- A little tribute to 1960s Doctor Who, and possibly the silliest thing I've ever done...
The Quarks have pulled together an elite force of the galaxy's cheapest aliens, to take over... THE PLANET EARTH!
It doesn't go exactly as they had planned...
Hope you like!
Andrew
The wobbly camera movements, the clank of a Mechonoid stuck in a door -- genius!
You know your plans are doomed when you have the Quarks as the least inept members of your alien strike force. ;)
Hey Chumblies are cool!
The Krotons obviously knew it was doomed to failure and kept their distance.
Quarks, Zarbi, Chumbleys and War Machines! The underrated monsters of the 60s! But after watching this video I can see why we only ever saw them the once! Great animation! Really enjoyed it!
I never thought I'd feel sorry for a Zarbi getting hit by a train.
Brilliant! And it's a prequel too, cool. Nice reusing of Hartnell footage from The War Machines.
What a lovely tribute to the 'not so good' elements of 60s DW. Great attention to detail with production mishaps. And you know what, all those knocks, bumps, shadows and unfocused shots that really did happen, I wouldn't change a thing the about them. Your tracking of the Doctor at the end as we approach the TARDIS was splendid too.
Amazing work, just so perfectly Doctor Who 1960s.
I liked the strings holding up the CG spaceships.
Very well put together and a good laugh too. Glad the Daleks came out on top.
Love the Mechanoid hitting the door.
I love this! NEW Quarks, Zarbi, Chumbley, War Machines and Mechanoids, plus wonderful settings for the "creatures"... classic flying saucers, the Daleks, TARDIS, (inside and out!), and The Doctor himself are all also present and correct - - well done, Andrew! ;-D
+MrSontaran3 Fabulous use of authentic 60's sound fx and music cues, also - mighty!
I like that little nod to the song Susan was listening to in "An Unearthly Child".
Bloomin' marvellous. Those pesky boom shadows...
What is a quark?
The Wanderer oh you are in for a treat! :)
Antony Gibbons What does that mean?
The Wanderer google is your friend Mr The Wanderer, google is your friend..
Watch the 1968 Doctor Who episode The Dominators.
Love this homage.I remember seeing the first series of Dr Who and being mesmorised , even refusing to go on family holidays until I was reassured there'd be a TV there. No video, no internet , the only chance to see the programme was when it was first broadcast .Now revisiting the real old episodes it can be in cruel contrast to todays slick production, but it still has it's own charm. This is the best fan based video I've seen in a long time! Absolutely brilliant! The little details are inspired, particularly those opening shots simulating the cameraman having trouble focusing and tracking at the same time and on an uneven studio floor. Even the automatic door bouncing back a little as the Quark makes it's big entrance from the dangling saucer. It really shows an affectionate love of that early era , warts and all. I look forward to more.
This is truly wonderful. I could not stop chuckling. And the graphics? Well done!
Your best work. You should be proper proud about that. Silly AND funny. A rare achivement. Well done indeed and thank you.
I like the Mechanoid trying to get through the door!
Brilliant brilliant brilliant. Bravo!!
Absolutely brilliant. If I didn't know better, I'd be sure that Richard Martin himself had directed this.
6 Dominators are cheesed their Quarks set off on their own.
Excellent. Loved the Zarbi and the shadows from the boom.
Wonderful! A true work of art, and love. It takes me back to my first viewings of the classic 60's episodes. Thank you.
Making this a prequel to The Dalek Invasion of Earth really sold it for me.
seeeing as how the Quarks here seem to be independent of the Dominators they must be the same faction the Doctor repeatedly fought inTV Comic
Not only are the Quarks independent of the Dominators, but the War Machine is independent of WOTAN.
Oh, I love it. Very creative and funny. Love the effects. The part with the Zarbi getting run over by the train got a huge laugh out of me.
The rippling and billowing of the cyclorama in the background was a nice extra detail, it could almost have actually been filmed in the 60s.
I think my favorite thing about this is I can tell the "studio sets" from the location filming by the quality of camera movements. Well done!
Genius.
You my friend should be making recons... This is awesome
Did a Chumbly just come out of a war machines ass? Amazing!
excellent work, you thought of pulling these talents to animating lost episodes?
If anything is going to rule the Earth, it will be the Daleks!! :)
Had to chuckle at the Mechanoid bumping into the doors!- We need a bigger spaceship!
It just shows that the Daleks are the best villain in the show with their only rivals being the Cybermen and the Master.
The Chumbley has the War Machine!
Zarbi in the underground!
Excellent work!
Beautiful!
