J Stars having like well over 30 series represented and Jump force only having like 16? And Assist chars is where actually sorta important cause in J-Stars you had teams of 3. But only 2 in your team would be playable. So you might as well had the third slot be taken up by an asset char than a playable one cause they might have a shit assist attack where as the assist where made more to assist so they where better. Jump ultimate stars had I think 56 playable and a countless amount of assist (Which where really necessary mind you) and had like 60 series represented in some way overall. I haven't seen half of these and I hate some of them but why aren't they here? I like how some people are like "oh anime fans are so toxic they are so hateful and never happy". Yeah you know what? Kaneki is one of the edgiest and shittiest character I know. I also hate how all those dumb emos have Kaneki avatars online and they say edgy shit like they want to be a ghoul too. But you know what? what your not understanding is all anime doesn't come from shounen jump. So most of the anime's you said on that list can't even be on jump force. Unless they payed the manga studio creators they can't even try to put at least 1 anime not from shounen jump.

I’m so disappointed especially since previous games such as jump ultimate stars had 56 characters in total. This is the 50th anniversary yet they can’t give us 50 characters. I can name so many characters that should be in the game but their not. Where is tsuna, toriko, gintoki, medaka box, Zatch bell, kinnikuman, black cat, busou renkin, Bobobo, d-grayman, beelzebub, koro Sensei, Nura rise of the yokai clan and so much more? Why should I have to pay for characters as dlc that where in previous games?😩😡Where the hell is the variety??? The big 3 literally make up half the roster.

I mean, they have their own damn games already so why the hell are they so overly represented in this roster? I'm not saying the big 3 shouldn't be there, but rather that a game that's meant to celebrate a 50th anniversary includes so few anime/manga characters. It's a bit of a disappointment to me because I'd like to think that a game that's meant to celebrate and advertise Jump would have more to it than just the popular ones. It's not like I don't like Dragonball or Naruto, it's just that I and several people that I know wouldn't buy a Jump game just to play as Goku, Naruto and Luffy.. We have 10 sword users hiei aint adding anything new put in kurama, saiki would be good but look at the sales compared to every series in game already. Gintoki isnt adding anything new either so might as well just get the costume. Allen would be a good edition do to his sales. Renji because he has a unique moveset so not a bad pick at all Boruto should not be a naruto rep at all, and kaguya actually deserves this spot, not only as the final villain, but is another female, and wouldnt have anything related sasuke so more unique. Itachi wouldve been to much like sasuke, pain isnt relevant towards the end of the series, and obito wasnt a villain in the end right. Cell shouldnt be in Game to me. I woild rather have buu he wouldve been the kirby of jump force absorbing people.

You dont even have to play the game to see the issues of the game feom just trailers and gameplay footage. All they knew was they wanted those fighters. They forgot to focus on the story part and awkward controls and bad visuals. Overall it looks like budget cuts and unmotivated developers.

Mordred 『Alter』 a different magazine that’s own by Shueisha as well, also you know what’s a anniversary game as well? Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax, and that game had 2 guest characters in there. If Dengeki Bunko Fighting Climax (another anniversary game) can have guest characters then why not a Shonen Jump crossover game as well? Because I don’t see a MSJ or a Young Jump, or even a Jump Square crossover game anytime soon unless Shueisha REALLY wanted to talk with a developer team to do so.

