that says "This gets chaotic". New subscriber here. Thanks again!!! BOOM!!!!!
@@whitsendmedia Good suggestion!!! I'll keep that in mind in the future. Glad you liked the video and thanks again for your to the point video. It was super helpful.

"In Studio they have a thing called DVE, it just does it for you like magic..." Me, having used Studio for 3 years and never known thing: "Right, so... me stupid then."
A hanful of steps but one of the only fudion tuts I think i can duplicate. Isn't one of the benefits of doing this in Fusion that it can be saved? I know you just click on one of the nodes, do they have to be grouped or anything?
To my knowledge I don’t know if there is a way to save the node tree in fusion. But I do know that for a fusion composition you can save them to your power bins for all of your projects in that library. And for the color page you can save the node tree in there using power grades. I hope this helps. Thank you!
Basic stuff, but so clear that you just earned a new subscriber
Even in basic tutorials we can learn something new. Well done! Thanks dude
No problem, thank you!

Checked out your video. Great job! The only thing I think you should add is a voice over. But besides that, good job! Thank you for commenting!

Is Whit's End an Adventures in Odyssey reference?
It is not. But I've had many people ask me that in person.

Right, of course… 😂
