Welcome to a special exclusive video of a super good classical Orion V!
I've finally caught an Orion V, well-known popularly by the transit community, that as a transit fan, I should fan it at least one given how good these buses are. This bus features John Deere 6081H engines and Allison B400R transmission, in which it sounds super good and throaty! 338 is one of the units that are noticeably loud, and this ride I got had no HVAC on!
I included some pictures of the interior of the bus at the beginning of the video, and eventually this batch of buses should be going away very soon! Like the AC Transit Van Hools A300Ls, they are not really needed anymore in the fleet, as there are enough replacements for them. This might be my only time catching one, but if I do get another catch, I'll definitely to make a video out of it!

I remember riding the CNG converted Santa Cruz Orion V back in 2016! I was fortunate to catch it on the last rush hour run! Riding John Deere engine was unique. They are slow in takeoff but I've told they are more reliable than Series 50G!

I will definitely miss these when they retire these the last remaining orion v cngs these are like heritage to many orion v cngs that haven't been saved from scrap and one is indeed a 5000th unit built as the final unit. Shame I haven't been able to ride this.
