Thanks for the great video! My girlfriend and I are taking our 2 year old on our first ever cruise next year in one of these cabins so it was nice to see what it will be like :)
Glad it was of some help, and I hope you have a fabulous time. I always try to see what the cabins are like before I book. I like to know about the power points, the controls for heating or air conditioning or anything else that might be useful.
I mentioned it because we were not told on our very first cruise and ended up putting our toiletries into a supermarket plastic bag to disembark the ship. Very embarrassing.
Hello Lesley and Dudley we hope all is well . thank you so much for sharing the room tour inside the Ventura. you mentioned in the vlog that you can take a litre of spirits on board can you please tell us if you can also take on soft drinks ? Many Thanks in advance Sarah and Glenn.
Yes, you can take soft drinks on board. In the end we spent a little more on drinks, (alcohol, soft drinks and tea and coffee, I only drink latte), than we would have done if we had taken the drinks package with all of these included.
Thanks for the tour! We're heading out on Ventura in July and are planning to take some spirits with us - were you able to get Ice at all? I have seen an earlier video (pre-refit) that had an ice bucket in the fridge that the cabin steward would fill for you - maybe they have done away with them since.
Hi, Although we took our own spirits with us we didn't open them, so we didn't ask for ice. As it was an inside cabin we decided to go to the bars where we had some light and meet other people. There was no ice bucket in the cabin on Ventura, but there was one on Britannia when we sailed on her last September. We were in a balcony cabin on that one, which we prefer.
As we were away for only 4 nights, we didn't mind it too much. Some people always pick inside cabins because they say you only sleep and get changed in your cabin, and you can't see the size when your eyes are closed. It also gives them more money to spend with the lower price for the cabin. With us, on longer cruises we have gone for a sea view, which is the same size but has natural light coming in, or a balcony.
We were in this cabin in February 2022. The decor does look a little dated, but we didn't spend very much time in our cabin, just showering, getting changed and sleeping.
Yes, I do know that, but I am too old to take my own suitcases off of the ship. If you opt for taking your own suitcases off of the ship you have to manage them on your own, which includes lifting them in areas where you can't drag them such as over any obstacles. There is also the problem of the stairs to different decks as the lifts are usually jammed packed, and it easier if you only have hand luggage or small cabin type suitcases. My husband and I are unable to manage stairs very easily as our knees become very painful. What would normally take a fit person 5 minutes to go down, or up, a flight of stairs would take us 15 to 20 minutes. Certainly if anyone is young and fit I would say take your own luggage as you can get off of the ship quicker.
@@lesleyanddudley hi I completely understand for individual needs but in the video you said "you HAVE to give your bags over" so I was letting your viewers know, that isn't the case and they can choose to take them themselves if they're able. I suffer from osteoarthritis so depending on how I am by the end of the holiday we take them (always been lucky with the lifts) or get the crew to do it.
@@louisaL1980 Sorry, I didn't say that you HAVE to give your bags over, but I did say that they are always collected the night before. I did forget to mention that you can take them off of the ship yourself if you wish. When we contacted P&O before the cruise and asked if the crew could help with taking the main suitcases off of the ship at disembarkation, we were told that if we chose that option we would have to do it all ourselves as they would be too busy getting the ship ready for the next cruise. It also states that same thing on their website. I think, perhaps, that you have been very lucky with the crew helping you, and with the lifts, but I wouldn't want to rely on that on any cruise.
Thanks lesley, that's very sad that p&o are telling people this. I sell cruises for a living and go on them myself and this service has always been offered on most cruise lines
Thank you for this tour. Really helpful for our upcoming P&O cruise
Great tour - the walk in wardrobe was a really nice surprise - what a great size of inside cabin!
A very informative and well presented tour
Thank you Lesley, great video

Very informative. Thank you for taking time to share x
Thanks Lesley, some useful information. 👍
Glad you found it useful.
Very helpful tip about the overnight bag, thank you 👍

@@lesleyanddudley Ah bless you, I can imagine! We have not cruised before so these tips are so good to hear.

Many thanks, so informative and detailed
You're welcome. I try to include details that I would like to know when I watch something n RUclips.
Thank you for a very informative video
You are very welcome. I try to put into the video the things that I would like to know about the cabin before I book it, or go on the cruise.
great video
Hi, is there any plugs next to the beds?
I don't remember seeing any in that area. But we didn't try to use any there as we always used those on the dressing table.

I'd need a bigger room it's a bit clostophobic for me but the prices are so expensive upgrading..thanks for the video

Looks quite dated ?

The ventura is an older ship of the p&o line. You may prefer Iona
Hi lesley just so you know you don't have to give your suitcases to the cabin crew the night before you disembark. It's just a service they provide
