Here's to my queen, Eliza Schuyler. The woman who had every reason to walk out of Hamilton's life but chose to "put herself back in the narrative" 🍺
I love her sm😕❤️
She was (and still is) beautiful in every way, inside and out and did so much
I remember hearing a little thing about Eliza. You hear her talk about how she tells people’s stories, but did she ever tell her own story? She did so much about Hamilton and the others, but not herself. Even though Hamilton cheated on her, she did it anyway. What a chad.
"Here's a glass to freedom"🍻
And after Hamilton died she still lived for 50 more years and she didn’t remarry
theres a theory that apparently at the end when Eliza gasps, it was a representation of Lin Manuel Miranda bringing Eliza to the front of the stage to show her that her story has been told, im not sobbing you are
This was done by every actor who replaced Lin Manuel Miranda, or every actor for Alexander Hamilton. Lin hasn't confirmed that theory though, however, I believe it's either the actors of Alexander showing Eliza their story was told, or it could be Alexander's soul or spirit showing her instead.
I always thought that it was Eliza dying, seeing that she would see Alexander again in the afterlife
I’m also not sobbing. I don’t get emotional that much during movies.
@@nateds7326Was it just me or did it look as if Lin was about to cry? 😢😢😢❤❤
@@StarseekertheNightwing13 yes he was! the movie was shot during the last time the original cast were going to act 😭😭😭
The saddest thing about this is that Eliza, bless her heart, she told everyone else’s story when they died. But by the time she did, no one was there to tell her story…
Until Hamilton
@@heidiclaire Real
I'm literally in tears at the gasp part. all the time, it always had been about her, Eliza Hamilton. she was the main character, the unsung hero. it wasn't Alexander Hamilton who took her hand, it was Lin-Manuel Miranda, who told Eliza's story this time. and he showed her that all of her efforts weren't in vain, and they meant something, and the audience is finally listening to HER story.
Why does everyone pretend Hamilton is about something it's not. Hamilton is the protagonist. Eliza is introduced along with the two other women with "I loved him", that's her role. It's about white heterosexual rich men
The bar is sooo low. A domestic passive forgiving supporting woman in the background singing about her love making threesome jokes with her sister and this is now some amazing female character? Damn so what is a bad one
WHAT WAS THE REASON?? ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Makes sense because it’s called Hamilton- not Alexander Hamilton. Alluding that this story was about a Hamilton just not Alexander but Eliza Hamilton. 😭🥲
Dang while watching this I just realized that a lot of people died and their story wasn't told at all and were forgotten
Yea it's pretty sad
When they mention the orphanage, I remember a comment I read from a person who was in that orphanage. Idk why, just brings back that memory.
Same I saw that comment and I thought it was beautiful
Can you share the comment? I haven't seen it
*I am currently rolling on the floor crying while my parents are wondering if I’m even their child*
It be like that sometimes
Oh, this got me.
Just replace “…rolling on the floor crying…”
with sitting in the car at 3am performing the entire album (a one woman show) as if it’s the last show that will ever be performed in the history of man, as if I’m fighting for my life…
Just normal things that threaten your position in the will.

3:14 This part made me cry so hard
Awww tnx I tried
in the last part. It was actually Lin-Manuel Miranda now and not Alexander Hamilton holding Eliza's hand and Lin shows Eliza that he was the one to tell her story.
omg wait I just realized that and it’s 2024
i think he said it wasnt
or it was up for interpretation
not 100%
For the gasp at the end i imagined a more complete end:
Eliza: gasps and looks around with tears in her eyes, first at the stage, then the crowd, then the stage again, and looking back at the crowd with tears streaming down her cheeks and a smile on her face, says "My story was told"
Can anyone ever finish the entire album and not be sobbing by the end? 😭
Yes. But those people have no hearts.
