Totally rooting for coach. They’ve been killing it these past few years. Hoping they do keep with their current price point because that’s what people love about the brand - attainable luxury.
Of course they will not, they will move up and something else will take their place, this is how it works. As hype is not real, however their line up has been good for a couple of years. Look at fendi for example, they are crashing and burning, same for Valentino, so you can get those at a heavy discount now
Seriously. When she said the price, I was bracing myself because I really like this bag and when she said the price I was like oh my God I might actually be able to get this year. I could totally use it because the straps on my other bags are not doing too welland coach has always been reliable in my opinion so I’m excited to see how they go from here as well as the fact that they even launched something that gets the people going🎉
Coach has always been underrated considering the quality of leather, hardware and craftsmanship. But it’s cyclical. I’m old enough to remember when it was more exclusive, locked behind glass cases in high end retailers like Saks, Lord & Taylor, Neiman’s and Bergdorf’s. But it never had the cache internationally because it was an American brand. Then something weird happened and it fell into mid status. The quality never changed, but the exclusivity was gone. It’s good to see it making a resurgence because you’d be hard pressed to find better leather anywhere. ❤❤❤
I remember during the 90s (I think) it veered off to try and capture Gen-X ers who were graduating from college and entering the workforce. Instead of the old classic shapes and “wears like iron” leather it started doing bows, bling, big buckles, bright color, and I saw it everywhere. For my personal taste when I see something everywhere, I no longer want it.
I agree. Another brand like that is Dooney & Bourke. Both brands have some of the best quality leather goods, and a steal of a price point, in my opinion.
@@CassieThorpe Me, too. I have several classic messenger bags of my mother’s from the seventies, and they are still gorgeous. Coach refurbishes for you, and they managed to get an ink stain out of one.
It’s an accessible hand bag, it’s classic and will last. People are beginning to see that you don’t need to spend 10k for a bag. Coach has superior quality. I own a coach bag and it’s the bag that gets the most compliments! Not even my luxury bags get compliments. Coach is it.
It is 8 :30 am in Connecticut. I am up,dressed, and waiting on UPS to deliver this bag today! I love and own vintage Coach. I personally have not purchased new Coach. This bag just jumped out at me.Excited to style it.
I had never ever been interested in a Coach bag until this Empire bag came out. I can see myself buying it. In fact if they release it in suede, it's a definite for me.
So happy that Coach has this offering. For a bit pre covid some offerings felt like plasticky PVC and thin fabric imitations of LV. Sent me screaming away in search of more luxe leathers (hello Hermès and Bottega😍) Now, back to showcasing well-stitched leathers like the 70s-90s, Coach is remembering who they are while being more fashion forward and marketing savvy. Love this for them!💖
Love it! Will I get it? Undecided. But BOY do I LOVE this for Coach! Coach was my first job out of college. I worked at the Leather factory/Corporate building and witnessed the bags being assembled/repaired by their leather artisans. I was smitten and I believe that is where my handbag addiction was born. Needless to say, I spent a large part of my meager salary on the most beautiful 90s Coach bags. 😍
You are very lucky! Great workmanship for the money shows in those leathers. Those leather bags are classic still. My Coach leather flaps and bucket bags have been banged around since school and still look and feel decent and useable.
@@MissJIF I agree! They took such pride in the quality of their leather and the immaculate stitching. The employees were offered the "defective" bags for purchase at 25% of retail and you know we jumped on those!
@@islandgirl8740 You really got great access! Those defects were probably invisible to people so you got fabulous bags at a great discount. That's the best!
I love that Coach is getting the love it deserves again. I feel like so many people look down on Coach because it's an entry level/attainable luxury brand. However the products are great quality, prices are fair, and the experience in the stores is great. And TBH with the experiences and quality coming from the big luxury brands I feel like we should be a little nicer to Coach lol. The rebrand they have done is AMAZING and I just love to see it!
