- I ordered some Botswana agates from Kingsley North and thought I would share how they turned out. I was definitely not disappointed, and I hope you aren't, either. I also added a few shots of jewelry made from them at the end.
To see the jewelry I make from these stones and more, head to my website and click "Catalog" near the top of the page.

Love the variations Ken and the wire wrapped pendant! Nice tumbled specimans 🩵💙🩶
I've worked with Botswanas a few times before, but these were definitely show stoppers.
Seeing these go from rough mysteries to polished discoveries, was a great video to end the day (it's near midnight here). Long before internet, I'd go to garden centers or gravel areas to search for them in crushed Bluestone (Basalt). Finding one was like my needle in a haystack.
Greetings from Victoria, Australia.
Thanks for watching late. I'm a third shifter and go to bed after work, so I know what it's like trying to cram things in just before bed. I can't help peaking into piles of stones every time I go by. Especially crushed stones where agate bands might pop out. I'm glad you've had some successes!
Tumbled botswanas, good stuff!
I can't get enough of these!
They all look nice and will make for some beautiful pendants. Really like the second on you showed 👍😊
For sure! They've made some stunning jewelry. I couldn't show some of the pieces I've made because they jumped off the rack as soon as I wrapped them.
They turned out so pretty!!
I like how you pointed out when to start looking at your future jewelry pieces. I recently started wire wrapping my polished gemstones because.... what am I going to do with all these pretty pieces? thanks for sharing!! Looking forward to your future projects!
Wire wrapping is definitely my wife's favorite way to display the stones, hehe. It's good to be able to display your hobby in a pretty way while out and about!
It is hard to go wrong with Botswana agates, I know the pain my last batch I polished for 30 plus days in the first stage because I did not like they way they looked. Have a great day.
I rushed these so they didn't take that long, but I'm working on some Mozambique agates that I'm trying to be fussy with and they are taking at least that long.
Mozambique agates frature really easy. Good luck.