@@bluelanternkitty8324 …
Dang…I still think the ending is sad, I just don’t cry…
@@bluelanternkitty8324 the ending is sad but I don’t cry
Gasp Theory: Eliza is the only true good character in the story even though bad things keep happening to her. Her son died tragically, her husband cheated on her, their reputation and name publicly dragged through the mud, yet despite the affair she forgave him, then the man who took her fathers senate seat ends up killing her husband. Despite all this she quietly endured and went on to do great and selfless things all the while appearing to be a secondary character. Then at the end of it all as she begins to walk off the stage, Alexander escorts her back to reaveal the truth: She's the main character, the heroine, and the whole show, even the title, are actually about Eliza Hamilton, and everyone else, even Alexander were only supporting characters. It's really Eliza's story. It's a nod to all the quiet unsung heroes, the ensemble who put in all the hard work but never see the recognition or glory, but whom without none of the story could have happened.
this is very sweet and nice and if it was true i think it would be cool. but by definition she is not the main character. the story follows alexander for the majority of the time and the play is more or less about his story, only the other characters stories (such as eliza's) are intertwined with his
@@securitybureauagent3714but what if it only follows Alex for most of it to show what she had to endure quietly all the time, without ever cathching a break? Also this made me cry
Well put! It makes me want to learn more about her life, and maybe even re-visit the musical. (Too bad Disney+ won't release the filmed version of the Broadway release onto the Blu-Ray/DVD format -- they get to show it on their streaming service as a way to get subscribers, but after that initial window, it's off to the Disney Vaults until heaven knows when.)
MY MOUTH IS OPEN BC UR SO RIGHT ITS NOT “ALEXANDER HAMILTON” ITS JUST “HAMILTON” IMPLYING THAT ISNT ONLY/ MAINLY ABOUT ALEXANDER, IT IMPLIES IT COULD BE ABOUT ANY OF THE HAMILTONS (specifically the parents bc phillip is the only kid mentioned and he dies at 19)
spot on . in lins acceptance speech he says he told Eliza's story
The title of the musical was not Hamilton for Alexander Hamilton. It was for Eliza Hamilton.
As soon as Eliza starts singing.. I always get goosebumps. It's just so beautiful
I honestly was so close to crying for the first time in 5 yrs
Too bad yoiu didnt cry...you have failed in life now begine troll, you are now unworthy.
That last gasp! It’s stunning!
Man this got me bawling 😭!!!!
🥺🤗
I cried to this because history is important and this was a story that was worthy of telling.
i'll never stop crying over the private orphanage part😢
Omg this was my intro to Hamilton TODAY. I see what the fuss was/is about now.. this is simply divine. 👌
I'm not crying! You are crying! * sob *
I found this meme so wanted to write it here.
Hamilton songs as Hogwarts Houses:
Gryffindor-“My Shot”, “Right Hand Man” & “Guns and Ships”
Hufflepuff-“Schulyer Sisters”, “The Story of Tonight” & “Helpless”
Ravenclaw-“History Has Its Eyes on You”, “Cabinet Battle #1” & “Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story”
Slytherin-“What Did I Miss”, “The Room Where It Happens” & “Cabinet Battle #2”
I feel like "who lives, who dies, who tells your story" is more of a hufflepuff song

Strongly Agree
Like many people, i have a theory for Eliza's gasp: When Hamilton is leading her to the front of the stage, he is leading her from life to death, and her gasp is her last breath before she dies. Also, I love this video. I have watched it so many times before!
I agree with you, that gasp was her last breath. 😢
wow ! eliza was such an incredible woman. telling her loved one’s stories instead of hers, another 5 decades later she still never told her story, so lin did it for her. notes:
• i love how there’s an endless cycle of storytelling. alexander was focused on his legacy that he never told it, and not a lot of people did bc he was the least important founding father, so eliza did it for him. but since nobody told eliza’s story, especially her, lin did it for her. someone will prob tell lin’s story about him sharing eliza’s story of eliza sharing ham’s story. it’s very cute .
2. this gasp can be interpreted into many things. every eliza is different bc i’ve seen either reach out to the audience to reunite with alex in the afterlife, or gasp in shock of her story being told. but for phillipa’s, i think it’s solely based on these 2:
infamous theory: lin is not playing a.ham, it’s just lin himself, leading eliza to the audience, she gasps in awe and shock that her story has been told to thousands of people, thanks to lin.
