Wonderful, wonderful information. I'm so glad you did this video. I have several pieces of fabric from you and true to what you are saying, there was no change in the look or texture in any of them after washing and cool drying. I'm very happy with everything I've ordered from your collection.
So excited with this video. Knowing for certain and seeing the differences really helps. I live in FL and have wanted to sew with linen but have been afraid of the stability. I think I can do this. Thank you from an always warm sewer.
2 yards is 72". No one is 72" around, so that is not even one size. Very little shrinkage, less that 3%, but if doing something that is close fitting, washing the fabric or caring for the fabric before you sew like you want to care for the fabric after you sew is recommended.

Love receiving this knowledge on these fabrics. Thanks so much.
Great info Peggy! Thanks!
Thanks for these tips.
this is helpful thank you!
Thanks!
Thank you so much for doing this Peggy. Just a quick question about the waterproof fabric - the wash and dry did not affect it's 'waterproofness'?
It did not. Beautiful fabric!
I use to always pre-wash and dry fabric but since watching your videos I don’t… I just don’t throw finished garment in dryer… no problems!
Do we put the cola cola in the wash with the soap? Or put it in the fabric softener dispenser? Thank you!
Exactly. She really needs to explain how to wash linen with coke. And what kind of coke - real sugar, fake sugar?
real coca cola.,.in the soap dispenser.....that is it. nothing else.

When ironing what setting did you use and steam or no steam?
steam and use your iron setting for silk.
What would happen if they were just hung and air dried?
I just have a quick question: is it necessary to always pre-wash silk before cutting out the pattern?
no, it all depends on how you want to care for your garment once made.
If it shrinks 2 inches in 2 yards how much does that calculate into shrinkage for a garment? How much would your garment shrink? One size? Two sizes?

I hand wash and drip dry all my fine fabrics
