Having the Winning Gundam to hand, all I can advise is that you don't take the additional pegs off the arm funnels (just swivel them round to get the extra clearance, and don't worry about angling the arms outwards as the shoulders can already support that enough as it is), as it offers extra friction to stop the arms from falling out. The core flier also has a few more configurations too, if you're willing to experiment - which is the whole point of the parts-forming nature of it.
i like the star winning gundam, i love how it can multi change and has multi fire power, but the only downside i have with this kit is it gets losen up instantly, if your a collector and love to display, get this, but if your getting this to be played, you shoudnt, it is not a playable kit, its not durable enough to be played with
Eh, I'm fine with this. It actually offers much more than the average SD. I've built older SDs, so this kit actually looks pretty good aside from the poor color separation. Though to be fair, the color layout is much more complex that most other SDs.
An SD kit that can turn into a full Gundam figure. I was amazed when they showed this in the anime and immediately went to your review for this. Really cool kit and hope I can find one here!
This is a great gunpla channel my personal 2nd favorite gunpla RUclips channel although his voice is popping with energy he keeps the videos at a good pace and doesn't ramble making the videos too long.
I have to say, one of the features of your Build Fighters kit review videos I look forward to the most is the punny foreshadowing of the next kit you'll be doing!
in my opinion your review is the best among others reviewer in youtube. Great video, great presentation, very specific yet short. Keep up the good work!
It looks like the quality of the HGBF kits dropped after the Try Burning. Good ones tend to be the non-lead kits: - Build Burning - Lightning (Either LBWS) - Gouf R35 - Mega Shiki - R-Gyagya Meh: - Winning - Star Winning - G-Portent - and it looks like the Transient is lacklustre too... I hope the Crossbone and The End will pick up the slack for the HG line! I do wanna see the Star Winning as a well done MG too though!
Well Fumina's machines were never HG to begin with, if you don't count the GM Cardigan. The main issue is that just like in the show, people seem to have viewed Fumina's role in the team as being a 'rubbish' one. But I personally like this figure, and I feel the only way it could get the budget to give it better stuff would be to make an MG figure. This has plenty for what the figure was made to do in the show, and that's enough for me. The G-Portent is always likely to be viewed as 'meh', but I kinda like it myself. End of the day, it's a support unit, but I like how lethal it is despite looking a bit like a fairy. And the Transient has not got enough bright colours to be visually impressive, but I think that's the point. It has a very angelic design to it. By the way, if The End is anything like the HG Nataku from Gundam Wing, it'll be rubbish. And it's likely the Crossbone won't have it's core flyer the way it did in the show. It'd be nice if it did, but it probably won't.
Don't get me wrong. I love the Star Winning. I'm just disappointed at how the actual kit turned out. I'd pay 2x the current cost to see Bandai do a proper HG revamp of this kit. Proper parts separation, with clear pieces, a proper V-fin jewel, silver foil for the generators (heck, I'll be happy to paint it myself), an effect part for the Mega Blade, etc. All these little, but significant things they can and should fix. Fumina is actually my favorite character. A lead heroine with a proper Gundam to call her own! Not some mook custom suit that a side character (unless it's the Char proxy) is using. And I love the "coming of age" upgrade where she self-actualizes instead of boxing herself up into a surport role. She's got a great mother figure thing going too. Which is why I'm sorely sorely disappointed at the SD kit. I hope they do a proper HG revamp or a really good MG. Again, I really like the Portent as well, but the HG is meh. Fingers are still crossed for The End. The pictures on Gundamguy so far show that the Deadend Fingers only have one opening mouth. I doubt they can pull off the chest mouth. If the big arms have no weight issue (at least, nothing a bit of glue on the joints won't fix), it'll still be OK in my book. I like the overall design - except the cone helm. Makes it look like a dick 😂 I'll probably swap it out for something more angular, like one of the Wing Gundam heads. Virsago's if I can find it. Where the Crossbone is concerned, the core flyer isn't a very important feature for me, although if they included it as a separate piece that cannot be attached (it is, after all, only HG), I will be glad to display both together. If the kit isn't too bad, I might get 2 copies. While I like the Zanbuster and Peacock Smasher, I wanna display mine with the Skull Head knuckledusters too. Cheers mate.
