Lemmy seemed genuinely proud of Rick there.
Lemmy, what a nice guy. Rest in peace brother .
Can't get over how young Lemmy looks in this video
So strange without his iconic stache.
@@3DPeter He was ruggedly handsome.
He could have easily had those growths removed but thought that it would detract from his sex appeal!
maybe compared to his last years but to see him really young checkout the Hawkwind oder early Motörhead footage of the 70s
Lemmy. What a legend. RIP
Lol Lemmy 'what is that you said'...
GENIUS!
This era of NMTB was the best.
RIP Lemmy playing with your Silver Machine where ever you are ❤️
They fought the law...

Good thing I checked if someone had already written this 😁

Is that what the song was about? haha
Lemmy seemed to be enjoying his time on a quiz show. Sorta out if character for him.
ksr9t Most guests enjoyed being on buzzcocks especially when Mark Lamar hosted
Isn't Lemmy one of the few people to ever walk off the show?
Who'd win in a fight between lenny and God?
Lenny IS God!!
Well... there're a snoozefest at the backstage.
Lemmy has always seemed to have a good sense of humor and easy going in interviews
Lemmy laughed when they said "CLASH Rpck N Roll outlaws" , so i guess he had about the same opinion of them that i did. and i did not believe for a second that they did those second two things.
Correct. Lemmy didn't like the Clash, but he did like the Sex Pistols and the Damned.
Posh boys play punk, but not the poverty that goes with it. The Clash fronted by a Diplomats kid. Lemme K cool as.
@@sunilcunningham3080 - Lemmy was the son of a vicar.
@@lmjones7716 and that means what exactly? Being a vicar doesn’t imply wealth, and additionally whilst he was more punk than most bands on the scene, Lemmy never claimed himself to be a punk
@@bensidaway3343 - They all want to be a 'working class hero' though and most rock stars exaggerate their impoverished backgrounds. Even Lemmy.
Lemmy was so quick. What a legend. RIP.
How can they have thought that the Clash won? Everyone knows that the Clash fought the law and the law won!
Exactly that was an obvious one, Lemmy probably knew that.
RIP Sean + Lemmy
2 actual legends on that show at once that evening, lemmy and mani
I love how the host mentions The Kids. Belgian's biggest punk band from that time.(known for many hits like "There will be no next time", "fascist cops", "Bloody Belgium", "This is rock n roll",...)
We wish
Just played with them two days ago!
Is this the episode where Lemmy does a Preston & walks out,, just as the end credits are rolling.

Lemmy was brilliant!!!
The clash fought the law
You see we never got to see anything of Lemmy like on a variety show in the states(US), only short interviews. I feel robbed of some good entertainment.
"Being robbed of good entertainment" is a pretty apt description of the desolate landscape that is american variety shows.
@@theothertonydutch hahaha!! That's the word alright...And we were supposed to be "against" communism. Looks like 50s Russia to me and we have to hide our rock n roll records lest we be thrown in a smaller box
Dreadful people...

How do these people sleep at night?
Very comfortably
On high thread count, freshly laundered pillowcases.
They’ll go straight to hell for that theft

Lemmy on this show - a king among knaves.
I remember seeing this. Lemmy said at the start Is this whimsical? I also recall Mark Lamarr giving Lemmy a bollocking when he went to light up a cigarette. If you didn't know Mark is a massive fan of the film Blazing Saddles which is where he got his 2nd name from. I'm looking for the show with Vic Reeves where he got his revenge on Vic....
That’s series 4 episode 1, with fan tan diddly span and chris moyles!
🎵 HEAAAALTH AND DAAAAAANGERRRR 🎵
Lemmy never asked if the show was whimsical on the broadcast show itself. It was from an anecdote by Phill a couple of years later.
Now we all know that Lemmy stormed off during retakes, but Phill also revealed on the show in 2003 (and repeated on Big Fat Quiz in 2012) that Lemmy had an entourage with him full of roadies and groupies with bottles of Jack Daniels, and as they stormed out of the studio, fellow guest Richard Fairbrass approached Phill and quipped that Lemmy was perhaps "overcompensating for something."
This show was brilliant
Definitely think Mark Lamarr was the best host.
That's what inspired the Clash song, "I fought the law and the law won"....for nicking frilly pillowcases... ;-0
They only covered that song, the original was by the Bobby Fuller Four
Was it not Guns on the Roof?
Lemmy the legend ❤
Geeza. Royalty.
"I needed Pillows cause' I, had none, I fought the law and the law won!"
LEMMY.....If you got to see Lemmy preform with Motorhead, you are one of a very small group of people "7billion"remember,that saw thee GOD of RocknRoll.
Autually, wot the fuck am I doing writing this wen if you knew Motorhead I dont need to fukn write anything.
YOU FUCKERS ALREADY KNOW,
LEMMY-I Miss him.I miss his music-nothing compares.I miss his Stage shows.I miss his witt and amazingly intelligent one line comebacks.
Lemmy may have been Born to Lose but Lemmy never got the message cause this bad arse Rock n Roll Muthafuka RIPPED IT THE FUCK UP and lived one HELL of a life that possably will NEVER be matched.
The World is a sadder place without him in it.

