Agreed. Nothing to do with memory when some of the answers were names you’ve never heard of, particularly if you’re not a U.S. citizen. I hate to think what the average U.S. person of say 18 to 25 would score - hmm maybe 10 - 😂

I was drafted in 1966 to go to vietnam. Maybe you are referring to a specific change, but the draft was called lottery in 66 because I sarcastically referred to it as the only lottery I ever won. I got 12 wrong.
Considering that I came to the states in the 50s, and was only 10 yrs old, and didn't know the language, getting 60 out of 100 I'll say I did good, the 60s and 70s questions were a breeze.
The choices for the first woman to reach the summit of Mt. Everest included two men! And as for the question about a Swiss watch, the wrong answers were not even Swiss. Most disturbing was referring to Queen as an American rock band.
And, amazing as it sounds, a girl from Ipanema really did inspire Brazilian composer Antonio Carlos Jobim and Portuguese poet Vinicius de Moraes when they spotted her on Rio de Janeiro's famous beach. The draft was in place well before 1969, but they held a lottery in 1969 to determine who would get called first. The lower the number, the greater were the odds that you would be called. My number was 4, but I aged out (turned 26) before they called me up.
