    Beautiful video, too bad no time for stop at Olmsted Point...beautiful views from there watching climbers going up Half Dome courtesy of the Park Rangers telescope...and a view of Tenaya Lake...after a short hike up the granite hill. We have been here a few rimes and found this entrance or exit rt120 (tioga road) to be without a doubt the most scenic....

    My favorite 11 mile short drive from 395 to Tioga Lake and back. The drive back down the mountain is a bit scary so you really have concentrate on the road.

      Ha! It’s definitely a balance between taking in the scenery and staying focused on the road!

      One of my favs! If you can get a reservation now is great time to go. They've limited the park to 20% capacity!

      @@DayTripAdventure It's been awhile for me. I visited California for the first time back in 2017 and drove up from North Hollywood and camped out on two different trails, Mono Pass and in the nearby Inyo National Forest but I definetly want to go back. The scenery was spectacular!

      Sounds like an epic trip! When we went they were restricting the amount of people I'm the park. It was neat to see it that way. I hope to go again this summer. Where are you from?

    • @doarelectroni

      @@DayTripAdventure I'll bet the limit of people allowed in the park made it pretty nice and allowed for more solitude. I live in Asheville,NC and play in the mountains out here, I visited my brother who lives in North Hollywood and fulfilled my goal of visting Yosemite while there. In my latest RUclips video, the first three scenes are from that Yosemite trip.

      Super cool! I need to head out to the East coast some day. I'll check your video out. I have a new one going up tonight. Red rock state park and Alabama Hills. We hike, more of a stroll really to Mobias arch made famous by Instagram cuz you can frame Mt Whitney in the arch.

      @@DayTripAdventure I might be headed back to Yellowstone next week or so. Was there in June before my Jeep motor blew. Had to get another Jeep and adjust my plans. No reservation needed there thankfully and so much less crowded than in the past.

    Hi!! thanks for the video! I have a question, i'm going to visit next mont and i'm goint to take the same route, from las vegas to yosemite and i'm worried because i don't know if there are gas stations in the way, what can youi tell me about that? thanks!

    • @DayTripAdventure
      @DayTripAdventure  2 года назад +1

      There’s a gas station on the corner of tioga pass and highway 395 in Lee Vining before you start heading up the mountain. There’s another gas station inside the park on the corner of Tioga Pass and big oak flat rd. It expensive so I avoid if I can.

    I love this drive, but hate it when they close the road due to seasonal closure.

    • @DayTripAdventure

      I know right! Would be cool for it to be open year round but I'm sure it would require a ton of work.