I wasn’t overly impressed with the Empire based on RUclips videos (also a bit put off wondering how many have been gifted as everyone, influencey, seems to have one) but I went into coach today and really liked the 26, but the 35 was only available in black and nothing was available to view in Merlot…also in that time I saw/hear at least five ladies came in specifically asking for the large empire in Merlot and being turned away…and then, because I stayed chatting to the SA about other new bags like the tabby and also looking at leathers, a manager came over and told me they’d opened a new deliver of only 4x merlot Empire 40s. One sold immediately, I looked at one, another one sold and then within 15 mins there was only 1 left. I have to say that for a bag I hadn’t liked on video and hadn’t been attracted to in black, the merlot 40 was breathtaking. The ombré/burnish looks so natural, the merlot is not so much red as a deep brown-red. And the leather is smooshy and yet seems like it will age well. Let’s be clear tho, this is a Margaux. They have also brought out a wristlet fendigraphy and other bags are essentially an affordable version of a luxury icon. I applaud it, I welcome the revival of Coach, and will probably wear more of the few Coach pieces I still own…and I’ll be taking delivery of that Empire 40 in Merlot tomorrow eeek!
Coach has ALWAYS been that girl. The brand has a huge following, but it comes down to its lack of exclusivity. You can pretty much get any bag they make at every department store.
Coach are an underrated brand but I think what makes them so great at as a brand is affordability along with quality. I hope even though they are introducing exotics and higher price point bags (which I did not realise they did) they do no loose what made their customers love them.
I am so proud of Coach for always reinventing themselves. It's the one brand I've shopped and will always shop...going back 20 years now. Their quality is amazing as a true leather brand. This attention is so well deserved. Like you, I am a blue girl. I'll take one in blue please and thank you! 😊💙
I’ve always been a Coach girl, I love that they are having this moment. Love to see more about Coach, especially since they truly offer quality pieces.
Coach is definitely interesting these days. The history of this company from beautiful bags to horrible C material bags everywhere to a definite upswing. I love this new bag. Would love in a deep green. I am with you. The navy 🙌
I agree. I still have some coach bags from the 90s and that leather is like no other. When they started making several variations of the C fabric bags that's when I got turned off of Coach. Now I'm waiting for them to reintroduce the skinny and chunky case small leather goods!
I've loved Coach for years! Quality materials, excellent construction and beautiful designs. I like the new design. It would make a great travel bag. Thanks for another great vlog! 🇬🇧☕🇺🇸💞
Love this video!!! I have always been a coach lover because of their leather❤️👌🏾 I have always brought luxury goods but have never been a person to say I love the exclusivity of it… because people will figure it out to buy whatever they want.. and also I love to see how different people style their items… as always great video and have a fabulous week💥
As someone who travels over 25 weeks of the year for work, this is the type of bag I have been looking for that the quality is there but is not too flashy where people will know I am carrying a more high end bag! I do have a a few insider connections to coach so I hopefully I can get my hands on a 40 in brown! Great video ❤
Coach is underrated. I got my first Coach 20+ years ago while in High School. Their quality is always consistent, even I am not fan of Coach, but I do owned 4 their bags.
Great video! In the mid 80s hen I was in college I worked at Macy's during the summers and one year I got assigned to the Coach bags counter....in locked glass cabinets, these bags were thick heavy leather. THE leather in dark earthy and rich tones....dark blue, the merlot, the black etc. They were not particularly feminine or trendy, but "preppy" in vibe, and they were quality items that would last you. The styles seemed basic and I doubted they introduced new or different designs with any regularity. A few years later the company got sold and the new Coach broke out to the masses with fabric bags covered in their logo (this was the LV heyday) - it seemed like TONS of styles and sizes, wallets were saturating the market. And suddenly a younger than me generation was snapping them up and coveting them which made me chuckle because they were a classic staid brand that had once only attracted older than 40something moneyed women. Then I think the market for them dipped and got mediocre, perhaps? I had no idea they were doing runway shows etc etc and had evolved in this way...on the luxury path. And yes, great to see that this bag, which is TOTALLY reminding me of their classic trademark pieces from back in the day is hitting for them today. Seriously, I can still feel that thick grained leather in my hands right now.....
So glad you weighed in! I’ve been lusting after this since the runway and even as I saw it gaining hype before hitting the stores I felt I would wait for the 48 in navy. Then we got the announcement how limited the larger size would be and I saw the 40 in Merlot. My all blue everything love went out the window along with my need for anything bigger. Bought immediately and unlike other brands where I would feel some type of way about everyone clamoring for the same size and color, I adore this bag beyond words. It is truly a hit for Coach in more ways than one.
She’s absolutely gorgeous!! I love her in black. Already got my navy bag coming from Coach Cassie ..lol! I’m adding a crossbody bag at the front and maybe a key chain. Coach is coming back big!
I am lowkey a Coach girlie, I have quite a few vintage bags so seeing Coach evolve so far has been interesting to watch! I’m not a big bag person, I don’t have a busy life where I’d need it but I can see how these are popular!
