Thank you Dennis, this has to be one of your very best episodes, you made a fine choice of detail vehicles and didn't pan too fast while showing the entire ares. I would love to get to see this show in Utah. God Bless and stay safe.
Wonderful episode. No matter which way you turn at a good car show there is always something unique. Greatly appreciate all the folks that bring these cars to the shows. And so many interesting stories. The Mazda R360 led me to reading the history of Mazda. 👍
a great episode, great eye for choosing unique cars, im going to enter my car in an event in Central calif may 7 where dennis is going to host, i look forward to meeting him.
I love that the owner states "we did".... Dave Kindig came up with the idea, executed it, & had his craftsmen build it. The "we" part is that the owner paid for it. That's all.
That baby Mazda is half the power of a VW! And must have been made for export? LHD. Which probably makes it rarer. The chap with the twin Buick,,, working like that one handed,, very brave
My dad got his shin pinned between his car and the ‘59 Desoto Adventurerer in front of him when he got out to walk around to open his date’s door. The guy didn’t see him and backed into him - he had to beat on the guys trunk. Then he had to pretend it didn’t hurt in front of the girl (it was their first date).😂. He still has a dent in his shin 60+ years later.
Base MSRP on a 1959 De Soto Adventurer Convertible was $4749. For the 1959 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible it was $5,455. For the 1959 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible it was $7,401. For the 1959 De Soto Fireflite Convertible it was $4,152. For the 1959 De Soto Firedome Convertible it was $3,653. For the 1959 De Soto Firesweep Convertible it was $3,315. For the 1959 Chrysler Imperial Crown Convertible it was $5,835. For the 1959 Chrysler 300E Convertible it was $5,749. For the 1959 Chrysler New Yorker Convertible it was $4,890. For the 1959 Chrysler Windsor Convertible it was $3,620.
15:07 "...but you've done all of these cars, in essence, single-handedly." Oh no he didn't!! Yes he did, he went there!! Dennis, how could you. And how tf am I going to get all this coffee I spat onto my keyboard and monitor off of it!! XD
HOW in THE WORLD was DeSOTO ever DISCONTINUED ?? This Adventurer is GORGEOUS !!! FAST, FLASHY , and BEAUTIFUL !!!! Chrysler should have NEVER let DODGE encroach on DeSOTO's price territory !! That is what caused DeSoto to be DISCONTINUED !! As a result, we lost a Great American Car !!
I always enjoy listening to car owners who had their car built which is no biggie, but as they tell about it they say things like we built a channel and we split this and that and we hand fabricated the firewall. No the builder and his team hand built this and that. I know I'm petty but it's just like people who talk about their favorite sports team as if their on it. Why did we run when we should've passed and think that the plays they think they should run are a better idea then the team of coaches with years of experience and get paid big bucks for that knowledge, but nope ol terry up the block with the Seahawks flag on his porch should be couching them.
The guy with the truck didn't build anything. He wrote Kindig a big fat check and had it built. He didn't even have a truck for them to start with. Kindig supplied that also.
Love that Sterling creation especially powered by Ford engine! Thank you 😊
What a remarkable Mazda story there. Real car history, nice pick, Dennis.
Agreed
Corvette lambo Ferrari styling on that little kit car. Beautiful
Del Friedli is an inspiration! Amazing!
He really is! Fascinating guy!!
Красно - белый родстер со спаренными моторами прекрасен!!!

Nicely done, sir. Definitely worth the visit to the area.

Super Whiz Banger episode!! Every single one mindblowing then you go and get me choked up there at the end man!
Love the stash, love the guy with the hook! What a testimony! 3 carbs on a four, love it! And the tandem engines..., Whoah! That man had heart!!!
Dennis, the 57,8,&9 Fire Sweep Desotos are the ultimate of cool. No matter how you slice it, they are with out a doubt the King of Cool.
Dodge Royal is pretty similar.
the 52 is a work of art fo sure
Single handedly built those cars. I love it! 👍🏻
The Sterling kit is reminiscent of a Lancia Stratos. Great show!
That truck is simply stunning! I want to see more of it!!!
Man, thank you Dennis Gage.
that desoto was amazing, beautiful job
cache valley is a great show. I've been going to it since I was a kid. Utah as a whole has some amazing cars.
“built everything singlehandedly” 😂
Dennis and crew,
Great show and nice job picking the vehicles for this show.

