PORR Germany: U5 city rail line Europaviertel . Working under compressed air

Extension of the Europaviertel U5 city rail line: During the extension of the U5 light rail line, the last few meters to the existing structure were safely completed in conventional excavator tunnelling. One challenge of this project is working under compressed air. The excess pressure prevents groundwater from penetrating. Special medical examinations must be carried out beforehand. And not everybody is permitted to work in compressed air.