Has Phil Jupitus ever done anything else other than this show?
Unfortunately yes. I've seen him be equally as funny on QI
All hail.
This episode is from March 1998
I fought the law and the law won - my frilly pillow cases
the is the episode that Fairbrass said that Lemmy was compensating...
I saw a program about UK number 1 singles and for whatever reason they had Fairbrass talking about Iron Maiden's "Bring your daughter to the slaughter" and he said something like "what a pathetic try hard song title". This is the cunt from Right Said Fred, he doesn't have the right to criticize any one else's music.
That Iron Cross on his chest though

Lemmy from mole on head!!
Phil Taylor auditioned for Clash, and Lemmy knows it.
but he couldnt play reggae pop.
Philthy Animal was too *MAGNIFICENTLY OVERKILLING* for The Clash!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If *hypothetically,* he (the Grizzly Hasland/Thumber/Leeds Teddy Bear Skin Thumper who never swore..... *SHIT FUCKER BUGGER ARSEHOLE CUNT HE NEVER FUCKEN CARED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)* did get the fucken job on a perma basis, they'd have to be an Amphetaminered Heavy Metal Band, Joe Strummer would have to change his name to either fucken Joe Shredder or Joe Speedfreak, Paul Simonon would have his hair long and become a Loonhouse hangin round the Soundhouse and Give Em Enough Rope would've sounded like well..... *ACE OF MUTHAFUCKEN SPADES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!*
@@davidbolger2000AD Apparently he dragged his massively overblown kit down several flights of stairs to a basement where he was rejected for being a bad fit for what the emerging Clash wanted (they didn't slag the bloke off) and he then had to drag the lot back up again. Now they thought he was over killing too, but as far as I know neither the Clash nor 'head ever thought ill of each other. Punk, Metal, Psychobilly, Rockabilly, and **insert your personal experience here** (who the hell is this 'Ice T' bloke?) met under the gaze of one Lemmy Kilminster. And a good, if somewhat loud, time was had by all.
What was Mani doing at the end?
Presenting lemmy a gold disc if I recall correct 👍🏻
Lemmys toe is more rock and roll than anything the clash did. Considering motorhead are a rock and roll band, they're 10x more punk than the clash ever were.
Animals is the most punk album ever by a long chalk. Punks were mostly useless.
Lemmy is God.
I fought the law
And the won
You must mean: I fought The The
And The The won
Lemmy was the best.
painful
Is it just me or does it seem like Lemmy said a whole bunch, but it wasn't deemed funny enough, so it was cut?
shaun hughes here aswell is dead also
Lemmy also walked out cause mark was pissing him off
Yet rather hilariously didn't do it until after they'd finished shooting which is why if you can track down the original episode you never see him leave. I think the only reason people know he left is because Mark himself mentioned it in a later episode.
@@MythicSuns Probably split because he hadn't had a drink and a gasper for 20 minutes. Can hardly blame him. The producers should have had the courtesy and manners to have a J&C on the desk for him at least.
He walked because they were disrespectful to the girls in the line-up round.
Did they steal the mints as well
I thought the pillow cases at first,
I wish it had subtittles.
Rock on Lenny

