I’ve never been a shield user in soulsborne games but watching the crucible knights no sell everything thanks to their shields is making me greatly reconsider.
Did a run with Brass shield + guardian swordspear for aesthetics and with that build Radagon was super fun, trading guard counters back and forth n all that
I hated having to fight them, but I mad respect their skills--they're tactically very smart, have incredible poise, and have these tanky shields that diminish most incants and spells you throw at them. And their armor set is primo badass. They're very dominating against most humanoid enemies, but the problem is when they face giant monstrous enemies with huge AOE attacks, their speed is a negative against them. If they were able to spam their winged incantations more often to dodge the AOE attacks , they probably could take down most giant enemies.

It's considered skilled when a boss reads your controller input, doesn't have a stamina bar and moves straight from one attack to another in a way the player can't? They had the DragonLord but for some reason they didn't attacked that much in the end when they broke his poise. They let him stand and he smashed their heads instead.
Jesus, I remember spending hours over several gaming sessions getting through the Aurizia tomb, dodging those hell-forsaken chariots and then having to fight these two chad units at the end. It was so effing exhausting and infuriating that after I finally defeated them, I had my character slowly walk outside the tomb entrance, sit down at the edge of a cliff, and just stare mindlessly at the scenery for about ten minutes. It was THAT mentally taxing.
Yeah, but imagine wanting to kill everything on sight and die to a golden eyed one. I think they drop about 3 or 5k in farum azula, so imagine about 18 to 25k from one dude
I'm happy that they made Radagon and Elden Beast a shared fight because that is how it is in the game. So doing a BvB should include both because they are an endurance boss fight. Similar to how we keep both duos for godskin

Yep, these ones do appear to be the Farum Azula ones and you'd be correct in thinking that they're stronger than the regular ones because (outside of bosses) they have about 1.85x the HP of the next regular Crucible Knight you can find (the Leyndell ones) at 5,512 HP compared to 3,000 HP. Can't speak on their damage, but it's also a fair bit higher iirc.
Honestly one of the main things I take from this is just how beautiful some of the spectacles are that From created in this game for us. And how so many of them are a bit wasted on the fact that we stay slapping ankles for many of these fights.
I remember fighting the two nights when i was underleveled. They handed me my ass so many times but I just kept at it. Eventually I killed them by utilizing parry. Once you learn their attacks, they're easy to parry because they really telegraph their attacks.
This just goes to show how unbalanced the crucible knights are. These guys don't even have healing items and they were able to power through many end-game bosses.

I liked how neither Malekith nor Big Daddy Placi gave a shit about their overcompensating-for-something shields, even if only Placi benefitted from it in the end. Conversely, I loved how they gave no shits whatsoever about Nihil One of the few times where Fire Giant rolling away from his opponents was justified and not simply a "hey guys look, I'm mobile!" moment
I feel like some of these units literally have no chance unless they're slightly scaled to the level we would be at in those fights. Cuz obviously asv they go down the boss list they're going to be getting so much weaker and so easily beat.

I always love watching someone initiate the Godrick phase two, but then skip it entirely before the cutscene. Imagine being in utter pain, then chopping YOUR OWN AXE into your arm, causing you to scream loudly, and before you can remove your arm and replace it, you're just sniped out of existence. It'd be quite the sad way to go.

Their AI seems quite good. They made efforts to avoid or out space incoming attacks and they even displayed teamwork at times.
