  • The declaration by the council of Imams and preachers of Kenya (CIPK) not to support Prime Minister Raila Odinga's presidency in the coming general election has elicited mixed reactions from a host of Muslim leaders in the coastal region. Speaking to journalists during a press conference in Mombasa, the council of imams and preachers officials led by Sheikh Mohammed Khalifa said they have withdrawn their support for Odinga following what they termed as failure by the premier to respect the MOU he signed with the Muslims during the 2007 general election.
