i would like to do a first person view of our neighborhood, whats the easiest and most efficient way to do that? kinda like fps that can move around, just want to preserve our old neighborhood before demolition thanks,
No advanced graphic card is needed :) The heavy calculations are done on some servers in the cloud. But ypu might need to wait for hours sometimes... :(
Yes you can 😀, just drop the file into your favoruite rendering tool! After you scaled it you can measure. But measurements could be god or bad depending on the quality of your photos. Regards TL
Yes sure! :) Have a look below in the conversion with Ian McRoman sr. There you can find some links aswell for more indepth tips & tricks. Hope it helps a bit 😀
Hi Viet You get the best practice if you take the images yourself! With photogrammetry the biggest learning is to take good enough photos. And not to few either! And I also prefer not to share my untidy backyard 😀 Regards Tomas
Hi, Wonder can I do this on a boat too ? Length 6 meter and 2.20 meters Wide (Beam) and how many photos should I take to do this... answer only IF you have time over, please... /// McRoman ...
Sure you can! That's the beuty with photogrammetry, big or small doesn’t matter :) Image quality is the main thing though! And take a lot of images, 150 to 300 images. But you can do a "test" with maybe 60 to 80. Please give some feedback on how it"s going for you. Regards Tomas

@@mcroman-superfeat Have not seen your photos yet but a guess is that you might need more "reference points" in your photos. So when the software tries to stitch the images together it finds "strong" objects in several photos. If it is to clean around your boat it will be more difficult for the software. 1. Through out some garbage all around your boat. And noone of the objects should be similiar. Different colors and shapes, a showel, one shoe, a newspaper, a Rolex, etc. you got it. :) 2. And if the trees in the background are moving by the wind it will NOT work. 3. And if your boat is shiny and nice you MUST "dust it down" to get rid of the reflections! 4. And are there any hard shadows? The best is a cloudy day with a nice all surrounding lightning with a minimum of sharp shadows. 5. Probably the sides of the boat are to "similar". Put a big bunch of post-it notes with different big letters on your boat. 6. Glass windows? Transparent objects cause problems! Put some baby powder or tape on those areas. And just try to make "patterns" for the software to use. Who said that it should be easy :) Good luck, I have faith in you and know you can do the job well if you just put in the effort. There is many possibly reasons for your problem so I can only make some guesses. 1. Check that the storage you are pointing at have enough space. 2. Try to save with a very simple file name. Use only english characters. 3. Save with a short and simple path and only use English characters. 4. Uninstall, restart and install Recap again. 5. Try with another computer :) Hope it helps Regards Tomas
Thanks for the tutorial I'm using recap 2022. 2021 version was throwing one error after uploading the images.

3d gaussian splattering.
Are photos supposed to have an overlap?
Yes, and a lot! Try to take pictures with an 80% overlap. And take many many 80 - 300 images. No blurriness, sharp all the way. Good luck :)
Después de cargar las fotos y crear el proyecto me muestra error. Sabes si como slucionrlo? Gracias.
do you have to have cuda gpu for this

Yes you can 😀, just drop the file into your favoruite rendering tool!

Do you have any tips for photographing the object? I've tried several times with no success of building and accurate model.
