- A convicted serial child molester in the Sacramento area remains behind bars after Placer County prosecutors filed a new charge just hours before his scheduled parole release. David Allen Funston, 64, appeared briefly in a Roseville courtroom Monday after being charged with one count of lewd and lascivious acts with a child. Court records show the alleged crime dates back to 1996 and involved a victim younger than 10.

The governor asked the parole board to reverse the decision but the board decided to grant parole anyway. Not the governor's fault the parole board are idiots.
