  • Here are my two new in box Edison oscillating fans. The model 124003 was originally from an estate sale and I think I was the first one to ever assemble it.

The 5 way oscillation function is just a angle adjustment of the mechanism. It makes a loud click... 2 to the left and 2 to the right. All my National and KDK fans have this function. Hallo from South Africa!

Im not really into these type of fans anymore,i only collect vintage GE fans now, however i used to collect these type of fans, you were very lucky to find these 2 fans new in the box, this is truly something you will not probably find ever again in your life,if i can find something like this new in the box,i would defnitly still buy it,hello from South Africa Mossel bay.

Right off the bat the 124003 is immediately obvious as a Matsushita [parent company of National (ナショナル), Panasonic and KDK] fan.
4:05 Interesting how Page 2 uses a 12" Matsushita fan in the pictures, while Page 3 and 4 uses a 9 inch 2 speed model. Seems to be a hybrid manual containing instructions for both sizes.
5:29 Correct! Matsushita was the OEM. And all the 80s Matsushita fans are really high quality.
6:09 None of my metal-cage-clip Matsushita fans have that round metal thing behind the front clip, that's weird
6:39 Use needle nose pliers to re-bend it for easy opening and closing.
8:08 So do mine! I agree.
8:45 New in box is the holy grail.
9:25 The 5 way oscillation means you can adjust the oscillation anywhere "between 90 degrees left and centre", to "between 90 degrees right and centre", and anywhere in between.
9:57 Oils can harden over time (can't find that one specific technical word) so I'd re-grease the gearbox
    11:19 No earth connection?
11:36 Oh yes, I love them so much
14:52 Helps with centre of gravity.
When'll you show us the motors?
