Hey , so the video got slapped with a age-restriction for (I presume) the 5 second clip of taekwondo...??? RUclips doesn't promote age-restricted videos basically at all (minute-by-minute views dropped 90% 💀), so please share this around if you can ♥♥ But yeah, that's why there's a huge blurred screen for a few seconds in the middle of the video.
Yeah, it takes 2 hours for them to slap it with a restriction, will probably take 5 days to resolve 💀💀 (edit: they just responded, they said 7 days 💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀)
This is by far my favorite anime fight ever. From the use of real mma moves to the emotion, and the ducking soundtrack.. it’s all just peak storytelling.
The kimura sweep could've been done better but I get the logic that these guys only learn white-belt versions of these transitions and not much else for combat.
Come on dude, youre a LoTR fan, you should know its A balrog, (or Durins Bane if you want to name it), just saying "Balrog" gives off the impression that that is a name of its
Same here. I’ve wrestled my whole life and this animation and choreography, along with the stellar sound design and emotional investment, is simply one of the greatest things I’ve ever watched
Eren calling Reiner his hero is especially sad becausr thats all Reiner ever wanted to be, maybe not to the island devils, but "becoming a hero" is kind of like half his motivation
Damn never really thought if that He finally a acheived his goal and not just to eren the whole 104th looked up to him. Veiwed him fornhis own merit and fortitude and wanted nothing more than to be like him.😢😢 Ibwonder what would have happened has he decided to switch sides. To fight for Paradis
29:00 when over 20 senators tried to stab Julius Caesar at the same time, a bunch of them ended up stabbing each other. A curious factoid on this theme
What I find incredibly well done is how the roles of both Reiner and Eren reverse in season 4 when they fight. Here Eren's the one at a huge disadvantage because: A.) He was caught off guard by both Reiner and Bert's betrayls B.) He was relatively inexperienced in Titan VS Titan combat C.) He ended up losing We're basically rooting for Eren with everything we got But in S4 there's the roles of Reiner and Eren are fully reversed: A.) Reiner is caught off guard by the Scout's invasion of Marley B.) Reiner, although experienced, had lost the will to move forward, and his lack of will made him (In my opinion) weaker mentally during fights C.) Reiner ended up losing the battle in Marley So if we're still rooting for Eren's actions at this point, Isayama is basically pointing out at how we're, in essence, rooting for the same type of character we used to hate in S2 (S2 Reiner), only now he's the main character that we love and have followed for years, which makes Eren's betrayl of morals all the more painful to see unfold. Like I'd never have imagined in S2 that I'd be struggling to pick a side to root for in S4. The Eren VS Reiner fight was just me praying that neither died. The fact that this stood out for me just from the fights between Reiner and Eren shows how phenomenally Isayama and the directors are.
On the surface I can see that argument making sense. However look deeper and there's an obvious reason most everyone was/is still on Erens side in season 4. Reiner/Marley attacked paradise unprovoked wereas Erens attack is to prevent the anticipated retaliation of Marley after there failed mission with the warriors.
What are you waffling about fam. Marley attacking Paradis is like the US attacking Present day Germany for the crimes of the Reich during the second world war, just because they fear they may be n.a.z.i.s amongst them. If you were in such a situation, you wouldn't rationalize the attack on you and your people. The people of Marley wouldn't have stopped at anything, until the eldian empire was completely wiped out. Eren saw all this during his stay in Marley. His hand was forced by the marleyans. And in the end he created a long lasting peace for the people he cared about the most
@@WokeKandaEren wiping just Marley is... terrible, but arguably justified, still monstrous. Eren wiping HALF OF HUMANITY is impossibly disgusting and completely unforgivable.
On point mate. The whole point of Attack on Titan is perspective. No one is right, no one is wrong, and anyone who wastes time on picking a side IRL is wasting their time.
I remember first watching the reveal of Reiner and Berthold. I felt so gutted i actually felt betrayed as muc as Eren. Yes I did have my suspicions based on previous red flags, but I was actually fooling myself just because I really liked Reiner. What an amazing storytelling.
