Hi Ben if you're leaning I think it's time to go all in! Remember God's Word says: *For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away -1st Peter 1:24.* Everything in this world is fading, all things will wither and die, but not after accepting Christ, we may die once, but we will be in eternal glory with him instead of facing eternal separation and misery. Ben, God's Word says boast not of tomorrow for you do not know what a day may bring forth (Proverbs 27:1). Today is the accepted time, today is the day of salvation! (2nd Corinthians 6:2). The fact is Ben you're a sinner, (Romans 3:10) and the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23). Luckily while we were yet sinners Christ died for us because of his great love for us(Romans 5:8). Today Ben you can know you're on your way to heaven, the Bible says you can know you have eternal life in Christ (1 John 5:13). Seek him Ben, he is standing at the door of your heart and knocking. Won't you let Him in?

Ben, you will have to take a step of faith and step out on what God is revealing to you in your heart (That Jesus is indeed the unique Son of God). Prayerfully read through the gospels and allow God to give you the confidence to move forward. When you do take that step, get good mentorship to help you to maintain your faith.

Former atheist, take your time Ben, but remember to dont fall in the trap that christianity is only an intellectual exercise and thats it. Remember to try to actively seek God, ask him to lead you in your search. Talking/praying to God can feel weird for some in the beginning, but if he exists its the best thing you could ever do. And I have to add, he does really love you more than you know. Dying and suffering for you to be able to come to him was the most personal and loving thing he could have done.

Just before finding out WLC i was in a deep emotional search. I saw all of these atheist intelectuals and youtubers that were so confidently stating that there is no God and that put me in a dark place. So one day i just cried out to God asking for him to show me that there are solid ways to back up my beliefs. And soon i found William Lane Craig and his work which absolutely delighted me. Now i am learning about Christian apologetics and standing strong in my faith. Thank you Bill

What pushed me to do philosophy is the same way Dr. WLC got interest to philosophy. I belong to a loving Christian home but later began questioning the existence of God at my early age (around 10 years old).
I remembered my question was "If God created everything, then who created God?"
I got interest because of this philosophical inquiry in my life. I began studying hermeneutics in the early age of 15. I became a strong academic atheist for like 3 years. However today, I am now a theist who firmly believe in God existence and everything.

I was most impressed about how Dr Craig emphasisis the importance of free agency.
Free agency is a necessary act. To act or not to act.
    God used his free agency
We humans use our free agency in either a positive way or in a negative way.
Knowing which is which is the deciding factor.
For if we wish to know God we must first excersise our agency we must believe he / they could exist then want to know if they do?

    • @winterlogical
      @winterlogical 3 года назад

Well, I am not an 'expert' or a pastor or anything, but I'll take a shot at this :) I appreciate your thoughtful question and hope I can be helpful.
Pertaining to other religions or worldviews, I have no doubt that people have experienced genuine growth or moral development through them - so it's not that human words or words of other religions or words from sciences _can't_ change you. Of course they can! I know many who live morally who are not believers in Jesus. But at the start of your question, you ask, "What things makes us to changed our life 'RECEIVING' Jesus word in to our hearts?" Similarly, one of your last questions asks: "Is there any hidden information in the word of God that have not been revealed to us?" Perhaps it might help you to understand that the Bible teaches that Jesus Himself IS the word of God, so He is not hidden at all! If you read John 1, you will read, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." As you read the chapter, you begin to realize that the apostle John is writing about Jesus! Later in the Gospel of John, Jesus teaches that all Scripture was written to bear witness to Himself (John 5:39). You see, the Bible is the written word that points us to the one true Word of God. It is purposed to show us the one true God that has revealed Himself in Jesus Christ. So, receiving the words of Christ is not just for some moral development or to 'change our hearts', as you say - it is to receive and enter into relationship with God Himself! His words are radically transforming in ways that human words and other religions fail. He has saved us from darkness and sin in which we were enslaved and entrenched. He has invited us that we might personally know Him and have abundant life. So, this is why knowing Christ's words in particular is so much more important, because these are the words of God Himself. But allow me to explain why I trust that these are God's words over other human words or religions.
The main reason I trust Jesus Christ and His words over any other words is because of His life, death and resurrection. As apologists like William Lane Craig say, there is good historical evidence that Jesus Christ was a real person who was crucified by the Romans circa 30-33 AD. Whatever this man did during His life, after His death His disciples also reported seeing Him physically resurrected from the dead! They then began to preach about this God-man to Jews, Gentiles, and Romans all around them, claiming that He was raised from the dead and that He was God in human form. I think the evidence points to Him actually rising from the dead, as the evidence can't be explained otherwise. And if someone is going to rise from the dead, I'd think His words are much more important and worth listening to than any others!! And Christ Himself treats the Bible with authority, so as His follower I do the same.
I hope this helps. Only Jesus Christ is perfect, and as I just said, because I believe He rose from the dead I think His words are much more worth listening to. One last thing I'll say is that I personally have not found substantial evidence to believe in other religions like Islam or Hinduism or Buddhism. They are not sufficiently rooted in a historical event like Jesus' death and resurrection, and so because there isn't authority behind their words I do not trust them like I do Jesus.
And again, I hope you understand that you can live a moral life without knowing Jesus - but I personally believe it's because God's image, His heart is already written on yours and that is what you reflect when you reflect moral goodness or growth as a person.
If you don't find my answer satisfying, you can also ask William Lane Craig directly via his website. At reasonablefaith.org he answers one question each week. If you want to try asking him, I'd say go for it!
Blessings and please let me know if you have any questions!