It’s a beautiful bag! Coach is also very well suited to this style, I remember the Borough bag ten years ago, was kind of just a more structured work bag back when the Prada saffiano tote was a huge thing. Fashion and economic cycles are so intricately linked, the same kind of bags (low key work appropriate big totes) and the same brands (Prada and coach) are back in at the same time.
I have been a long time fan of Coach! I have one purse from 25 years ago! I'm also glad to hear some talk about a more affordable brand. It's hard for me to want high-end luxury when I can get it done on Coach prices!
I haven’t bought a Coach bag since the signature tote that I had my initials added to it and matching wallet. The quality of Coach had gone down tremendously. I just have all of my legacy bags from the 90’s and 00’s. I ran to get the empire 40 in Merlot and Dark Navy and I can’t wait to get them!
I would love to see Coach back to making bags for grown-ups. I have always thought they were vastly underrated, but in the past year or two it seems like they’re aiming at gen z with their marketing and designs. I’d love to see them elevate and focus on making more classic bags.
I'm a small woman, so the largest size I would get in the Empire Bag would be the 35. The 40 or 48 would be too much for me to handle lugging about all the time. I'd look ridiculous. I have a collection Coach bags, a lot of which are considered vintage. For the price I paid, I got bags that have lasted me 2 to 3 decades. I still use the older bags, too, as styles come in and out of fashion.
I ended up getting this bag in a 40 size in the distressed merlot and it is amazing. I have luxury bags from YSL, Chanel, LV, etc but hate the price point. This empire carryall is solid. I can't wait to distress it more!
Prada also does a nice “burnished leather” jacket once in a while. It’s subtle but also I’ve always thought of Prada doing great with ombré in past collections like FW07 for instance
I think it’s so interesting seeing these trends and how they relate to people. For me personally I’m not a tote gal and these just do not speak to me and will forever and always be TBE and will go as far as medium bag vibies but to have a ‘spacious’ bag and with the look the Margaux and this new coach one coming through… very interesting I would love to see the demographic buying into this. ❤
I managed to get my hands on one Empire 48 in the UK. It is fantastic. Practical, sturdy and ginormous...or ludicrously capacious. The 48 is heavy though but you'd expect that given its size.
Oh what do we have here. Wow! I like the colors of the new Coach bag especially the Merlot. Hmm...I will have to check it out hopefully in store. This is great. Thanks Cassie.
I kept seeing coach all over my feeds, I went into the store to look at a Tabby 26, ended up walking out with an Eliza top handle. The leather is gorgeous and I feel like I’ll need to grab more coach purses
Definitely interested in the Navy and Merlot. In Canada, it's showing as available in Black and Brown in the 40.48 doesn't even exist on the website here! I'm excited that this is a potential new work bag that I can use everyday as opposed to some of the other "it" bags that are far less practical.
I have been on the hunt for a work bag as replacement of my Le Pliage tote . This looks viable as long as it is not too heavy. Thank you Cassie for the introduction!
I love it! Gen Z is going to go crazy for the Coach bag because it ticks all the boxes and they are entering the workforce. I sold an old Coach bag on eBay for cheap because I’m cleaning out my bags. It was soft and well worn but I had to let her go since I literally never wore it. I have a light tan distressed leather tote, Bonnie Cashin, by Coach and it has the distressed look the new coach has and the Miu Miu tote has as well. I won’t be selling it since it’s literally from 1960 something. Old Coach with exposed leather interior is fantastic! Also, reading your comments is almost as good as your videos!
I love Coach. It was my “entry bag” brand years ago! I had their diaper bag and used it for years as a work bag after the babies grew up. The Tanner Leatherstein guy has also said Coach is a decent brand for the money - similar to Strathberry. Similar brand is Etienne Aigner (now just Aigner). Very similar style. Been around for years.
I've been a coach collector for a while now and also bought other luxury brands. Their (retail, not outlet) quality is amazing. Especially the 1941 line. I love this bag but I would prefer this in pebbled leather with suede interior (just like the rogues), cross fingers that coach creates it
6:10 This is actually a release of their 2014 empire carry all ❤️ a guy by the name of JeromeParkerr posted a TikTok video on this with his 2014 version of the bag in July 2024.
As someone who usually Takes Public Transportation or my Bike the small bag Trend was Always very unpractable for me. I ve waited for auch a Kind of bag for some Time from Coach. I Hope for more bags Like this.