Well, I actually like the cost too, because otherwise it would have cost me nearly £100 to get the whole team (as I bought the Lightning Gundam at the same time as my pre-order, but Amiami decided to send it seperately, so I had to pay two lots of import charges).
I think this kit should've been done one of two ways. 1, like you said, as an HG that can turn into an SD. Or 2, do what they did with the unicorn gundam, and make two separate kits, one for the SD, one for the HG.
just an option in place of the green stickers, there is glittered nail polish, and it does come in green, and should come out better than the stickers imo.
i think i will get two kits so i can use the default eyes and the happy looking eyes PLUS i can have one in SD mode and the other in real mode and have them next to my upcoming fumina figure i'll get this summer. thanks for this video!
***** Wash is used to bring out the details of a model or to weather it. There are many types of washes (Ink, clay, oil paints, acrylic, etc.). I believe Type V3 is simply using panel line markers that are made by Bandai. I picked up a set of 3 online for about $10USD. They work as you would expect. You can achieve the same results using a wash albeit with a bit more work. You typically seal the model with a clear gloss prior to using a wash to protect your existing paint work. Let the clear coat completely dry. Then apply the wash, let it dry and rub it off until you achieve the desired results. Before you finish the wash will need to be sealed with another clear coat. I typically use a clay based wash or India Ink wash.
William Hayden How I do my wash is with eyeliner and a tissue! Seriously, it works when you spread it with the tissue and if you have nothing else to use
I recently bought the HGUC Gundam f91 but after i built it i noticed that it's star saber effect parts do not fit in the hilt very well (they wiggle alot and fall out if not facing upwards) is there nyway to fix that without having them permanetly stuck to the hilts?
I never had too much of a problem with those kinds of stickers. I'm usually pretty good with them. But yeah the real mode is really lacking, and the fact you still need paint to make it look decent means i'm probably not going to bite, already spent a fair sum on markers for some other kits, i dont want to buy and wait for more for one kit. Are there any SD kits like this that you'd recommend?
Okay this is an unpopular opiniom but I REALLY love this model kit bc the green lenses aren't really that hard and Fumina hoshino SAVED GUNPLA BUILD FIGHTERS TRY
I understand your frustrations, however being developed initially as an SD and at that price point this is exactly what I expected to receive. To be honest I think too much is being asked of an SD Gundam with gimmicks. The real mode serves as nothing more than a piece to show you that it CAN be done, any real world functionality at that point in an SD would be beyond achievable.
Cant you put the 4 parts from the backpack to add on to the try burning gundam? I think you can do the same with the lightning gundam but I hope you can demonstrate that in a video
VirtuaReality That makes sense too. I think you're probably right. Lol. I just got excited cuz i wanna see the review of it already. Its been about 2 weeks and I haven't seen any review on it.
I'm totally agree with this and I'm skipping this kit and wait for the MG version (or maybe dreaming for Star Winning RG haha). It's true that this HG feels weak for playability... but it's more for still-displays. If this is made into a fully detailed Star Winning MG... all Green parts must be transparent and shiny... not to mention visible engines inside the hollow-legs, cockpit hatch and shoulder-armors.
***** Are you talking about this? gundamguy.blogspot.com/2015/03/hgbf-1144-star-build-try-burning-gundam.html I know there's another that uses all the parts that looks like a megazord
Question: Is the base + Bits holder (the clear rods) a product that Bandai makes and if so, what are they called? I've been trying to figure out where to get those for my many gunpla with funnels and bits and the bases + Bits holder look so nice! For reference, they show up at 3:37 in the video
You had me so scared with the problems, however my version doesn't suffer from the problems you stated, mine does however have a loose grip on the sword/gun
Hey TYPE V3 are you planning on getting the MG Exia Dark Matter or maybe the MG Double X Gundam? I'm planning on buying them but I want to know I'm getting. Sooo I hope you'll do a review.
"its junk" would be a great line for someone to say to the chick in the anime after seeing the jet mode XD nice little vid glad i waited to a vid as i would have been super bummed if i had this one
interesting. I was also hoping for the Star Winning to be under the HG line, but under SD, you only get so much. Speaking of SD, when choosing between the Winning and the Star Winning, which one would you recommend?
if you have the lightning and build burning then go for the winning. if you have neither or just one get the star winning. or, if your like me, get both.
