Thanks for posting
The band were also National Champions in 1968 on Die Meistersingers .
Great opening by Lyndon Baglin on euph
I played that year
The studio recording of this piece by Black Dyke Mills under Geoffrey Brand, who came 2nd on the day, is strongly recommended: ruclips.net/video/XbNgl_S-mfU/видео.html
Ken Sarsby on G/D bass trombone .
Was this Brian Evans on sop and Lyndon Baglin on euph?
It was Lyndon Baglin on Euph but Raymond Briggs was on sop. Brian Evans didn’t join B&R until 1973. The high Db on the last note was played by principal cornet player Tony Whitaker.
Raymond Briggs on Sop and yes, Lyndon Baglin. Hope you’re well Tony.
High pitch too
Sadly, yes. It just sounds so "wrong" to my ears.
What an adjudication panel! 🤔
