Because he did his own thing and probably learned on his own through trial and error instead of playing like a teacher taught him from lessons that a teacher paid to learn. They get jealous if you don't learn proper technique. Well technical music sux and then all you get is "pop". Music should be new and different and not just a lesson learned from vocals to instruments. Try the not "already been done" bullshit and basic is not a bad thing.
Great lesson and one of the Crues best tunes. A few song's I can think of for bass line's would be Santana - Open Invitation U.F.O. - Light's Out W.A.S.P. - Crimson Idol Flotsam and Jetsoms version of Elton John's - Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting.
I have a dumb noob question. I understand the tabs just fine, but at the start when you show what each string should be tuned to, is that also upside down? I usually just play in whatever the music store tunes my bass to, not understanding notes and so on, very low level beginner.