First of i wanted to say thank you for understood me my idea and the information I asked with the broken English. English is my second language hopefully, you will understand me more. as long as I get the new information that helps me to understand the spiritual world that should be ok now for me.
Thank you for the time you took to respond my question. no doubt of that for me you are an expert.
the information you provided me and your answer to my question well detailed and articulated. I learned so much the information I didn't know before about how the " WORD OF GOD " and Jesus are equally the same. as you mentioned the word of God is Jesus. So, that was the reason his word is transformed us, changed us and helping us to understand the invisible world.
I just understood more that how Jesus and his word is alive today on planet earth in the time zone and in eternity outside the time zone. ( universe) however, man word such as philosophy, Science, Religions are just information. it's a dead word that cannot changed or transformed our life. it's not an active word that works in our spirit. The reason "MAN WORD" can't changed our life, seems the word is related and connected with our mind which is part of our soul. therefore, the word of God changed us because, it's has a relation and connection with our spirit? not with our soul? Because the unsaved people have a Soul too? now I understand ever more when the bible says " only the spirit gives life "
and Jesus said my " WORD " is a Spirit that gives life. So, philosophy, Science, Religions are just information. doesn't have the elements to change our life. It's not a spirit it's only information? If the information gives an eternal life the great scientist like, Darwin, Albert Einstein and top others educated human beings should have been alive today in heaven?
I don't know about their spiritual life. But, one thing I know is any human " WORD " philosophy, Science, Religions are just information. Doesn't give an everlasting life, its a dead information can't pass beyond the grave.
even though that helps us to changing our earthly life views to live successfully. So, only those are the one are who did receive Christ as their savior and Lord are Spirituality alive and have an everlasting life, because Jesus and his word lives forever. if any human being received Jesus word lives forever pass beyond the grave.
      This is what Jesus said.
"Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over from death to life." John 5,24
      Amen.
      Thank you.

@@InvestigadorTJ So long as you recognize that all JW doctrine is literally based on their own translation of The Bible (NWV), that no scholar of the ancient Greek language on earth (neither believer, athiest, agnostic), thinks is an accurate translation. They will not even disclose the name of their own "scholars" who supposedly made the translation.
If you can square with those facts, then fair enough.

Hmmmm... I'm sure WLC has seen the Milky Way at some point in his life, but it isn't something you can see unless you are in a very dark place, with no light pollution. I guess it's possible there was a massive power outage at that very point in time he claims to have seen it, outside his home in Peoria Illinois, but I seriously doubt it.

I can say that William lane Craig provides the grounds to establish a reasonable faith in GOD.. what each one of us must ask after is the question on what God reflects the attributes to the philosophical work that Craig presents! My personal choice is the Evidence of the live death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.. what comes next is what denomination follows the biblical teachings.. where I’ve gotten to conclude is a non-trinitarian view of God: Jehovah.

Dr. Craig, you should check out 'Stalker' (1979). Might be the greatest philosophical film ever, especially pertaining to skepticism vs. faith.

lol Sorry Craig has no credibility. I just watched the debate between Craig and Bart Ehrman where Craig was not prepared to respect the agreed framework of engagement and answer Barts questions. Yet he then evidently ran off to make 6 videos about Ehrman, and then posted them with the comments section turned off.

Bill appears quite content with his "reasonable faith" terminology.
"Reason is based on new or existing information."
Faith is belief in a Hebrew God.
I don't see any connection between faith and reason.

    • @danieltemelkovski9828
      @danieltemelkovski9828 Год назад

Well, you can have blind faith - in which reason plays no part and takes no account of what reason has to say - or you can have a 'reasonable' faith, which does incorporate reason. It's 'reasonable faith' rather than reason alone because if reason alone could conclusively prove it, it wouldn't require faith. You are, of course, free to find WLC's position unconvincing, but you would be mistaken to continue to insist there is no connection between faith and reason in his position.

I don't think WLC would have any problem arguing that aside from whatever commonality there was to their revelatory experience, the religious content of the two faiths is very different and that the muslim is wrong.