I love Hange!! When Eren makes that noise and nods at her and blushes cracks me up every time. Imagine if during his Titan training with her he was able to talk I bet she would have a damn heart attack 😂😂😂😂
I had a theory about the flashback, after watching season 4 "Memories of the future". Right after seeing the flashback, Eren tells himself, "Why I am remembering this now?" As if he was really on Rage mode and "someone" else made him remember a way to beat Reiner. My theory is that his Future self, sent memories of Annie's grappling techniques in order to "beat" Reiner, (in reality leading himself to be captured and revealing himself as the Coordinate/Founding titan in S2E12 "Scream".
@@manbat4582 this flashback happened on season 2 episode 7, and the 1st time he is able to control titans is at episode 12 when touching royal blood. What are you talking about?
Honestly, I would have preferred if titan regeneration looked more like their bones and flesh were being made out of sand instead of "bifrost." Since we see Ymir in her dimension building the tians out of sand and water, it would be cool foreshadowing to suggest it's Ymir rebuilding her creations.
23:45 My interpretation of Annie vs. Mikasa flashback is that Annie's technique secured her victory, which shocked everyone as we are shown. The reason Eren thought about it was because it gave him the hope that he could rely on technique to overcome Reiners' overwhelming power. As for why it's a cliffhanger, I'm not sure. Perhaps Eren just didn't have time to think about the whole flashback, or maybe he doesn't like to think about Mikasa losing.
I think the implication is that he was overcome by someone who was physically much weaker in terms of raw power (due to gender difference). I refuse to believe humanity's second strongest person lost to Annie. We're talking about an Ackermann here, a titan in human form.
I've always thought that *insta-materialize* and *insta-vanish* were built Colossal Titan powers. These powers would be especially beneficial for the Colossal specifically, and we never really see these with any other Titans. We see so few other instances of the Colossal besides Bertholdt, who was said to be particularly proficient with this Titan, so we don't have a whole lot of data.
This episode is so good! Your retrospectives are really helpful alongside a rewatch. First time watching this I was angry like Eren. The second time watching, after seeing Reiners back story, I was so sad. Such good story telling.

I'm at the 22 minute mark, and in a way, I think Isayama intended for Annie and Mikasa to be slight reflections of each other. 1. Both are strong women 2. Both hate and/or don't care about their government 3. Both Annie and Mikasa fight for a man they care about who isnt blood related to them. 4. Mikasa has similar hair to annie in titan form 5. Both threw riener to the floor during training.
This has been a great retrospective series so far & Iove that one was basically made for the fights. They're well choreographed & Isayama's MMA influence is great.
The point about the cg being deliberately used to make something stick out is something i have thought for a loooong time; specifically in Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood when Envy goes all out. I felt like the cg usage was very deliberate to show "yeah, this guy is fucked up looking, and very disconcerting"
I’m just getting to the part where you talk about the scene of eren nodding at Hange’s order/plan and it’s a scene that always gets me too cus I would be right there with them !! I’m standing on the shoulder of this giant and telling him a plan and he nods !! He understood the plan and is agreeing to do it!!! like what?!! that is literally the coolest thing ever !!! Whether the plan works or not it’s just the fact that this literal giant believed in me that much to do it !! 😂
17:54 @Krotos Mystery Shack you were my hero... but then i heard you say "irregardless".... how COULD you Reiner?! 😂 (sorry I heard you say it and my brain just went "wait whaa?")
thanks for all these videos! the norse mythology analysis was awesome and honestly I wouldn't be surprised if at least part of it was based off of it with how on the nose it sort of seems once you see it
Gday again. I always found the whole reveal sequence incredibly jarring - almost haunting. The reveal gives me shivers whenever I rewatch it, and yet I feel like it overshadows the tie up of this arc of the story. Its really good, and in hindsight it gives us a ton of hints about Marley and the world, but the reveal overshadows it. Not to mention, the music is absolutely insane. The OST going all out once again.