I think the shift at Coach has been slowly happening since this creative director took the helm. I randomly came across one of their watches in 2016 and was so struck by how nice it was that I actually looked to see if someone new was on board - he joined in 2013. Since then I’ve noticed them playing with design elements (like the burnished leather) in various offerings and knew they were going to make a comeback. Can’t lie, I was surprised that the pillow Tabby was such a big hit, but the Empire makes sense to me.
Thank you for mentioning Coach! I became a fan earlier this year and I LOVE the quality! I have a pair of the ice blue Leah loafers that I wear practically every day. This level of luxury I can actually afford ❤ Also I desperately want a Merlot bag!
Totally rooting for coach. They’ve been killing it these past few years. Hoping they do keep with their current price point because that’s what people love about the brand - attainable luxury.

My big bags are purely for travel so I get that 💖
I got a Tabby 26 in chalk for the summer. It was my first Coach bag in years and I love it! I’m thinking of getting a black one for fall/winter.
I managed to get my hands on one Empire 48 in the UK. It is fantastic. Practical, sturdy and ginormous...or ludicrously capacious. The 48 is heavy though but you'd expect that given its size.
I love coach great quality and price point. I bought the tabby pillow bag it's one of my favorites ❤❤
Love to see it! The Margaux is such a simple bag, it was bound to be overtaken by something with a better price point!
Oh what do we have here. Wow! I like the colors of the new Coach bag especially the Merlot. Hmm...I will have to check it out hopefully in store. This is great. Thanks Cassie.
It really gives a Metier Private Eye bag vibe!
I kept seeing coach all over my feeds, I went into the store to look at a Tabby 26, ended up walking out with an Eliza top handle. The leather is gorgeous and I feel like I’ll need to grab more coach purses
I’ve been eying at this bag for some days!! Debating on the color, I love the blue and the Merlot!
Oh the Navy burnished is THE BEST! I’d beat the crap out if it, too! ❤❤
Good for Coach! They have had great bags forever! Classic brand. ❤
Also, reading your comments is almost as good as your videos!
coach is pivoting! as a lux connoisseur, I have noticed with they have been doing!
I love this bag but I would prefer this in pebbled leather with suede interior (just like the rogues), cross fingers that coach creates it
Love the tan distressed! Great job Coach!
Interesting bag however I just saw the new Aspinal Hudson tote and I think that looks better 🥰
I have my Coach Tabby classic bag and I love it! ❤️❤️❤️ like the new one though 👀
Coach has always been a favorite of mine. I have to agree, the Navy is my pick.
A purse with feet is like a dress with pockets - “Oh, like your purse”…”Thanks, it has feet” 😂
I've been seeing this bag a lot this past week and needless to say I was obsessed from the first time I saw it-
We watched Jane and Chee with the bag and love it!!!
6:10 This is actually a release of their 2014 empire carry all ❤️ a guy by the name of JeromeParkerr posted a TikTok video on this with his 2014 version of the bag in July 2024.
Just got the 40 in Merlot. It's beautiful in person.
I want the 48 in merlot. Didn’t realize it was so limited! 😌 it’s so gorgeous.
Love this video Cassie! I have always enjoyed listening to your reviews!
I said it reminds me of the Margaux! But love the gorgeous Merlot color
Definitely hoping they restock because, like you, I’m a blue girls and I neeeeeed a larger navy bag 💙💙💙
As someone who usually Takes Public Transportation or my Bike the small bag Trend was Always very unpractable for me. I ve waited for auch a Kind of bag for some Time from Coach. I Hope for more bags Like this.
In love with this bag! Especially with the charms 🍎😍
Cos has a similar version… also sold out😭 but very nice
Navy is so overlooked 😊
Oh Cassie you had me LOL with your bad boy attraction analogy🤣😂
🤭🤭
Cassie.....I DO adore your videos!! The drescipts are fab!
I like many of the coach bags and some are realy good quality. So they show up the luxury brands and I really like that
Thank you for mentioning Coach! I became a fan earlier this year and I LOVE the quality! I have a pair of the ice blue Leah loafers that I wear practically every day. This level of luxury I can actually afford ❤
Also I desperately want a Merlot bag!
I LOOOOOVE this bag in the 40 or the biggest one. please do a feature on the trending coach quilted tabby and the Coach Madison bags. Thank you 😘😘😘
Only 3 min in,and i know it already:” I NEED THIS BAG!!✌️🤗😂
