I just did this on my 5 month old locs this past Saturday and it turned out so cute!!!! I'm so surprised how easy it was since I always struggled to braid/twist my loose natural hair! Thank you so much for this tutorial.
@@JoyNavondid any of your locs try to interlock with the faux hair? this happened to me before at about 2-3 months into the journey .. luckily the damage was not irreversible
Thanks for sharing! I’m newly locd and wanted to try a cute protective style while I go through the “ugly stage”. I don’t want to do wigs or “straight” hair. I wanted something more natural looking. I want to try this. You made it look so simple. ❤
Ty im so looking forward to trying this before i go into labor. I just started my 3rd pair of locs and want something that isn't too hard or too much to take out or do. I just have to wait til i have my wild fire new growth come in.
I’m going to try this, this week! My locs are 13 months old. Mostly mature, but I’m losing patience, so I’m hoping this style will buy me time while they grow so I don’t comb them out b/c I know if I stick with the process, they’ll be really nice.
I’m almost two month and don’t comb them out girlie, I’m losing patience because I’m always touching my hair soon as I’m bored I changed it up wigs, braids, etc. I’m going to definitely do this hairstyle but maybe right after a regular retwist so I don’t have to focus on tidying up the parts that is not my strong suit😂
Thank you so much I loced my hair up 7 months ago and lowkey been so bored with styling it and I’ve tried to do twist like these but my locs just had a fresh retwist and it was way to tight 😢thanks for explaining it was much better ❤
You look amazing. You make it seem so easy. I'm going away for holiday and it's gonna be so hot so I have been pondering over doing a protective style for weeks now. Your video is so helpful. Thanks for sharing. How many locs do u have and does the hairstyle feel heavy or will it depend on type of extensions used
Thank you!! I have 67 locs but it's not heavy at all if you use the hair I did. I linked it in the description box also! But the weight does depend on the hair.
I love these on you!! 💕💕 I really want to try this again, but I had a hard removing it as the marley started locing. didn’t even have them in a whole month. any tips on removal/ on keeping that from happening ?
aargh! This is what I was afraid of...the marley hair loc'g into my own hair. I definitely don't want that to happen. The marley hair isn't even my own same texture of hair 🤔 _maybe I shouldn't try this_ I am sooo confused.
(Just seeing this comment btw) But I don't understand why the hair would start locing if you followed the method I used.. I just braided the Marley hair down a little and then started twisting. Besides, how long did you keep it in?! I only kept mine like 3-4 weeks.
Oh wow really. I've done this multiple times with my locs and the hair has never loc'd with my hair. I also did my daughter's hair like this as well with no issues. Is it possibly your hair texture or something?
This was a great tutorial!!! Your hair is poppin!!! I’m looking to switch up my look for the holidays. I’ve been locked almost 4 years so they are pretty long and mature. Do you think this style could work for me? Would it be hard to cover the locs since they are more mature?
Do the pieces already come sectioned out piece-by-piece or are you grabbing what you think should be enough hair for the 1 re-twist section? I hope you understand what I'm trying to say. This will be my first time everrrr trying to do twists. thanks ❤
Wow, you make it look so easy. I tried the rubber band method for twists. My hair peaked through a little and unraveled. My hair is long. I will try this technique. The gel you mentioned, nap star, can this gel used for braiding, twists, and did you get it on amazon? Oh your twists look beautiful!
Thank you! The gel is meant for retwists but I realize that it can be used for anything. However, just keep in mind that it has the consistency of a edge control so I only like using it on my roots or for smoothing. I linked it in the description box!
This would work well for starter locs since it's minimal tension. It'll probably be easier for you to hide your locs in the twists too since I'm assuming they're still soft.
Oops I guess i chose the wrong video. My style took 12+ hours, was bulky, looks a hot mess. This method is not for medium to thick locs. You’re better off going with other methods. Wish she could have told just how long it took. Would not recommend
I told how long it took FOR ME. If you're looking for a method to do on thick locs you should have followed a video from someone with thick locs...... Your expectations were off.

No problem hun! I love that for you 🥰
How was take down?
Extremely easy! Just like taking down regular twists on your natural hair..

Your hair looks fabulous even after 3 weeks girl them eyebrows are fierce beautiful

Obsessed with these! They turned out so good!
Me too!!! I loved them sooo much 🥰
I’m gonna do this for Renaissance!!! So helpful thank you!
The most helpful tutorial! Definitely doing this for carnival over my locs thank you!!
My locs are to my butt but I like to braid in color. I think the twist will be so much cuter. Great tutorial.

Nah this is beautiful 😍😍😍😍! Once my locs mature then I’ll try this style out. Right now my locs are too soft and brittle i don’t want to damage it lol
good thinking!

Maybe try crocheting the braiding hair into the root then start braiding

Your hair looks absolutely amazing! But why do you recommend doing it on old non-retwisted hair instead of on a fresh retwist?
Because you don't want to over manipulate your hair
@@JoyNavon Ahh I see. Thank you so much for your response!
What length is the market hair. Looks great by the way
Great video Queen 🔥🔥🔥

This was the exact tutorial I was looking for 🫶🏽🫶🏽
They look amazing. My question is do you have to dip the ends in hot water?
No you don't need to
Any tips on tucking the end of your loc in? And how to prevent the end of the locs from poking out?
I just wrap it a few times tightly and then twist down
Beautiful! I have a trip coming up and wanted to try these. How long did it take you?
I did it in a day with breaks in between. so maybe 7-8 hrs
My hair will be freshly retwisted will tht be a bad thing cause im going on a trip
So the loc is the third piece?? Or was the fake halr in 3 ?
Omg
So happy o found

I love you!!! Haha

Love it 😍
Love this, thank you!!
Does this hurt the loc tho ? While it’s in that braid ?
Beautiful
love, love, love the look! how long are you going to keep them in?
I kept them for exactly 4 weeks
When you add in the feed in hair are you doing that for extra length or is it for a more seamless look?
Just extra length really.
It looks great but was it heavy on your head?
I didn't feel a thing tbh
How many LocS do have??this came out bomb 😍😍😍

How long did it take roughly? looks great!

I’ve never gotten hair from Amazon did you have any issues ?
No problems at all. I've been getting all of my hair from Amazon for years now.
How many locs do you have
do these compress the size or is it just with box braids?
Not for me it didn't. Because you're not twisting it tight.
❤
Do you suggest this for starter locs? I’ve had locs for 3 months. Or is it better for more mature locs?
This would work well for starter locs since it's minimal tension. It'll probably be easier for you to hide your locs in the twists too since I'm assuming they're still soft.

Absolutely not. You should check out my IG @joynavon
❤️😍
Did the marley hair get tangled or anything with your locs when taking it out?
Not at all
I’m doing the same
Do you know how many locs you have ?

Muito bom
Did you find your locs pop out?
when they got about 2-3 weeks old, yeah.
How to take it out tho?
Take the braid down
it looks better 2-3 weeks old