The De Soto, the KIndig built "ute" amazing . That kit car is like one here in Australia called the Purvis Eureka.
That DeSoto was the cats meow!
Nice Mazda, and great story, all great cars , but for me the Mopar, and I'm a Ford blue guy.
The Stirling Sterling ? looks eerily similar if not the same as the 'Purvis Eureka' sold in Australia in the same time period. Great show.
Aussie BMW Yes it was sold all over the world under lots of names.
Similar but I doubt anything is the same. 80s so many kit cars and most were terrible. As was the Purvis, I have driven one!
a great episode, great eye for choosing unique cars, im going to enter my car in an event in Central calif may 7 where dennis is going to host, i look forward to meeting him.
Taillights are out of a Triumph "TR 7."
Cool car.
R 360‼️
Awesome! Thanks!
I like how he says that "We" built everything.
He paid moreover lol
“She’s just as nice underneath as she is on top”. Classic.
another great show

Love that truck
I remember the truck on "Bitchin Rides". That truck has a LOT of time and MONEY in it. A LOT!!!
I love that the owner states "we did".... Dave Kindig came up with the idea, executed it, & had his craftsmen build it. The "we" part is that the owner paid for it. That's all.

The chap with the twin Buick,,, working like that one handed,, very brave
2:01 What was the BATMOBILE doing there? LoL 😁
We had these in the UK, it was called the Eagle.
i had a 63 Triumph Herald, it was 48 HP. Back then, a lot of cars didn't have much HP.

great show
That DeSoto is parked next to a 1958 Plymouth Fury.

Sterling yea !!
The "Sterling" was called the "Nova" in the UK, usually built round a VW flat four.
And dare I say the sterling was actually an Australian kit car called the Purvis Eureka !! thats it right here in this Vid!
15:07 "...but you've done all of these cars, in essence, single-handedly."
Oh no he didn't!! Yes he did, he went there!! Dennis, how could you. And how tf am I going to get all this coffee I spat onto my keyboard and monitor off of it!! XD
Sorry about that.
That Mazda must be worth millions of dollars nowadays, and if it's not, it should be.
On the Sterling....
Mercury of 58 had Transister radios first.
The sterling did NOT have tr3 tail lights.
61 DeSoto rag top more rare

I don't know what happened, but I'm sorry. Please stop yelling at us. Were far too sensitive for all the yelling.
agreed @@jakewilson6849
Calm down. its ok. You should research how many car companies had to sell out to survive. Hundreds.
IT almost LIKE that CAR HOMER Simpson DESIGNED!!!
Taillights are from a Triumph TR7
Sterling does not have TR3 tail lights. Probably TR7
Dennis I'm a bit surprised you never saw Cannonball Run 2?! I think this was a Sterling. www.imcdb.org/i003298.jpg
If 1961 Mazda R360 is an import Japan. Why is the steering wheel on the left side?
cuz it was ordered for export

Not true. '58 Buick has the most chrome. But Chrysler s are 2nd
Buick century
Stirling = Purvis Eureka
please go to amelia island :)
The fit and finish on those kit cars were cheap and top on that Sterling leaked like a sieve
Hey, it's a kit car! What do you expect?!
the red 52is a Kindigit car.
Bertone body style.
Anyone else notice del has a prosthetic/robotic hand?
What a Shame. Was a Panel !
Those aren't TR3 tail lights on the Sterling.....just sayin'.....Maybe a TR7 or TR8 turned upside down.
The guy with the truck didn't build anything. He wrote Kindig a big fat check and had it built. He didn't even have a truck for them to start with. Kindig supplied that also.
Nothing wrong with that. If I could afford it I'd have Dave build a vehicle for me too. He's the best there is!
