That's a good reason to have it because for some reason car hire merchants charge more for deposit on a cheque/debit card than they do on a credit card (I have experienced this). And a credit card is supposed to be for emergencies and not to fund daily lifestyle so if you use it for car hire and only emergencies, I believe you will have a great experience 😀
