@@GreenMagicMachine Utica was in the bottom 3 thrice by now, in all the seasons before, the third time in the bottom 3 means instantlly a bottom placement, Utica was the first ever queen to break this rule. Also, except for the disco challenge, Mik has been doing consistently good, even being on the top 3 times, she even has a win under her belt. She also is, alongside Olivia and Rosé, one of the only queens who were never bellow safe until this point. Ans, like it or not, Utica had an amazing look, but 2 other meh looks, while Mik had 2 amazing looks, and a meh one, so yeah, even if you do not like it, the judges are doing the correct decisions this time around.

possibly unpopular opinion: neither queen did too well here, but i take Utica's self aware camp over Mik's failed attempt at a serious lip sync while being bad at dancing. sometimes "comedy" lip syncs feel like a cop out (and it's even worse if it ends up not being funny anyway) but if you can't dance, then failing at a more serious lip sync with a floppy split and all is even cringier tbh

This is the second time I've watched this lipsync. Utica was the clear winner. I think Ru went with Gotmik just because her look was stronger.

Utica had a somewhat cohesive performance and a legit attempt (I'd even go so far as to say she kinda served it), but I have a feeling her very sloppy mouthing especially toward the beginning of the song might have had something to do with why they chose Mik. I was admittedly very confused when they announced Mik as the winner though
Utica had me as the winner, until she got down on the floor (during Mik’s split?). I was like WTF is Utica doing?!? - Before that though, Utica was very much giving me the 1989 version of Heathers vibe.

Yes, literally picked the lipsync from her audition tape because it was probably obvious that lipsyncing wasn't her strong suit. It makes you wonder about them wanting certain queens on the show and basically letting them know , hey your gonna make it to the end/far without saying it outright. Also, the fact she had this in her audition tape and it's still so horrible says something about her lack of skills in the lipsyncing dept.
Oh after seeing the season it’s clear that Gottmik probably isn’t that strong of a stage performer at all but because they wanted them in the top of course they pick the song from her audition tape and never put her in the bottom even when it’s clearly deserved because they knew she couldn’t hold her own against anyone else at the time.

Notice how they had Mik on screen twice as much as Utica. That one shot of Utica twirling her hair around her finger was better than anything Mik did the entire lipsync lol
These lip syncs were for the producers to see which queen is at what level and to see whether they should send their favored queens to lip syncs or not.
I mean Tamisha spilled the tea about how all their outfits are sent to production to view prior to them going on the show. So combine that with lipsync ability and you now have two out of three factors (they wild card being the challenges), to be able to figure out how to elevate or sink someone.
Oh c'mon, the girls were perplexed and scared about the twist, who can follow rythm feeling like that? And yes, they both learned how to dance during the show
Utica knew how to perform well before the show. There’s plenty of performances from her on RUclips before her time on drag race. I’m like 98% convinced they just put the camera on Mik whenever Utica did anything in this lipsync because there’s no way in hell Mik beat Utica. Even in the bits we saw here, Utica seemed to be feeling the song a lot more. But I guess a crunchy split won it somehow…

These two hands down are my favorites this season. They are both so iconic and likeable. And the talent they both have tells me even if they don't win this season they are an absolute choice for an All Stars season among other things. I think Utica should have won that bags challenge but GotMik was great as well. Utica gives a little bit of a Max/Tammie Brown vibe. Hope they are on for awhile.

Why would they place Gottmik at the top when she wouldn't survive a lip sync against the other queens. Especially for a lip sync for the crown 😓
To help justify why they will never put her in the bottom 2. I wouldn’t be shocked if they found a way to help her out in the lipsync for the crown...like changing it or making it more palatable. I don’t hate Gottmik as a person, but the favoritism sucks.