One thing I wanna point out that no one talks about. Reiner just had a mental breakdown. Given that, there is no chance he’s fighting at 100% right now due to his mental state. He was almost certainly holding back during this fight due to guilt and not wanting to hurt someone he so recently was friends with. This can be proven by comparing this fight with their Round 2 fight in Shinganshina. Despite Eren learning how to harden his fists, he still fights evenly against a “healthy” Reiner in this fight. Compared to Round 1, Eren actually has the upper hand against Reiner even without his hardening.
Honestly I'm fine with the colossal being CGI, imagine something that big being animated on frames with a bunch of little dudes flying around at the same frame rate
finally ive always wanted a bit more recognition for Mikasa's reflection about Reiner and Berthold. She's never been given too many moments with other characters that show her humanity. She has a few comedic moments with the girls and then it's just "i don't care about anyone else but Eren", like how she even threatens Historia and Ymir later. Albeit that was after this occurrence. Regardless, those expressions of the two cut way deeper than her blades did. The looks of terror and fear of her once-comrades. It humanizes them but also Mikasa, because for all her tough talk she still cared.
That's the one thing we're i believe his analysis is dead wrong Mikasa tried to behead both of them but couldn't because both sacrificed their arms to stop the lethal attack And Mikasa later is dead focused on killing them I that moment Mikasa didn't care about them and was only focused on killing them She even tried to finish bertholdt off once he was on the ground
So I literally just finished rewatching the whole series just for the sake of picking up on hints/concepts I might’ve missed before and even after that… I’m realizing after watching all your aot analysis vids I STILL wouldn’t have caught everything🥲 for that thank youuu these are brilliant & this is perfect timing too since the finale is coming up
Biggest mystery here is how Ymir survived being boiled for quite a while and then having the colossal with it's weight dropdown on her... Jokes aside, this is one of my favorite episodes, could make it to the top 10, just pure BLISS to rewatch!
The Dub during season 1 fumbled the Warrior line from Reiner. All the lines from where the Warriors switches from calling themselves Soldier to Warrior are missed. I can see how they missed that detail and just make all those lines just "soldiers" due to lack of context. The "You were my Hero", line from Eren. Though it works for this episode. It kinda don't fully check on some context on season 3 as Eren has a different person that he actually sees as a Hero and if I am not wrong, he only ever called Armin a "Hero" and not other characters. I do still rank the dub as one of the best anime dubs out there but there are some lines I do nitpick.
I never noticed that til you points it out this is why i love aot, little details like the veins on eren arm it just show how much WIT and MAPPA love doing this and how good this animated
i'm pretty sure eren has some line that's something like "I'm sure that no one in the history of the world has been as terrible as reiner and burrito >:(" that i always found interesting. bc while it's perfectly understandable that he thinks that, it will turn out to be completely off the mark as there is a bigger evil behind them=evil racist marley government/army that ordering child soldiers to commit war crimes and ofc eren turned out even worse than reiner and burrito :I
Reiner was never bothered by the scouts 😂 he was probably lost in thought do to the fact that he was close friends with eren. That's why he didn't rush to capture eren
I'm looking forward to your eventual analysis of the scene with Grisha and Kruger atop the walls on Paradis. I haven't yet found anyone else that has noticed this, but there's a brief flashback in that episode to Eren sitting atop the walls talking to Kruger (this is presumably where Kruger learns of Armin and Mikasa). Of course, when initially watching the show, there's no way you'd understand it, and it would probably go completely unnoticed since it only appears for a couple frames, but it blatantly shows one of the biggest twists in the show, which would only come to light years later in episode 79.
Reiner & Eren’s dynamic is so good. Honestly though I kinda wish Reiner died at the end of season 3 because it would be such huge development for everyone involved (Bertolt, Gabi, Eren etc..)
Korotos, we would love to see this type of video breakdown for Part 1 of the Attack on Titan's series finale (1 hour penultimate episode). Hange and Eren's scenes needs this type of energy !