Type V3 are you going to get the HGBF Crossbone Gundam X1 Full Cloth (ver.GBFT)? I ask this because from your gundam reviews, I see that you have the ROBOT Damashii Crossbone Gundam X1 Full Cloth......so are you going to get it?
:/ I really want you to review it, but is okay and also is not that worth it, because the ROBOT Damashii comes with more effect parts than the HGBF.....
Man that's a real shame, I really like the Star Winning Gundam's real mode. Looks like I'll have to hope for higher grade version of it. Anyways great reviewing as always!
Thank god I figured this kit only LOOKED good and this is a confirmation I'm just waiting on team celestial spheres kits to come (excluding gundam portant)
***** nah I might get the lighting gundam with the Mk2 backpack but im ok on the SD but I am getting gundam the end and the transient gundam 2/3 isn't bad
***** I LOVE the Portent. It's the only one I think which takes a machine built for maintenence and makes it absolutely lethal. Add to that the fact that it's the only machine built to repair itself when it sustains heavy damage and you've got a winner. Sure, it needs the others for cover while it's doing it, but as seen in the show, it repairs exceptionally quickly.
After watching this review, I just hope bandai don't screw up the Tryon 3. I have my money set on that awesome piece of work. Thanks for the heads up on this kit TYPE V3, It isn't an automatic don't buy, but I'll be thinking long and hard whether or not I'd want to get it for sake of completing Team Try Fighters.
You cant say this is suck this is cool and this is really unique to an sd and am a fan of gunpla and iknow that the other parts are falling cuz the other joints are really not fixed
Hmmm... Honestly, I think you're a little hard on this kit. It has multiple modi, through partsforming yes, but still. It looks cute in SD and in Real mode, with the transparent plastic being damn sturdy and good looking on it. Yes, it is a bit prone to dis-assembling, but frankly, so are the other SD's I have had in hand. Nevermind SD GaoGaiGar and King J-Der. Star Winning Gundam is my favorite SD Gundam though. =D
I think the big issue with this kit is that it simply wants to do too much in an SD price tag. it should have been upped to a HGBF with the SD Mode being the extra, rather than the other way around.
***** Yeah ! Review them all ! And also it wasn't obvious to me V3. I did not watch BFTry, I only watch your reviews about that shows gunpla. Sorry for not watching the show I guess.
it's ok ^^ I didn't know that those where all of 'em that's why I asked :) I also grasped a glimpse of an awesome looking kit at amiami (you know that site for sure) of a complete white exia kindish mobile suit, really awesome looking. :p
im still amazed when i saw this on the anime. i hate sd so when it transformed i was stoked! imagine this kit re engineered and redisigned to an mg scale i would buy it no questions asked. nice review as always typev3
Having the Winning Gundam to hand, all I can advise is that you don't take the additional pegs off the arm funnels (just swivel them round to get the extra clearance, and don't worry about angling the arms outwards as the shoulders can already support that enough as it is), as it offers extra friction to stop the arms from falling out. it has almost every buildfighter gundam available
I love your reviews man. Way to go for not sugar-coating bad builds. The camera work is superp as well.
This is a great gunpla channel my personal 2nd favorite gunpla RUclips channel although his voice is popping with energy he keeps the videos at a good pace and doesn't ramble making the videos too long.
Still sorta wishing for a HG winning gundam. It would be somewhat cool... Right?
Weekend Wifiguy yup fam
Great review, love the head core fighter and transformation. But it has its limitation....
Meadeslemicah It sure does!
Yea
Meadeslemicah it's an sd, what did you expect?
I have to say, one of the features of your Build Fighters kit review videos I look forward to the most is the punny foreshadowing of the next kit you'll be doing!
04Capati Thinking of those terrible puns are the hardest part of the review.
A lot of Build Fighters designs gain a lot more charm for me when I remember they're canonically designed by actual children.
I feel like this would really shine as a master grade SD kit
I'd really Like an HG star winning real mode, even if it doesn't transform it'd be better than this
in my opinion your review is the best among others reviewer in youtube. Great video, great presentation, very specific yet short. Keep up the good work!
I still await the mg dark matter...I hope we can get the review soon...

+Type V3 What process do you use to apply a wash to your kits?
+William Hayden I don't apply any wash to my kits.

TY FOR THE REVIEW..been waiting for this
MG of star winning? So when transform to SD its will bigger, isnt it?
bunnyfreakz Yep! Giant SD!
