when filling up a new battery with acid should it get warm? i know it would when doing the first charge but i have just filled one up and have gone back after letting the fluid settle and is very warm and don't remember this doing this is the past
No problem just make sure to take it off before charging or using the battery. I like to leave it on while I'm feeling just so it doesn't possibly spill out the side.
@@ils360 thanks mate...cuz i added acid but didnt removed this cap, forgot it, and than before charging i was removed it, but i have noticed like air bubbles in battery, and i was worried is that because i didnt take it off red cap at a begining... thanks
@@strahinjicban4682 the little air bubbles are actually normal especially while it's being activated and charged for the first time. And is very possible to continue to see air bubbles in it it's just the nature of the battery. That's why it's important to keep the battery topped off with distilled water while in use you can prolong the battery life and keep it going if one of the cells gets dry it will burn up and destroy the battery

Depends on the type of car battery if the battery has AGM on them that means absorbed glass mat and they would definitely have a fiber glass mat type build. But standard car batteries I do not believe have a glass mat type build
@@ils360 Thanks for replying, though be it four years later. You didn't have to respond, but I'm glad you did. I gained some knowledge from your answer. I'll look out for AGM batteries at the parts store. I think I'm beginning to vaguely remember what I was working on at that time.
My motorcycle battery doesnt have liquid in it. And i dont know what will i fill in, solution or distilled. Can you answer this for me? And is it ok if i dont charge it after i fill it with solution or distilled? Thanks
hi, i have an amaron maintenance free 12V 9A battery for my bike, it got low once so had to give for charging but after i got the battery after charging my bike did not start, after using my bike for some time my bike charged it and was working fine, recently when my battery got low again the battery store technician told me amaron bike batteries have some issues so the batteries are not charging but now again its charging successfully in my bike, what can the issue be? i have tried many batteries stores to charge it and faced the same problem!
Varun lokesh most stores like AutoZone and O'Reilly Chargers are not designed to charge small motorcycle batteries and will normally destroy them I would definitely go out and buy yourself a trickle charger something that does no more than two amps
thanks a lot for you comment, my battery went dead coz my bike tail lamp was glowing all the time and drained my battery , now that i have fixed it i guess my bike will charge it fully and like u said if it gets low again il buy myself a trickle charger! thanks again!
i now like to use trickle "smart" chargers that charge 1 amp or less. if you only have a 2 amp i would only charge for maby an hour don't want to cook a new battery
+ils360 thanks I somehow misplaced my instructions for my battery it's an everstart es12n94b1 I was just curious as to how long this needed to be charged
+Logan Milliner the only time you ever need to cut down on the charging time is if it's a pretty small battery for like a 90cc or something like that but if it's for like a Harley-Davidson than an hour should be fine just keep a close eye on it and if it starts warming up at all shut it off :)
Adam Metz that seems way excessive to me I usually wait 30 minutes to an hour tops as long as it's not bubbling on its own before you plug it in it's fine like I said I usually wait 30 minutes some bigger batteries I'll let sit for an hour and then I plug them in on a low trickle charge no more than 3 amps for best results.
Really dude? 'Spilt' used to be the mainly accepted past tense and past participle form of 'to spill'. However, over time, its usage has moved to the more standardized form of adding 'ed' to a verb to form the past tense or past participle: 'spilled.
Hey, thanks for the video! Putting in a new battery for the first time (not technical by heart) so watching this vid helped me visualize it. Cheers
Just did my battery and it work like a charm, thanks for your help, it means a lot
Good informative video. Helped me out. Thanks. 👊 Appreciate ur time.
Glad I was able to help and I appreciate your comment :-)
Good how to. Didn't watch the whole thing because I already know how to do it, but I'm sure this will help some folks out
thanks =)

Omg your the one person who answered my question is it does have charge at first enough for a fish finder lol

hi do i replace overflow cap wile charging.?
Does overflow pipe need to be removed after charging
The overflow pipe wear that red cap was should stay installed during use and should extend down past your frame
2:46 he throws away the actual tube that goes on the acids container 😂😂
Correction it's at 2:36 is when I throw the hose away 😂
Quick question- I saw that the battery has voltage once you put the acid in, but does it have voltage before you put acid in? Thanks
Avery Alexander hmmm good question next time I get a new battery I will do this test and post it for you
thank you
Avery Alexander no problem :)
how long did you charge the batterie
Daniel Ramirez after I let it sit for about an hour I plug them in to a 1 to 5 amp smart charger and leave them plugged in overnight until the charger says it's full
always unplug charger from wall power before hook to battery so not spark and blow battery up

How about charging a brand new battery with a battery tender would that work or not??
that should work as long as it sees the battery and charges it =)
battery tender is better than 2 amp charger. slow charging is better.
Yes, a battery tender will work great. You are better off charging the battery slowly because it'll make less heat and lose less water.

Nice one, can now start the quad bike, shot bro
very helpful, thanks!
Perhaps you should have looked in the clear plastic bag (that the acid cane in) that contains the proper spout... but well presented.
ha ha ha it was totally in the bag I never noticed that before
+ils360 Cool. I've got to do a maintenance free tomorrow. You've given me the right info to get it sorted. Best

Thanks for the info
