I too am old. 76. Had to give up the real cars and now entertaining myself with little ones. I worked in the automotive industry for fifty years. Two global manufactures, Most of my work was in engineering and product planning. I have never heard of two different final drive ratio's in a four wheel drive product. I am not sure why this is even a thing in RC! So when someone figures it out I would love to know. Now, about your video. It is really good!! The only one I found on RUclips about the actual axle components and not just about replacing the whole thing. So thank you very much, I have subscribed and will follow you now. Good job!

@raquaro1 Thank you for your comment ,compliments on the video and the follow I greatly appreciate it!! I have several builds coming up that will involve similar subject matter on axles, I plan on providing a better explanation of the reasoning behind the upgraded worm gear on the front and not the rear axle. Again THANK YOU!!

why would you want-more top end speed w overdrive gears??
for a rock crawler you need more torque.
slower top end will give more torque inversely.
if you're thinking in terms of competition, then fine...
but I crawl for fun. at 79yo if I wake up tomorrow, I've already won my game.
got 3 orders from diff online suppliers w upgrades for my fleet of 4 SCX24 dirt throwin, mud slingin, trash bashin cool little trucks and jeep. can't wait till they come out with something I absolutely must have in my collection....... 🤓

@craigbruce2530 First off, thank you for your comment. To be honest, I haven't had much feedback on any of my videos, and to see yours made my day, thank you!
After up grading the worm gear, I can say I really didn't see that much difference in performance one way or the other. At 53, my eyes aren't as keen as they used to be.
I haven't run anything in competition. The rules are always changing, and most comp runs around Kansas City are always 1/10 scale.
I now feel that a new video is in order with more detail on different sizes of overdrive gears, pros, and cons.
Again, thank you for your input and inspiration. I greatly appreciate it!!!