You uses markers for paneling, right? What do you use to protect the paneling paint? top coat? Which brand?
I recently bought the HGUC Gundam f91 but after i built it i noticed that it's star saber effect parts do not fit in the hilt very well (they wiggle alot and fall out if not facing upwards) is there nyway to fix that without having them permanetly stuck to the hilts?

That hint at the end though. important "matters." MG Exia Dark Matter confirmed. Been waiting for a review of the kit.
Your confidence amuses me.
I think it's more like im"portent" matters. Meaning the G-Portent.
Then again it could go either way...
Gah! What is the next review, Type?!!
VirtuaReality That makes sense too. I think you're probably right. Lol. I just got excited cuz i wanna see the review of it already. Its been about 2 weeks and I haven't seen any review on it.
I thought he was talking about the g-portent
may i know what standbase/actionbase do you use for this review ?
So question to custom makers out there, if you get this kit can you replace some of the parts with the RX 78 revive?
This would be great to do a customization of for Kamen Rider Ex-aid
I'm totally agree with this and I'm skipping this kit and wait for the MG version (or maybe dreaming for Star Winning RG haha). It's true that this HG feels weak for playability... but it's more for still-displays.

i guess one way to fix the issue with being back heavy is to add some form of weight on the feet like fill the hollow bit with putty or something.
Hi may i know what is the transperant stand called? Have been looking for it but cant find. Thanks!!:)
tanjengsiang joel Tamshii Stage Act 4
Hey V3 I'm wondering will you ever do that Build fighters custom where you combine all the Try fighters gunpla parts on to the Try Burning
warren lam Nah. I have no reason to. Also, that custom can't actually stand on it's own - it's being supported by a display stand.
***** Are you talking about this? gundamguy.blogspot.com/2015/03/hgbf-1144-star-build-try-burning-gundam.html I know there's another that uses all the parts that looks like a megazord

thank you!
alright i cant find it anywhere so i need to ask can you mount the SD's backpack on the try burning
You had me so scared with the problems, however my version doesn't suffer from the problems you stated, mine does however have a loose grip on the sword/gun
have you tries making the winning knuckles with this and the burning gundam???
The loose joint is sort of mandatory for easy transformation... Disappointing but it seem necessary to avoid breaking parts.
Hey TYPE V3 are you planning on getting the MG Exia Dark Matter or maybe the MG Double X Gundam? I'm planning on buying them but I want to know I'm getting. Sooo I hope you'll do a review.
would love to see a Exia custom into a Star winning (combining Parts true to the anime) could it be done?
How do you thicken the arm peg??
Thanks to your review, because of this, maybe I have to think again to buy Star Winning.
"its junk" would be a great line for someone to say to the chick in the anime after seeing the jet mode XD nice little vid glad i waited to a vid as i would have been super bummed if i had this one
my question is, are you able to do the star winning knuckle like in the anime with this kit?
Does the CS frame work with the star winning gundam?
u say it sucks i say this is the awesome gundam i have ever seen
What size is the balljoint for this head?
Is it possible to thicken the pegs? I really wanted this kit but seeing it so fragile really disappoints me.
krdecade47 I did thicken them a bit for this review and it helped a little bit. Maybe more would be better?
"Im-Portent matters" that was nice
So where can u buy these kits??
Hi type I was wondering were do u get gundam markers from.
Azriel Munns Everywhere. online stores, local hobby stores, steal them from friends!
interesting. I was also hoping for the Star Winning to be under the HG line, but under SD, you only get so much. Speaking of SD, when choosing between the Winning and the Star Winning, which one would you recommend?

Type V3 are you going to get the HGBF Crossbone Gundam X1 Full Cloth (ver.GBFT)? I ask this because from your gundam reviews, I see that you have the ROBOT Damashii Crossbone Gundam X1 Full Cloth......so are you going to get it?
Max ZX no.
:/ I really want you to review it, but is okay and also is not that worth it, because the ROBOT Damashii comes with more effect parts than the HGBF.....
I love SDs that transform like this
how about the part of winning to add in burning ang lightning parts? (sorry for bad english)
I can't wait for tryon3 to come out.
my biggest problem: the SD hip joints. if they had given it standard HG hip joints I think it would have been fine.