My take on this is that they wanted to rush the game out as soon as possible and skimped over putting more characters in the base than they should've and are planning on putting the rest of the J-stars Vs Victory roster in it as paid DLC. Not gonna buy it though. This shit is super unpolished. I'm saving my money for DMC5, that's for sure.
I totally get where you’re coming from. But Smash has built its roster from five different games. Unfortunately it’s not always easy to just drop 60+ characters in one game. Especially in the era of DLC. Nintendo’s budget and Shonen Jump’s budget are two different things entirely. Alas. I was hoping for a bigger roster as well. I got the Ultimate Edition so I’m excited to see who they add regardless.
horror girl Yeah. But they’re not considered sequels. If this was called J-Stars 2. It’s a whole different story. It’s not the same team working on it just because Namco is behind it. It might have some of the same people working from J-Stars. But it’s a completely different game. Now if they were going to do a Jump Force 2. That’s when you would expect the roster to continue to grow because they’ll already have the rights to the base and DLC and can add on to it. If they keep making a different Jump game then they have to redo the roster each time cause it’s a different team. At least I’m pretty sure it’s not the same team as J-Stars. If it is then I don’t really know.
Pros to jump force: yugioh, jojo, dai, city hunter. Cons: missing many staples, lacking aot of female cast and most of the villains are wack, wheres my meruem? My katakuri? Game should have at least had all the playable characters from j-stars also be playable here on launch on top of what we got. That would be more than a realistic expectation given the importance of this game and the resources and feedback the company has gotten in the past. Honestly when fighting games remove characters that were playable in the past and would be easy to implement, that is one of my biggest piss offs in a sequel. Feels like back peddling to remove them from the game. Also I personally wanted Gio Gio, Ajimu and Dark Schneider. Disappointed that not one of them made it in.
As soon as I saw Gintoki and Medaka were not on the full roster my hype for this game droped to zero. To be honest, all they had to do was add 4 characters per franchise. Main, rival, a love interest and iconic villain. Like using Gintama and Medaka Box as example, Gintoki, Takasugi, Tsuki and Utsuro; Medaka, Zenkichi, Kumagawa and Anshin. Using the new kids as example, Boku no Hero and Black Clover, Deku, Bakugo, Uraraka, Shigaraki, Asta, Yuno, Noelle and Licht. Boom, good roster and increase the female characters ratio. And you just modify it a bit for like Dragon Ball, Goku, Vegeta, Broly and Gohan, but it still works for One Piece like Luffy, Teach, Hancock and Akainu. Then just add the rest of every franchise as DLC.

The game just came out... are you guys not expecting dlc to release more characters later? And it's not just in the west, the big 3 are in Japan are the big 3 for a reason. They take polls and go by the most popular characters. I think you guys are discounting the influence of the Japanese audience on this one. The american market is not the only major consumer of this product.

1. DLC shouldn't be the go to fix for a game's problems if it's not free 2. An entire game production shouldn't revolve around only fan voting there should be a mix 3. Even if it were built around Japanese influence that doesn't explain why so many series -mostly popular in Japan only- aren't in this game

I agree. I was very disappointed with the launch roster especially compared to J-Stars. I wasn't crazy about the gameplay for J-Stars, but the roster was very unique and showcased a lot of the series shōnen jump had in the library. The one character I really wanted in Jump Force was Medaka from Medaka Box cause there aren't many female characters who are the main characters of their series especially in shōnen jump. Plus she's awesome. but yea no Allen Walker, Gintoki, Tsuna from Hitman Reborn, Arale from Dr. Slump, Koro Sensei or Toriko. WTF! I know these will probably be DLC, but it's still disappointing will probably have to pay for them. smh

I’m so disappointed especially since previous games such as jump ultimate stars had 56 characters in total. This is the 50th anniversary yet they can’t give us 50 characters. I can name so many characters that should be in the game but their not. Where is tsuna, toriko, gintoki, medaka box, Zatch bell, kinnikuman, black cat, busou renkin, Bobobo, d-grayman, beelzebub, koro Sensei, Nura rise of the yokai clan and so much more? Why should I have to pay for characters as dlc that where in previous games?😩😡Where the hell is the variety??? The big 3 literally make up half the roster.

My take on this is that they wanted to rush the game out as soon as possible and skimped over putting more characters in the base than they should've and are planning on putting the rest of the J-stars Vs Victory roster in it as paid DLC.

