Three Tone Cabinet Build With Large Walnut Slab

- I have had this beautiful Walnut slab for about two years. I didn't have an exact plan for the slab when I bought it, but I loved the colors and figure. I haven't worked with every wood available, but I think Walnut can have the most color variation. I thought maybe I could make a large coffee table, seat for a bench built-in, or use it for a customer. I mentioned to my wife about using it for a seat on a bench built-in. She said that would be neat, but she also said it would be nice to have an area to fold laundry and more storage in the laundry room. I said, "I can make that happen!" (must be nice to have a husband that can make stuff) I used Cherry wood for the cabinet doors, because I thought it would look good with the Walnut wood. I decided to paint the cabinet box white to make the top and doors stand out.

Thank you!
Solid build, but you should think about doing a talk over to discuss the various steps you've taken.
Thank you! To be honest, sometimes I don't enjoy doing voice overs.
This is the way cabinets used to be built before they started building the stuff you see in big box stores. You might be able to find a book on it somewhere.
Very nice!
What species of wood did you use for the doors?
Thank you! Cherry wood for the doors.
@@hesswoodwork thanks for the reply!
I'm inspired to build the same with a wooden slab as a countertop!
