    What an amazing video!

    The thumbnail is Imogene pass of course. But that and Black Bear are the 2 best trails. Great video!

      Correct!! Thanks! I'd love to go back with my trooper. Maybe next year!

    • @GATORADDAM

      @CodyShell
      I've done Black Bear 3 times. In 2020, 2021 and 2022. All the way from Florida each year. Did Imogene once along with all the other cool trails out there.
      But the best trail I've EVER done is The White Rim trail near Moab. Nothing compares! Doing it again end of Sept!

    • @CodyShell
      @CodyShell  Год назад

      @@GATORADDAM nice!! I'll have to look up that one I've heard of it for sure. I want to do more of the alpine loop trails that are on the other side of highway 550. Like engineer pass and paughkeepsie gulch, etc. Wow! Long way from Florida, what are you driving?

    • @GATORADDAM
      @GATORADDAM Год назад +1

      @CodyShell
      2019 Tacoma TRD offroad. 2-1/2 inch lift on 33s skids and rock rails.
      Mineral Creek / Engineer pass is a great trail. It has a few areas I think a little more rock crawly than Imogene.
      I've never done Poughkeepsie gulch. I think it's a little more difficult than I want to tackle. I have to drive the Tacoma 2100 miles home!
      I really want to do Top of World but I'm hesitant on that one to.

    • @CodyShell
      @CodyShell  Год назад

      @@GATORADDAM sounds like a blast! Someday I plan on getting axles from a 96 or '97 trooper which will get me down to 4.56 gears. If I can do that, I would like to do a 2-in body lift and then I'll be able to clear 35s easily. Maybe some lockers while I'm in there as well.

    Nice sound of that V6. I used to drive a Luv pickup with the same engine and the purring it made at 2000 rpm was so relaxing,,,

      No problem you take time to make good videos so you deserve it! I love it i got it for a bargain £500 but wouldn't start so it ended up just needing a new fuel line and filter! Its £200 a year at the nearest club so its worth it if get to have fun and meet a few pros like yourself, Nice rig btw exactly how i want mines to look

      Its definitely worth the trip! "The Steps" was the scariest spot for me, other than that it was a piece of cake. The other trails out there are a blast too

    • @CascadeGriz
      @CascadeGriz 7 лет назад +1

      From what I hear just getting down that first part is what gets you going, then the rest just a matter of focus. Did you use a spotter on each turn? I had plans to go there this August but tied up on another project. Good job,! Look forward to more videos.

    • @CodyShell
      @CodyShell  7 лет назад +1

      Yeah the first part is definitely the worst of it, you have a terrible view of whats in front of you, its rocky and slippery, and all you see is telluride over a thousand feet below you so its a little scary!
      I actually only used a spotter on the second switchback, the part thats in the very end of the video. For the most part the trail was more than wide enough for my trooper and the 3 point turns weren't difficult at all.

    Wish small RUclipsrs would start realizing, authentic, genuine content that you enjoy making is better than ripping off the lowest common denominator creators. Cheap music, a focus on profits. The internet used to be a bastion of free creative expression. Now EVERY FUCKING VIDEO needs to have some brainwashed matrix ass music in it that definitely isn’t 432hz certified.

    Hey Cody, haven't seen any new Trooper videos lately but had a quick question. Is the black bars mounted to your roof "Unistrut sections painted black and mounted to the stock roof rack locations? Just curious. Hope you get a chance to answer the question.

    • @CodyShell
      @CodyShell  5 лет назад

      Yes they are unistrut, painted black. the stock roof rack locations have pre-threaded holes tapped into the roof, but you will need a bracket to attach them. i was at the junkyard and i found a trooper with the brackets used for mounting rails/luggage rack/or skiis and i nabbed them. There are three mounting locations on each side of the trooper.

    Hey Cody how did you attach that ladder onto the back 1/3 door?

    • @CodyShell
      @CodyShell  7 лет назад

      The door was actually built from a memeber from the Planet Isuzoo forums. He builds them factory-spec to the ladders that were on the troopers in Iceland. The ladder hangs onto the top of the door and clamps underneath, tighten the bolts on the bottom and the ladder grips the door. Can be easily removed too