I realise this was uploaded about seven years ago, but it only came up in my feed this morning. That was a fun six minutes, nicely animated with a nostalgic choice of incidental music. Thanks for sharing.
SOO many admirable elements: too many to acknowledge them all individually 😂😍👏
Yes The Zarbi
Quite brilliant. Congratulations, the wobbly camera and focus problems are spot on as it all.
Bravo! great aesthetic, attention to detail, & humour: luvvit 😍
an alien invasion that stops itself....genius :D
Brilliant. :)
Just stumbled Apon this ! Absolutely genius and superbly funny
Sheer genius. Best thing on RUclips tonight - for real fans. Zarbis and Chumblies no lees! I actually laughed out loud!
I remember the chumbleys
I agree. However, there was one huge missed opportunity with the scene where the Mechanoids invade the chimneys of Battersea. A collision between a falling Mechanoid and a Flying Pig!
This is really Amazing!
You know Andrew,This is a mini masterpiece...The Sugar puffs ads in the Tube station ( sugar puffs were running a competition at the time to win a lifesize Dalek in exchange for advertising on the early episodes of Doctor who, check it out in ' The Dalek invasion of Earth.) were amazing.
Great video! Well done :-)
My favorite scene is at 3:40, when the flying saucer starts dropping Mechanoids down the chimneys of Battersea Power Plant. I'm a bit disappointed because I was waiting for a Mechanoid to collide in mid-air with a FLYING PIG! :)
3:24
Looks like the weather is cloudy with a chance of mechanoid.
You can't say the chumblies are bad!!!
Ha Ha !! Dr Who, meets Monty Python :)
Wow you have all the monsters there!
Damn son that's some fucking good shit right there, gave me the tinglies down below
Capaldi dr who
Maybe you should have called it "The Quark Masterplan" but great effort!
Why have I only just seen this...this is amaze-balls! XD
Sublime
I love it!!!!
Would love to see you animated The Power of the Daleks.
These are just excellent Andrew utterly enjoyable be awesome to have the likes of Marco Polo Dalek master plan done by your good self fantastic stuff have you thought about a second to third doctor regeneration I know a few people have had a go but be very interesting to see you do it .
I’ve certainly thought about it… :)
@@solidbronze give it go sir I’m sure you do a excellent job
The Quarks are the Aliens that I want to see a new version in the Current Doctor Who.
Today with CGI , they could do them and make them interesting.
Only if they kept 80% of it the same and made a few tweaks there and there. I'd be happy with them returning
Brilliant :-D
This is genuinely quite incredible.
Quark "We gave it our best shot but the Daleks has to ruin it for us."
Its about time for a rebooted version of the Dominators and the Quarks
when i first saw title thought The Quark Invasion of Earth was that creature from deep space nine
Absolutely superb.
Cheapest aliens in the Galaxy ?.......Not sure about Mechonoids, they look even harder to construct than Daleks.
Dam fab pity i just found it anymore
Cool
One of the BBC novels "Aliens Bodies " has the Quarks destroy a Dalek Space Craft to gain access to a auction in which the Doctor Dead Body is be sold .
I think that was the Krotons - who really should have appeared in this video!
4:46 Sounds like he said “We are the bastards of Earth”
This is why you leave invasions to the professionals lol
Hahaha, I love stuff like this, well done.
So much better than modern Who.
Pretty certain the Dalek saying We Are The Masters Of Earth is a recording going galaxywide so they don't get more unwanted visitors
I knew that ship belonged to the daleks at the end!
I believe that the second robot is a mining machine from Frontier in Space.
Lovely animation :)
Fantastic
Now we know Odo was right all along.
Only missing the Krotons!
Now all we need to do is output this to a 405-line videotape, make a really grainy and noisy film telerecording, and VidFIRE.
( Seriously, if someone could do that to this footage it would be great!)
Genius
I do wish people would stop leaking footage from season 14! Looks like Ncuti's gonna have his work cut out. Still at least he's got No.1 to help him. But I think his biggest ally is the "Coalition of Evil"'s incompetence!
Brilliant. :-)
enjoyed.
I tought Quark was the barkeeper on TNG :)
Damn Ferengi
Could you animate The Power of the Daleks?
But these are all from years ago...where have you gone?
What did you use to create the spaceship sets?
You used a lot of material there.
Still laughing.
Wait.... Where are the Ferengi? More importantly, where is Richard Benjamin? .
Trekies will get that 1st reference, but only old geezers, like me, will get the 2nd one.
+tyro244 The ferengi wanted to come, but then saw the bill for the invasion preparations. Needless to say they saw no profit and are now scamming some other race lol
AHHAHAAHAHAHHAH
