What’s funny is they trained us at starbucks that the cafe was a “third space” for people!! Which makes sense because elderly people would come daily with their friends and catch up. So cute ❤ never knew it was an older concept. Could also be why we feel such a connection to starbucks 😂

I always recommend it to tennis people who haven't heard of it. :) Just a couple of thoughts: -I hope you don't get offended with people just taking pictures of you even without permission. They are not aware they're doing anything wrong. They are fascinated with Westerners, especially beautiful people like you. I was in an international class when I was living there and we have these 2 guys who are really good looking. When we went to a more rural area, they were just mobbed by people esp older women. It was hilarious. -Agree about the travel time to the tournament. I had no idea when I went there. It's like 2 hours away from the city center via commute. It was horrible. I literally stood on a bus for 2 hours going back because it was so packed. I wasn't able to finish the championship ceremony because people were rushing and running trying to get a taxi or a bus back. -Lastly, your fans are so sweet. And yes, the characters on the fan reads Morgan Riddle. :)

It seems like China has much going on where people come together just to exist together- in America you have to be drinking and everything is about drinking. I think that the loss of "third spaces" in the US has a lot to do with our high "crime rates" and a youth that feels they have no where to go. Thank you for sharing. Great music. Actually there is strong drinking culture in China too....Up North ...you are not polite if you are not drunk !😂 Shanghai is safer...The normal chinese...dinner for guest...starts..with a toast from..each person seated...so before you eat...you already will hv 10..Maotai..( 57% Vol ). Strange...but the a good liquer like Maotai....after 10 toast...will make you very high...but after eating I am OK...and no hangover...next day...

You're right, you don't see lots of people here in the US socializing like they do in Europe and Asia. I think a lot has to do with car dependency and zoning. US zoning makes it so that building these socializing areas is near impossible, and any socializing place either you need money for or a car to get to, and most people are too lazy to drive to these areas. I'm too lazy, after 40 minutes of driving, I'm over it. That and I'm scared someone is going to rob me.
I mean you could make the argument that French, Italian or Mexican food are better than Chinese food, depending on personal preferences… But Chinese food is just objectively much better than North American food and there is no if, and or but about it

I have been to shanghai more than 10 times. I would say it’s a very gorgeous mega city, and you girls make the city more fascinating for us.