I've mentioned the important bits in passing already (Levi's backstory, Ymir mention and a few other bits), but I might end up making some sort of more focused video on them at some point. 👍
21:51 i like the subtle implication that annie wants eren to talk to her in a certain way. maybe even a crush. also the highschool parody outright shows annie has a crush on eren
I think the reason Reiner was winning is 1. His titan his buult in brass knuckles 2. The multipliera are about the same between their bodies in base and titan forms (ie it would be very similar if they were engaging in a fist fight in their human forms) thats why Eren taking a more technique aoorach ot was like watching a well trained sikduer fight Brick Lesnar (whom Reiner is ironically based on) I like how Abbie teaching him techniques was what gave him the upper hand (and to Annies credit theres no way she could have predicted it would help him as she didnt even know he was a titan shifter) was the only reason he stood a chance
Just finished my 2nd run and I strongly felt that the warriors shouldv had a little bit more screen time in the beginning, almost like they were a second protagonist team mirroring Eren's protag team and making this relationship stronger and making/showing them being stronger and more prepared (theyre trained soldiers after all) to serve better as people to be admired by Eren, which would make Reiner's meltdown and betrayal even worse.
thing the only thing weird with the colossal being 3d has more to do with the way the texture was made more than the animation itself, the texture just looks a bit too glowy so it makes it stand out in a very strange way, but the animation itself is amazing with everyone swirling around the arm
your vids are my comfort zone (is that how you say it🧍🏻♀️) I miss aot sm but your vids make me Sooo happy I hope that you continue overanalyzing all the seasons 🫶🏻🫶🏻
Just one thing about "Lost Girls" and by that extend about "No Regrets": While they were not written by Isayama, they are approved by him and are more or less confirmed by him to be canon We see in the Manga not only Isabel and Furlan appear in one of the "The dead Soldiers looking to us"-Scene (when Levi learns in the Fortress that Eren betrayed them, while he was watching over Zeke) and the scene, where Erwin convinces Levi to join him fully, is also briefly redrawn by Isayama during Erwins reflection-scene in the "Return to Shiganshina"-Arc Also, we first learn that Annie broke the leg of her father during Lost Girls, which was later confirmed by Mr Leonhardts first appearance and by Annie talking to Hitch.
yk what never made sense to me? the fact that 30 meters of scorching hot flesh and bones that fell on top of Reiner and Eren somehow incapacitated Eren but didn't do ANYTHING at all to Reiner even though Eren had Reiner in a chokehold so that Reiner was on top of Eren so he would have been hit by the colossal's fall more so than Eren
The acene when eren is at colossal leg Eren isn't shorter, he's hunched down and leaning towards his leg. Scale isn't wrong in this shot. If he were to stand straight, he'd be up to his knee within the same shot. Look at where the knee is, look at how hunched back eren is, look at how much leaning forward is he. The scale is consistent and colossal isn't upscaled for "the sense of scalr" he's there at his true scale
I actually think the Eren vs Reiner fight does tell the details on the Annie vs Mikasa fight. It constantly flashes back to that fight while their fighting & based on the hair color you can tell who’s in what position. Once Eren is using Annie’s fighting style he begins to win (& i do believe he wouldve won even without Mikasa’s help & no interference from Bertholt). I like to think Annie won vs Mikasa showcasing that strategy & technique will usually beat raw power. Reminds me of the fight to rescue Eren from Annie in season 1. Yes Mikasa was there & was fighting Annie on her own but it wasnt until Levi came in with technique/strategy (not just his Ackerman strength) that they actaully had a chance to get him back. Levi’s very methodical with his fighting just like Annie.
My one question is why wasn't Reiner injured or hurt when the colossal fell on them? I know in season 3 he was told to lie on his back to avoid the nuke because he was exposed from his titan. Yes I also understand bertholdt didn't use his nuke when he dropped. I just don't understand how Reiner was okay.