When Buzzcocks used to be good (although I find the laugh track really annoying). Lemmy, what a nice human being. RIP..
It’s a live audience
This show was as funny as a bad case of piles even lemmy had to reduce his i.q by 60 points just to fit in
The law won
The Clash were a pop band like Green Day. All the punks did the trench work and The Clash played the watered down image like The Monkees and KISS did in their time.
You're telling me mate. They weren't a REAL punk band, not like blink 182 ❤
No
You fucking idiot how on earth are The Clash a pop band?
Wow, so Joe Strummer really had fought the law, and the law won.
Now I know why I never watched it ,,,unless it’s dated?
WHO Are the Guys next to LEMMY?
Exactly, when Lemmy shows up, somebodies become nobodies!
Shit i,ve just saw the answer and shit, i was right, i know they was,nt it all the main stream shit most the others were up to, hotel stuff etc, put pillows is a new one on me, we as in rock stars nicking them,
Lemmy must have been grinding his teeth in his mind every second, smiling fixedly and playing along for his paycheque as he thought to himself: "I remember when rock was just beer and puke and tunes ie honest and alive, and not the fenced off sandpit full of spoiled talent-deficient phonies that are sitting around me cackling mindlessly. I used to jam with Bon Scott and Phil Lynott and Deep Purple, and now I'm trapped in a pansy garden full of corporate stick figures. I want to vomit. "
Who's a corporate stick figure?
Nah, lemmy has always been easy going and funny as shit. Imagined he thought "why the hell not"?!
Famous corporate stick figure, Mark Lamarr.
That's only Mani sitting across the room from him.
"you´re dead if your on television" ( johnny rotten )..
rotten himself kicked his own ass into it later. punk was dead long before.
the movement was sold by selfish idiots, the meaning was counteracted.
h.m.
He shoulda pissed on the set then walked
I can never understand this obsession people have with lemmy every interview or documentary i see on him hes boring. He tries to say funny things but just ends up sounding cringe.
awkward
Metalers are known to have the worst dress sense in the world but ffs, Lemmy looks catwalk compared to the rest of these buzzcock's
In what universe are the clash punk, they're not exactly the Sex Pistols.
They were considered one of the seminal English punk bands, you probably only know their later, poppier hits. In comparison to the Sex Pistols (who most true punk aficianados deride as being manufactured - look into "Malcolm Mclaren" - and purely about "image" [even Johnny Rotten states this in numerous interviews]) they had real musical and lyrical talent (that's not a diss to Rotten/Lydon - I do think he's a smart man but not the most subtle lyric writer). The Punk scene eventually lead to, and gave way to, "New Wave" (songs that often had strong social commentary and dark lyrical content but were poppier in style and made great use of emerging technology such as synthesis). The Clash were - in their later years - one of the bridges between these two genres, adopting a poppier musical style. This is why they appear to the average punter as being more a rock/pop band than a punk band. Even the Police had punk roots and leanings and the poppy genres of reggae and ska were adopted by alot of bands with punk beginnings.
@@3rdEyeWide Strummer was a long haired pub rocker till he saw the Pistols. Look into "Bernie Rhodes " for the Clash sloganeering. You seriously telling us Jones/Matlock / Cook havent got musical talent?
Aljax79 Johnston They were punk in their earlier days, before their well-known hits started dropping
@@PBL187 OK thanks will check out some earlier clash.
@@alexjohnston8889 Bit of a swerve but that Aussie band Midnight Oil did punk in their earlier days as well, their first 2 albums I believe (the songs Run By Night, Used and Abused, and Surfing With A Spoon are great punk tracks by them). Completely different from their 80s hits
Lamarr want a good smack in the face...
There just having a laugh
Lamarrr is being disrespectful to Lemmy & he is definitely being snide to him...Lamarr is a shit comedian & wasnt fit to polish Lemmy's boots...
So what was he supposed to do? Treat him like a god? That wouldn't make a very good comedy show now would it? Lamarr respects very few living people. He has made that quite clear. Anyone who signs up for the show is fair game for jab or two if Mark thinks they could use an ego check. If Lemmy had any delusions about being treated differently, then that's on him.
+royalparadigm And Lemmy wouldn't have had any such delusions, because he actually had a sense of humour, unlike our friend Chopper here.

As if clash shit on motorhead 🤣 They're both great bands, but there is a clear favourite for me of the two.
They have a few decent tracks but The Clash were wankers, especially Headon. p.s. I knew it was the pillow cases.

@@matthewwilson3202 to be fair if they became famous anytime before or after the UK Punk scene (76-78ish) I don’t think they would have got half the flak they did but as a 14 year old growing up Lydon, Siouxsie Sioux and a few others spoke to me whereas to me any my mates the Clash were a bunch of posh boys talking politics - probably liked by University students but not teenagers (at least where I lived).
