i saw your code from the video you put 3 years ago, while i absolutely loved that you made that video and thankful for the same - i did the painstaking task of copying the code(like writing it with my hand) - and in newer version of the Pine Editor it didnt compile ;_;
Sinca i have developed and delivered many trading bots based(with dummy real time trade) on customer's strategies. I agree, have seen many deviations between real and backtested trades.
The point is not whether backtesting is important or not (of course, it is). The point is that backtesting in itself is not sufficient and that one needs to do real-life testing to find the execution related realities before taking trades with real capital.