The Norse mythology thing is not over analyzing. It was confirmed a few years back that AoT is strongly based on Norse mythology, even before season 2 came out and the manga was just in season 2 in terms of the show. There were so many connections even back then that people figured out the two were related, and it's only further confirmed by all of the recent events that are VERY strongly connected to Norse mythology. (i.e. The Yggrasil tree being the beginning of titan life. Or Eren having the flames on him in season 1 like Tyr (or Surtr, can't remember which), though it wasn't technically cannon to the manga.)
Had to pause because i think I saw a manga spoiler in one of your jokes (I have not finished the story yet, am waiting on the last episode), and I was very hurt lol
I remember someone hating on Isyama for making AoT and saying it’s nothing but violent porn and that Isyama has no talent. I was like, “What are you talking about?? It’s fine to not like something but literally everything you said is false.” 😂

There might only be 1 episode of AoT left but there's A LOT of Overanalyzing AoT episodes left
finally
ive always wanted a bit more recognition for Mikasa's reflection about Reiner and Berthold.
That's the one thing we're i believe his analysis is dead wrong
Mikasa tried to behead both of them but couldn't because both sacrificed their arms to stop the lethal attack
And Mikasa later is dead focused on killing them
I that moment Mikasa didn't care about them and was only focused on killing them
She even tried to finish bertholdt off once he was on the ground
best video series on youtube
So I literally just finished rewatching the whole series just for the sake of picking up on hints/concepts I might’ve missed before and even after that… I’m realizing after watching all your aot analysis vids I STILL wouldn’t have caught everything🥲 for that thank youuu these are brilliant & this is perfect timing too since the finale is coming up
Glad you’ve enjoyed it! ❤️
Plenty more coming very (very) soon 👀
Let's appreciate the fact that future Eren travelled in time to show past Eren the training with Annie to remind him he knows how to fight titans
13:57 Never noticed those veins on the Shingeki no Kyojin's arm before. Strong boi
I never noticed that til you points it out this is why i love aot, little details like the veins on eren arm it just show how much WIT and MAPPA love doing this and how good this animated
i'm pretty sure eren has some line that's something like "I'm sure that no one in the history of the world has been as terrible as reiner and burrito >:(" that i always found interesting. bc while it's perfectly understandable that he thinks that, it will turn out to be completely off the mark as there is a bigger evil behind them=evil racist marley government/army that ordering child soldiers to commit war crimes
and ofc eren turned out even worse than reiner and burrito :I
yh hearing eren say knowing he is about to commit genocide, probably the most evil thing a person could ever do just hurts.
Reiner was never bothered by the scouts 😂 he was probably lost in thought do to the fact that he was close friends with eren.
That's why he didn't rush to capture eren
Amazing work as ever. I rewatched the whole series because of your videos!
I love these videos! please dont stop making them untill you finished the whole show.
Been waiting for this 💪💪💪
Reiner & Eren’s dynamic is so good. Honestly though I kinda wish Reiner died at the end of season 3 because it would be such huge development for everyone involved (Bertolt, Gabi, Eren etc..)
The grappling/Jiu Jitsu in this episode is actually quite good aswell.
This series is whats keeping me going rn🫡
Korotos, we would love to see this type of video breakdown for Part 1 of the Attack on Titan's series finale (1 hour penultimate episode). Hange and Eren's scenes needs this type of energy !
Eren: *grunts*
Hange: 💦
what a gift for a long weekend
YOU KNOW ITS GONNA BE FIRE WHEN HE POSTS BRO
Best fight in any media! I was literally jumping in front of the TV screaming and nearly in tears!
28:35 because it literally is, I can’t get over that map
As you talked about the Lost Girls OVA: are you planning to talk about all the OVAS (or at least the important ones)?