I totally get where you’re coming from. But Smash has built its roster from five different games. Unfortunately it’s not always easy to just drop 60+ characters in one game. Especially in the era of DLC. Nintendo’s budget and Shonen Jump’s budget are two different things entirely. Alas. I was hoping for a bigger roster as well. I got the Ultimate Edition so I’m excited to see who they add regardless.

It might have some of the same people working from J-Stars. But it’s a completely different game. Now if they were going to do a Jump Force 2. That’s when you would expect the roster to continue to grow because they’ll already have the rights to the base and DLC and can add on to it. If they keep making a different Jump game then they have to redo the roster each time cause it’s a different team. At least I’m pretty sure it’s not the same team as J-Stars. If it is then I don’t really know.

1:54 I... i actually wanted to play the game because i'm a Cell fan lmao (also because DBZ, but...mostly because... Cell lmao).
Game should have at least had all the playable characters from j-stars also be playable here on launch on top of what we got. That would be more than a realistic expectation given the importance of this game and the resources and feedback the company has gotten in the past. Honestly when fighting games remove characters that were playable in the past and would be easy to implement, that is one of my biggest piss offs in a sequel. Feels like back peddling to remove them from the game.
Also I personally wanted Gio Gio, Ajimu and Dark Schneider. Disappointed that not one of them made it in.

As soon as I saw Gintoki and Medaka were not on the full roster my hype for this game droped to zero. To be honest, all they had to do was add 4 characters per franchise. Main, rival, a love interest and iconic villain. Like using Gintama and Medaka Box as example, Gintoki, Takasugi, Tsuki and Utsuro; Medaka, Zenkichi, Kumagawa and Anshin. Using the new kids as example, Boku no Hero and Black Clover, Deku, Bakugo, Uraraka, Shigaraki, Asta, Yuno, Noelle and Licht. Boom, good roster and increase the female characters ratio. And you just modify it a bit for like Dragon Ball, Goku, Vegeta, Broly and Gohan, but it still works for One Piece like Luffy, Teach, Hancock and Akainu. Then just add the rest of every franchise as DLC.

On the contrary they made it to appeal to the western market, if we support it, we might get new shonen jump games more improved, we supported j-stars and due to that we got jump force on ps4,xbox and steam, they will probably learn from this game and try to make something better.

@@heatxsoul841 Bandai namco is the reason this game got so many flawsand they see the game as a cashcow but the devs try to listen to the fans and improve the game, now jump force got in the western because of j-stars, because 1st of all j-stars was supposed to be Asian only or Japan only, and J-stars 2 don't make no sense it's not a video game series they're juste crossover games with different names and stories for Shonen Jump anniversary like Jump super stars and Jump ultimate stars.

The game just came out... are you guys not expecting dlc to release more characters later? And it's not just in the west, the big 3 are in Japan are the big 3 for a reason. They take polls and go by the most popular characters. I think you guys are discounting the influence of the Japanese audience on this one. The american market is not the only major consumer of this product.
Oh believe us when we said that mostly for the west, it is because j star victory vs was a game that was taking surveys asking what characters that they want in the game when they was promoting it in japan
1. DLC shouldn't be the go to fix for a game's problems if it's not free
2. An entire game production shouldn't revolve around only fan voting there should be a mix
3. Even if it were built around Japanese influence that doesn't explain why so many series -mostly popular in Japan only- aren't in this game

I agree. I was very disappointed with the launch roster especially compared to J-Stars. I wasn't crazy about the gameplay for J-Stars, but the roster was very unique and showcased a lot of the series shōnen jump had in the library. The one character I really wanted in Jump Force was Medaka from Medaka Box cause there aren't many female characters who are the main characters of their series especially in shōnen jump. Plus she's awesome. but yea no Allen Walker, Gintoki, Tsuna from Hitman Reborn, Arale from Dr. Slump, Koro Sensei or Toriko. WTF! I know these will probably be DLC, but it's still disappointing will probably have to pay for them. smh
