The hypopharynx is a short, median, tongue like chitinous structure located in front of the labium and between the two maxillae. The salivary gland opens at or near its base. it directs the saliva to the food.
is ligula means tongues of insects?? i wanna know about detailed mouth part of ant and mantis, like how many tongues they have.... how or where can i find information of them? if you know, notice me please.
Ants have mouth parts similar to wasps (shown in a picture in the video) with prominent strong mandibles. Mantids have biting and chewing mouth parts like grasshoppers. Ligula is part of maxilla it is not equivalent to the tongue. Hypopharynx is like a tongue
@@RuchiraSen Oh, I thought the ant's mouth would also be a chewing mouth. It was similar to a wasp! I was very curious about this. Thanks to your kind explanation!
@@RuchiraSen Insects without a "prominent" labrum, their mandible stands out in my view. If what I understand is correct, is mantis classified as having a promotional labrum? In the case of Stagbeetle, doesn't it have a promotional labrum?
that's the problem mam ... i see no perticular insect in my area just random insects eg mosquitoes flees cockroaches locusts cockroaches butterflies moths bees wasp etc

Ants mouths are chewing type. The difference with grasshopper is that ants/wasps don't have a prominent labrum.

Mam please give me idea about which topic should I choose for my entomology project. I am very confused 🙏
What insects are available near you? Do you see any particular insect in large numbers?
that's the problem mam ... i see no perticular insect in my area just random insects eg mosquitoes flees cockroaches locusts cockroaches butterflies moths bees wasp etc
and i dont want to make project on sericulture or apiculture as most pf the students are doing so ...it will be very common
Mam what about IPM? Should i go for it? Guide me mam🙏
