Hi Paul it was a climb descent. Climb descent ride. But the second climb was mostly gravel double track with nice pleasant views. Loads of other loops can be added to this ride. It’s a good ride area
Great video mate. Most of that is one of my regular Dales rides, I always forget about that turn off through the gate down to Semer Water & end up doing the road down to there. I usually start at Horton meaning I end up having to go through the entire Langstrothdale Valley near the end which is grim but the descent back down to Horton down Harbor Scar makes up for it.
Brilliant ride mate, that bridleway you had never done before looked fantastic with the views, i bet that would be superb in the summer, some great looking descents, especially the last one down to the car park, nice & rough, cracking video 😃👍
I did that ride in reverse around 2008 when I was living nr Grassington. That High Cam Roman road is a relentless slog - I prefer your singletrack variation.
Nice video mate. That climb up Fleet Moss is brutal. I do a longer version of this ridr starting from Horton. One best saved for summer though as it is a very long one.
Hey fella, another great video. I was wondering if you can do a couple of videos that applies to us most of us here in the UK. A full video of everything that you wear on a ride? That is full cycling kit. What you change into after your ride? What is your post ride routine, i.e. how do you care for your clothings, jacket, shoes, helmet etc etc. As you will know, good quality cycling kit of properly expensive and needs to be cared for correctly. Do you take a change of kit with you? Your ride today, 0 degrees C - so how do you layer up - 2 bass layers, Jersey, softshell jacket, waterproof? What do you do when you are sweating like a beast half way round - don't stop and you won't get cold right? But what if you have to stop, how do you stay warm? Do you change into dry kit before starting again? Then, like the Queen I always wonder whats in your bag (she had 20 b&h, her gloves and her door key, but what do you have on your back pack - first aid, food and drink, spare parts etc etc. Always interested to see what you are ready for? Post ride, what do you change into, and nutrition to recover and during your rides - essential stuff. Thanks, man. Any input welcome. Thanks for all the info so far. For example,
Another great video 👌👌 What's your thoughts on the garmin 1030plus? I'm going to buy one and not sure if to go for the 830 or 1030 plus would love to hear what you think cheers 👍
I love it. I enjoy the huge screen. My favourite feature is the climb screen. (Not sure if this is a 1030+ feature or on all devices) it gives you how much in feet till the top and the distance. With a nice graph showing the steepness. Think you can’t go wrong with any of the devices. But if you don’t mind spending the extra cash. I would go 1030 plus
(Filmed 24/12/2020)
We love your videos. We’re walkers, we go to the Dales a lot and your films are so informative and so good to watch. Keep ‘em coming. Thank you.
Thanks so much elena. I’m pleased you enjoy watching
Nice one Andy .. only ever been up that bridleway from semerwater ..looked a lot more fun going down it 👍
Thanks mate. It’s a great descent. You should go try it 😁. I’ll be hitting it again in the summer when it’s fast and dry
Great stuff as always Andy. At 1m 50s camera is facing Yockenthwaite Stone Circle estimated to be between 4500 and 3000 years old.
Thanks mick. I’ll take a look at the video again to see it
Nice video, looks like most of the climbing was on the road allowing you to fully enjoy the spectacular off road down hill👍

I actually planned this out after we discussed the area the other month. I wanted to try the bridleway down to buckden that you recommended.
@@TrailFinder Ah nice one, you did it at the right time of year as it can have a few walkers on there in the summer.
Another cracking ride Andy, great way to spend Christmas Eve 🙂👍
Thanks mark.

Thanks mate. Some fun downhills on this ride. Last descent was brilliant compared to the last time I did it on the Scott
Great video and channel, hope to do some of these routes soon!
Did this on Saturday. The decent down to Semer water 👌🏻. Keep up the content Andy, it’s great.
Cheers Danny 😁
Lovely way to spend Christmas eve! Great vid as ever, thanks.
keep up the great vids. I couldnt be more jealous of where you get to ride. I am attempting the same thing in tiny Pembrokeshire. All the best
Thanks mate. Im lucky to live so close to the dales/lakes and Yorkshire moors
Great ride Andy. Never been up that area before. Looking forward to getting "up north" later this year, hopefully 🤞

That first road climb BLOODY HELL 😃. and the first descent down is very arty with the bike shadow. This is England 😍😎
Yeah it was brutal. 1st thing my mum said to me was the shadow.
Done parts of that and love that area its worth the effort cant wait to get back over there
Nice video mate. That climb up Fleet Moss is brutal. I do a longer version of this ridr starting from Horton. One best saved for summer though as it is a very long one.
Thanks mate. Hopefully see you soon for a ride
Hope so mate, that would be good 👍
