    This is great! I have been left on ben*o's for 39 years now. My Dr's had me on multiple controlled rx's and more. I woke up from a suicide attempt after an abusive and traumatic FORCED CT in a state facility via EOD. It was horrific and abusive! Thank you for doing this.

    You guys are my heroes. I’d just like to point out that I’m 60mins to your north in NH and I never even heard Geraldine screaming about this harm and I got hurt. That means this message is still not loud enough.
    Four years later, I’m crippled in chronic akathisia, tardive dystonia, and a host of other neurological madness. No one told me this could happen. I had to find it out from the Benzodiazepine Information Coalition after it happened. I had to find out listening to Geraldine’s Benzo Awareness podcasts. I had to find it out listening to Nicole Lamberson and her discussions for the film Medication Normal. I had to find it out listening to all these other people and then go teach my doctors.
    One of me is too many. One of us is too many. This injury is just that horrible and needs prevented. No matter how many people say it helps them. We are not sacrificial lambs. If they want these drugs on the market, develop screening or use them much more cautiously and then you still must compensate the injured because it’s impossible to give informed consent for something so horrible you cannot imagine it. End stop.

      Hi, I wasn’t informed about dangers either, I don’t even know if my doctor knows, he should, he is older, one psychiatrist told me that changes are minimal and very slow!
      Would you share which drug you found harmful for yourself? Because I don’t think that they are equally dangerous and bad . For sure people react differently, but looking at statistics , testimonies, these drugs aren’t the same. Agree?

    • @kevk741
      @kevk741 8 месяцев назад

      @@ellaMel4632 that’s tough. The reasons an antidepressant injury and a benzodiazepine injury look similar is because they are essentially dopamine injuries. Benzodiazepines add a GABA injury to that dopamine injury so I’d put benzodiazepines near the top. If we are talking about drugs that can injury in one pill or a few pills then it’s probably dopamine antagonists and perhaps SNRIs. Benzodiazepines inhibit a dopamine inhibitor. Doctors think that only dopamine antagonists can cause these injuries when the truth is there is tons of ways to simulate a dopamine blockade. Especially with poly-pharmacy and especially while tapering/stopping medications.
      It’s hard to say, my partners brother was dead four months since his first pill of Effexor. My partner was injured by one pill of Effexor. I’ve had one day of Cymbalta make my akathisia explode. I also have friends who took Effexor for years and thought it helped them until it stopped working and they went to stop it. They are still crippled in pain nearly 4 years off.. if I tried to take Cymbalta for a month I’d not be hear, but most of my harm happened from 4 weeks of Prozac, Methadone and Klonopin. Jill Nickens, head of the Akathisia Alliance for Education and Research was injured stopping Methadone and later Buprenorphine. I think certain meds are dangerous for their insidious ways of causing harm. Benzos make everyone think it’s helping them. Pain medications are similar. What they don’t tell you is that anything with an associated “withdrawal” can cause akathisia, especially “interdose withdrawal akathisia” and “withdrawal akathisia”. Do I think certain ones are more dangerous at causing tardive akathisia? “Yes” I believe SSRIs are more dangerous than stimulants like adderall for causing tardive symptoms. I still do not trust any of them to not cause damage on some level. Not after what I’ve seen.

    To take it a step further; A national bill needs to be passed, that protects anyone legally prescribed a longterm Benzo, from having their dose un-consensually reduced, or discontinued by an MD, hospital, pharmacy, pharmaceutical company, FDA, or government. Furthermore, all MD’s, and Benzo pharmaceutical companies, should have a micro-taper program, plan, and system, in-place, and ready to administer for any patient that desires, or requires, to discontinue a longterm Benzo. Also, anyone un-consensually forced off a Benzo within the last decade, should be compensated for all financial losses that they incurred while discontinuing, including emotional distress, pain & suffering, and or any compensatory damages that incurred in this time period.

      Yes, Europe is left behind. At least Croatia. There are only 2 people that I know if in my entire country at the moment that are going through this. Alone. When I asked my GP doctor for others and how they did it, she said she never had a case of someone going off. So people here have no idea. They just think it is safe to take for the rest of their lives.🤦😓

Because I almost lost my life to this and I still do not have a quality of life that is anywhere near normal, I would push for these drugs being completely banned permanently. Many people have lost their lives and many people like me to not have a quality of life and are in hell. They need to stop being manufactured at all.

    People are so extremely misinformed. Benzodiazapams are not the issue people. The actual issue is you-all's doctors and psychiatrist's either incompetence or outright negligence improperly prescribing benzodiazepams. The drug pamphlet clearly says it is meant as a short term use medication and not meant for long-term. This is why people need to read the information pamphlets that come with their Rx but more importantly put the blame where it rightfully belongs-- your docs negligent improper prescribing. Wake up people!!!
    Just like the firearm banning argument-- Is it the firearms themselves that are "eliminating" people or is it the criminals and mentally ill that are doing the eliminating? It's not the firearms that are bad it is the people who are bad. So, again is it the FDA approved benzos whose efficacy has been successfully proven to work or is the real reason for people's negative effects due to the prescribers.
