- ABOUT THE GAME
Subsistence is a sandbox, first person, solo or co-op, PvE open-world survival game. Struggle to build a base and gear-up in the hostile environment. Defend yourself from wildlife and AI hunters (who also build bases in the world). Progress your base technology for advanced item crafting and upgrades. Farm crops, raise small animals and harvest and refine resources to rise in dominance in the world. If you enjoy open-world sandbox survival games, resource gathering and grinding to build a base, you may enjoy playing the early access version of the game.

DISCLAIMER (PLEASE READ):
The public Early Access is intended for those interested in supporting the project and participating in it's continued development. You will most likely experience balancing issues, performance issues, bugs and missing features. If you are looking for a complete gaming experience, I would recommend allowing some time before trying out the game. There are many RUclips game-plays showing the current state of game. I am the sole developer of the project, which I work on in my spare time as a passion project. I feel this is important to mention, so that those considering playing the game can make a more informed purchase decision. Goals of the project:
The aim is to integrate the kinds of base-resource micro-management typically found in RTS titles, into a boots-on-the-ground shooter. Each base has an underlying economy of power and raw materials that must be maintained and expanded in order to rise in dominance. The focus is not of primitive survival (although there are many elements during the early-game), but instead a focus on the base, its security, technology and resources.

A note for an important update, rain will now put out campfires, so you will need at least a single roof up before it starts raining.

Thank you for your guides. I am just starting to play the game. I would like to note that on day 3 while fishing on EASY, I caughtt my first big fish, while reeling it in, an eagle came and snatched it up just a few feet from me brining it in. :(

I've actually seen a hunter on his way to fishing carrying his fishing rod. Was neat.

If you are a host in a co-op game is a ( Saves ) works the same way that in a single player?

I see you know a lot about subsistence what about the profiles. I have played normal on profile 2 for a long time, I was thinking of choosing profile 4 to try hardcore and if it was not for me going back to profile2 and pick up where I left off not loosing anything I had done there, whats your opinion on this move ? I liked all the info on your video...thanks
Hi, yes that would work as one profile should not affect another. If the world on profile 2 is old or well developed then it might be worth backing up the whole profile folder to be safe.
One change made in the A51 Update: if you die and log out, you can log in later and you will be able to retrieve your bag.
True. This vidoe was made awhile ago.
Critical one minor thing about Easy mode. The fortress hunter base will have FOUR hunters not THREE that come to attack your base.
I will try and check that but those numbers are from CG himself
@@00CRITICAL I have had 4 come and attack my base from the fortress on easy that is what I am basing it on. THAT is the biggest reason I now play with hunters off. 4 is far too much for me.
Could it have been a mix of hunters? Or maybe CG changed something 😉
@@00CRITICAL Given where my 2 bases were. There was no mistaking which base they came from as I watched them run in and they were all dressed.
The game looks nice but I’m not a fan of AI hunters/zombies/natives. I wish there was an option for NO hunters even if it means more wildlife threats.
You can set the hunter off or to not attack your base
