- On the eve of the official debut of its new Model X, Tesla invited Business Insider to tour its technologically advanced factory in Fremont, California. While thousands of humans work on the factory floor, more than 100 robots also pitch in to build the cars.
We asked Tesla employees to show us what they consider to be the coolest robots working in the factory.

The manufacturer of these robots are FANUC & KUKA ..
Both are pioneers in robotics
The Fanuc robots are sold by Kuka ;-) Kuka is the largest Fanuc reseller in the world, because they don't have to care about the warranty.
Kuka own by chinese company now
@@julianreverse Where do you get this information?
@@skaitmeninis From Kuka.
I hope the advancement of robotics will bring manufacturing back to the US
+verybigname
... This company is located in Fremont California... but yes I do hope that we can bring more companies back to the US. We lose more than we gain that is for sure.
Is the idea that, while the robots take jobs away, at least it will create some jobs here in the US that is robot maintenance & such?
@@Rofl890 it’s not about the jobs, it’s all about how to make it more efficient. If I run a manufacturer, I would make it entirely built by automation to minimize the number of people needed
😂guess who owns the company KUKA robots 🤣🤣🤣
😂 sorry
Your replaced by robots and AI
Get an education involved in Tech. Then maybe you will have a job 😅
nerd heaven
wrg,idts
By God
Damn right
YEP ! 🤣😂🤣😂
Exactly
cool video
plus, so gentlee
If Robots are making these cars, why are they still so bloody expensive.
+TheElyzium Because they are made in the state with the highest taxes, and in the most expensive part of Mexifornia. Double whammy.
+TheElyzium and they are marketed as luxury cars. why not ask BMW and Mercedes why their pricey cars are so bloody expensive.
+TheElyzium Gotta pay off the robots
+TheElyzium Not anymore, Model three here we come!
Each robot costs 50,000 dollars. There are 200 of them. Also, they aren't primarily used for cost saving in a direct way. Instead they are used to make more cars in a shorter period of time while also maintain quality. More cars = more deliveries = more money
But they can never beat *Jarvis*
The only impressive thing about them is their size. They are huge, but their amazing potential is being neglet just to move the body from one place to another. There are more efficient ways to do that. And more impressive thing to do with a robot. Thats not even an hard pick and drop task... It is just a bunch of pre-programmed points waiting for some inputs.
Wait fanuc is japanese?..!
I hope in future Tesla will make their own robot instead of buying them from other companies. If Elon Musk can make rocket then industrial robot should be easier.
Not cost effective.
Though the initial cost is high, industrial robot purchase in the long run is best sourced to the best companies that make them.
Unlike, the electrical motor, which is a sensible in house design & manufacturing strategy because they are used as critical component in Tesla own product.
And, making industrial grade robot is not easy. Producing the ultra precision gears for industrial robot are the most challenging, as hard as making aerospace component.
2023 already in production
Elon Musk hasn't made any rockets. He's a CEO and not a rocket engineer.
Man, y'all crazy. I'm moreso impressed with how well Musk's PR companies are able to convince you people that this guy is a big genius. 😂
I really want a black and red Tesla now.
Bro who let Viceroy Nute Gunray come to earth and cook🗣️🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥🔥🗣️🔥
disassembling car ai robot can salvage faster then humans.
I mean, it's not that cool... But still nice to se inside the factory! :D

No wonder why they sell their vehicules over $100,000.00
No they don’t. Their cheapest car is $37,990 and there’s barely any difference with each options added. Their most expensive car is around $105,000 but that’s only because they put high performance motors in them which are extremely expensive.
@@akzebraminerAnd these days the Model 3 starts around $65k. Not cheap.
They need a robot name murphy
So that's all great and fine. Where are the jobs for humans? How is Tesla contributing to the work force?
Tesla employs nearly 80 thousand worldwide. That’s how.
@@JesusisKing2000 Doing what? They're not working on the factory line. That's robot city. Maybe washing cars or delivering food or?
@@jflow5601 that factory in Fremont is 5.3 million sq feet and employs over 10 thousand people. Not sure why you'd expect to see a bunch of people in a video about the robots in the Fremont Factory.
Some people need to program these robots and do many other tasks involving creating such prodction line.
Hanzhen harmonic drive gear , robot arm gear reducer, over 30 years experience
Not impressive, but OK :) cool stuff
Awwwww Their named how sweet i wish i had one to keep me company and play with me and cuddle 💖💕😊😞
They are made to work
Just find the one
@@Raj-wf6lnYou make it sound like cuddling with someone you don't like isn't work...! 😂
for me KUKA is much better tha FANUC
Why is the build quality still sh*t?
And the company still can't make a profit.
Yet it briefly became the most valuable car company in the US, surpassing all, even GM.
They are probably going to report annual profit soon so you just wait.
They have reported an operating income of nearly 2B$....So shut your F****g mouth up.....
@@DhrubajyotiRaja01 You may have noticed my comment is from 3 years ago. But yeah, they have been profitable mainly thanks to selling carbon credits. Good for them.
so small and big lol

Because ths robots, now many people have no jobs. Government must tax this companies 10 times higher if they use robots to assemble products. This way rich people will start hire human force. It would be more expensive to keep the robots.