OR, it could be alexander’s ghost just showing eliza’s ghost that her story has been told.
my interpretation of the gasp that’s not the OBC:
every different person that plays a ham is either still playing as a ham, or just simply ooc towards the end. it could be that an other actor besides lin who plays alexander is no longer portraying him, it’s just the actor now, (or could either be still in character, but as alex’s ghost) that lets eliza know that people have told her story, which leads to her being in shock. alternatively, again lol, if eliza reaches her hand out to the audience, signifies that she is reuniting with hammie in the afterlife.
started with a.ham, ended with e.ham :,) fly high eliza
Eliza does not have her story told in Hamilton. She did other things in her life other than simping, I know she must of, yet that is the only thing she is portrayed as doing
This song attributes all of her actions to simping for her husband, and makes them up while doing it. "Spoke out against slavery" did you Eliza? How did your family and your slaves feel about that?
As if I couldn’t sob any more from this sob 😭
Beautifully done. 😍

😭😭😭 I'M NOT CRYING YOU'RE CRYING-
I did 23 & Me. To my shock I was told I'm related to Alexander Hamilton. Thank you Eliza and Lin-Manuel Miranda for telling his story.
I'm not crying you are
*cracks knuckles* Time to cry over Hamilton again
im crying
Them: Who lives, who dies, who tells your story
Us: You lived, you died, (but)we tell your story
2:29 this part honestly just makes me sad every time, by this time most of her children were either married or died. And Hamilton was also an Orphan so that was basically her way of keeping her family’s lives in her heart. In my opinion.
We should be talking about Peggy
The Broadway Play called Hamilton didn't let you know which Hamilton's story was being told.
And the sad fact is that when. She grabs Alexanders hand and gasps is the signal to her death. It made me cry when I realized it watching Hamilton for the 52nd time
I don’t think that’s the real thing because Alexander in that scene is Lin Manuel instead of the Alexander character, he grabs her hand leads her to the front because she just finished the I wonder who will tell my story line or smth and she gasps because I think that he showed her that he is telling her story (IDK ITS A THEORY)
Missing the gasps on the OBC so much…. ❤️
This song is relly sad😭😭
I’m not crying you’re crying ):
Theory : When Eliza says "I rely on Angelica, When I needed her most she was right on time" she wasn't referring to Angelica making cooked Ham for dinner, it's Angelica dying and accompanying Alexander
Why eliza gasps is because lin who made hamilton told her story hope this helped some people ❤❤❤
I'm fighting back tears cause I'm in the back of a uber
💔💔💔💔🥺🥺😭😭😭😭
Sorry for making u cry
sorry but I prefer Phillipas, cause I don’t know what they did, but I swear they duped all the other Eliza’s because all the other gasps seemed too late-
😭😭😭
did she die at the end?!?!
Technically yes. But the ending is interpreted many ways. The way the cast described it, at the end Eliza looks down and sees this musical telling her story. So it’s kinda of acting out when Eliza finds out that not just Alexander, but her story’s being told.
No she certainly did not speak out against slavery. Look up the exhumation of slaves graves at Schuyler mansion, they were very poorly treated. Women were the mistress of the house.
I just came for The male voice
Whatever happened to Peggy?
She died
Vad actir
anyone know why eliza gasped at the end?
She saw what New York had turned into after her impact on it, at least that’s what I thought
I'm pretty sure Lin said it based on how you interpret it.
I personally feel as though she may have seen Alexander (Lin Manuel-Miranda) or she seen the impact she made. Because there was both a mix of pain and happiness in the facial expressions.
There's one theory that Lin is walking her out as himself to show her that her story has finally been told.
Eliza questions who will tell her story because anyone who could tell her story is now dead and when Alexander passes behind her that is actually Lin not Alexander and when he leads her to the front of the stage she broke the fourth wall she sees that the crowd and realizes that someone is telling the story that’s what the gasp at the end means
This edit gave me a migraine
Then why’d you watch it? 😭
why would you ruin this wtf
Bro stfu nobody asked u they actually made it better u just hating to be hating stfu