I feel like using the bb senshi unicorns skirt and legs might provide a little bit more articulation
a way to fix the loose parts is put glue in between the arm and gray part
Man that's a real shame, I really like the Star Winning Gundam's real mode. Looks like I'll have to hope for higher grade version of it. Anyways great reviewing as always!
Thank god I figured this kit only LOOKED good and this is a confirmation I'm just waiting on team celestial spheres kits to come (excluding gundam portant)

Need to complete team try
Master Grade! Master Grade! Master Grade! Can we PPLLEEAASSEE have a master grade!!!
EagleBot13 Can you imagine how huge an SD that would be...lol
Ziel Felix they're talking about a mg of just the real mode not the sd mode
If its a MG I would think it would transform. they've done much more complicated transformations so I wouldn't think it would be that difficult.
EagleBot13 Agreed, I hope that if a transforming MG is in the works,
Master Grade Team Try Fighters..........
that's a lot of effect parts..
This realy should of been an made as a HG not an SD gundam
Jetfire48 I do not like that Idea. It's more like hg to SD (downgraded) but SD to hg is like the SD being upgraded. But get that's me
Stephen Tay considering the HG form kinda sucks and a lot of color apps are stickers plus more articulation could be given to the SD if it was a hg
Jetfire48
hay jf last time I saw you was in diamond bolts comment section hhhmmm
I also had the same issues with the winning gundam......btw nice vid
Great review! Although it's so sad the proportion of real mode kinda of awful. I wish this will have a remaster ver. Or MG
You cant say this is suck this is cool and this is really unique to an sd and am a fan of gunpla and iknow that the other parts are falling cuz the other joints are really not fixed

Still think the winning gundam would make an interesting HG.
Can I buy it in the net?
Where?
Can you pase to me the link?
Hey people what do you thinh with one is the best: Star winning gundam or winning gundam ???
Thái Đỗ Duy winning
Imagine getting a real grade version of this
i wanted to get this but im thinking now i wish they used more clear green parts
Cool concept actualy and this is thr first of its kind.. transforming Sd to Hg
I would very much love to own this kit
Can it combine with lightning gundam and try burning like in the anime?
the normal winning gundam can combine to the try burning, not sure about this one
Are you hoping for the hg kit of gundam the end
Transient gundam
Denial gundam
Cross bone gundam ( full cloak )
The three zaku from team wolf
tarvez dixon Hes not hoping, all of them aside from the Zakus are already confirmed releases
I think the big issue with this kit is that it simply wants to do too much in an SD price tag.
it should have been upped to a HGBF with the SD Mode being the extra, rather than the other way around.
shoud be called sdhg
right?
have you seen the show?
Anyone else getting a Lancelot Albion vibe from this kit?
Will the anime ever be released here?
It's available officially on RUclips here. Otherwise, doesn't seem too likely
Matthew Bell It even has a sorry excuse for a dub done so amateurly.
Despite the problems It will be perfect for what I want it for (display) my only problem is the stickers are going to be the biggest pain to apply
buying it to take parts for a custom build
type v3 have a nice review. hope you will a lot review about gunpla that can make people jealous of your gunpla. thank you type v3
I did not see that one coming an SD gundam that can turn into a High grade..?
To be honest, the jet mode looks like some sort of Frankenstein thing that came out of a gunpla graveyard.
Wait...an SD turning into a real Gundam? That's fresh! Still you sounded disappointed V3. Any other Try kit you'll want to review?
Sir Saber If it wasn't already obvious... All of them.
***** Review all the things! Well, all the Gunpla
*****
Yeah ! Review them all ! And also it wasn't obvious to me V3. I did not watch BFTry, I only watch your reviews about that shows gunpla. Sorry for not watching the show I guess.
Oh no, sorry for assuming. I just meant that I've reviewed every BFT kit so far so it's safe to say I'll be doing the rest.
it's ok ^^
I didn't know that those where all of 'em that's why I asked :)
I also grasped a glimpse of an awesome looking kit at amiami (you know that site for sure) of a complete white exia kindish mobile suit, really awesome looking.
:p
The back of the legs being hollow really shouldn’t be a issue at all you don’t display it looking at a wall on the shelf
im still amazed when i saw this on the anime. i hate sd so when it transformed i was stoked! imagine this kit re engineered and redisigned to an mg scale i would buy it no questions asked. nice review as always typev3
Do beginning gundam or Mk-2 gundam review
I really really wanted to buy this.. I think I might, but that articulation though..
