One of the few Morrison fights I have not watched until now; thanks for the upload. Some good slugging in the first three rounds, and then kind of tit for tat for the rest of the fight. Morrison has a habit of getting caught with a clean shot when trying to corner his opponents but he did absorb the punches without getting knocked down.
I hate the habit he had of leaning on once he got close, it didn't seem to give him an advantage as far as I can see. All of a sudden it's arms locked up, his head down so he can't see what's coming and his chin is a bit exposed, I don't see the advantage in it. He got tagged a lot with little shots he couldn't see coming in that posture, very frustrating. That said he worked hard in this fight and showed his character and conditioning to get over his usual gassing out phase and go the whole distance. Incidentally I was a bit surprised that Griffin got up from the knockdown, he looked as sick as a parrot when he was on the floor.
@@danyoutube7491 Yep on that, your comment makes me recall the time that he knocked Joe Hipp down early in the fifth round and then tried to close in quickly again only to get hit with a stiff counter shot that backed him off and allowed Hipp to regroup.
@@godislord3377 There was a fight planned between Morrison and Herbie Hyde (Boxer who defeated Michael Bentt) as part of a double feature with Mercer vs Bruno on the same card, but it all got scrapped ahead of time.