I've mentioned the important bits in passing already (Levi's backstory, Ymir mention and a few other bits), but I might end up making some sort of more focused video on them at some point. 👍
@@Koroto Yeah that's why I wondered about that and if there is even enough stuff to talk about. Anyway I would very much enjoy that 👍🏽
When I tell you that this is the series I look forward to, THEEE MOST!!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
My day is instantly better
I know you always mention when you “over” over analyze! But Pls don’t stop! That’s what we’re here for😂🔥🙌🏾
Another fantastic video as always👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
All time favorite fight scene ever
That bit explaining Morse mythology and Ragnarok maybe over analyzing it however that is suspicious how similar the rumbling and ragnarok are
Excellent I love this
Ever since I saw the first over-analysis about Anne, I’ve been watching them all! Love these videos
The next part only two days after I‘ve binge-watched your series? Perfect timing. 👍
wake up new over analyzed episode dropped
thing the only thing weird with the colossal being 3d has more to do with the way the texture was made more than the animation itself, the texture just looks a bit too glowy so it makes it stand out in a very strange way, but the animation itself is amazing with everyone swirling around the arm
your vids are my comfort zone (is that how you say it🧍🏻♀️) I miss aot sm but your vids make me Sooo happy I hope that you continue overanalyzing all the seasons 🫶🏻🫶🏻
MOOOOORE Dude these are so entertaining. I dont have time to rewatch stuff anymore so this is incredibky fun!
Sometimes I think of ending it all and then Korotos drops a video
Bruh chill

Sorry guys, my cat typed that.
My absolute favorite series on RUclips, thank u for ur consistency in bringing us these masterpieces 🙌
Just one thing about "Lost Girls" and by that extend about "No Regrets":
While they were not written by Isayama, they are approved by him and are more or less confirmed by him to be canon
We see in the Manga not only Isabel and Furlan appear in one of the "The dead Soldiers looking to us"-Scene (when Levi learns in the Fortress that Eren betrayed them, while he was watching over Zeke) and the scene, where Erwin convinces Levi to join him fully, is also briefly redrawn by Isayama during Erwins reflection-scene in the "Return to Shiganshina"-Arc
Also, we first learn that Annie broke the leg of her father during Lost Girls, which was later confirmed by Mr Leonhardts first appearance and by Annie talking to Hitch.
yk what never made sense to me? the fact that 30 meters of scorching hot flesh and bones that fell on top of Reiner and Eren somehow incapacitated Eren but didn't do ANYTHING at all to Reiner even though Eren had Reiner in a chokehold so that Reiner was on top of Eren so he would have been hit by the colossal's fall more so than Eren
I NEED MORE
Hell yes! Another episode of this amazing series :)
The acene when eren is at colossal leg
Eren isn't shorter, he's hunched down and leaning towards his leg.
Reiner lands an overhand right and used the right technique for it!
Commenting to booster the video despite the age restriction
Connecting the fire giants in norse myth to the colossal titans, or just all titans being hot and steamy is very clever.
Come to think of it, when was the last time Armin narrated?
22:07 i never though of the rivalry between the three and how there personalities are so similar
i've been waiting for new episodes of this series with such excitement like waiting for a new anime ep to drop !
u r one of my fav ppl that covers aot like ur vids r too good
🙇♂️🙇♂️🙇♂️
Dont forget to cover the cook off OVA, that one was very deep and made me cry
These analysis videos are so so good. Immediately click everytime I see a new one is posted
After you finish this overanalyzing series I'm gonna binge watch it again! Might take weeks lol
Thank you for making these amazing video series chefs kiss
Love the editing in this one, Burrito the CG Titan
Had to pause because i think I saw a manga spoiler in one of your jokes (I have not finished the story yet, am waiting on the last episode), and I was very hurt lol
Nah, I haven't read the manga, so there couldn't be a manga joke in there 😂
@@Korotookay, this makes me feel better lol. I took a good long pause and almost shook my partner awake I was SHOOKETH
I love my bday present, thanks! 😂😂😂 I'm kidding, great content, as usual! Excellent ❤
I remember someone hating on Isyama for making AoT and saying it’s nothing but violent porn and that Isyama has no talent. I was like, “What are you talking about?? It’s fine to not like something but literally everything you said is false.” 😂
