Though not normally a fan of Wikipedia they do have some interesting information on the subject of rood screens. Worth taking a look at before it disappears down the memory hole.

Rood screens can be found in churches in many parts of Europe; however, in Catholic countries they were generally removed during the Counter-Reformation, when the retention of any visual barrier between the laity and the high altar was widely seen as inconsistent with the decrees of the Council of Trent. Accordingly, rood screens now survive in much greater numbers in Anglican and Lutheran churches; with the greatest number of survivals complete with screen and rood figures in Scandinavia.

According to the book “Liturgical Space: Christian Worship and Church Buildings in Western Europe 1500-2000” by Nigel Yates, the Council of Trent did not specifically prohibit rood screens. However, with the introduction of liturgical reforms including the Missale Romanum of 1570, rood screens came to be viewed as barriers between the congregation and the priest. Some survived including the famous one at Saint-Etienne-du-Mont in Paris. Another example is at the cathedral of Albi in southern France. A few original screens have also survived in England despite the reordering of churches during the English Reformation. In fact, rood screens are still fairly common in Anglican churches, but most date to the Oxford Movement of the 19th century and the ecclesiology and neo-medievalism promoted by the Cambridge Camden Society.

Unfortunately nowadays in the Novus Ordo Parishes, there is no Sanctuary with Altar Rails guarding the Holy of Holies.
The Laity just trample all over the place. Just Shameful.

I have been to several Novus Ordo Masses, and not once have gone laity just freely walked all over the Holy of Holies where the Altar is. Stop lying, Rad Trad.

@@reverendcoffinsotherson5807 Are not the so called Eucharistic Ministers Laity? Only the Priest and Altar Boys are allowed in the Sanctuary. And not so called Altar Girls which is Feminism. The political ideas of the World. And the reason why the Novus Ordo has a shortage of Priest is Self Affliction.
The Novus Ordo Altar Boys and Girls don't do much of anything except bring the Water and Wine to the Priest. In the Traditional Mass the Altar Boys recite much of the Liturgy in Latin which helps to encourage possible Priesthood in the future.
While in the Novus Ordo they just kind of stand or sit there waiting to bring the Water and Wine. No real partisapation as in the Traditional Mass. For your Information the Architect of the Novus Ordo Mass was a Freemason. Archbishop Bulgini. This is well documented.
I would like to recommend two book for you to read. Infiltration by Dr Taylor Marshall and Murder In The 33rd Degree by Fr Charles Murr. They are not expensive. Then you will understand what has been going on since Vatican ll. May The Lord Saturate Your Soul With The Holy Spirit. 🔥✝️🙏

I'm okay with rood lofts (and screens if its a thin fence) the people need to be able to see the elevations so i have no liking for big tood screens which totaly block the view. Also if you have an alter piece of the ressurection it can be a powerful symbol as you come up for communion. Going thru the cross into the ressirection.

Ppl say bring back the communion rails..i say bring back the rood screens..bring back the huge, thick stone pulpitums, in addition to the rood screen..and in addition to this, some churches in the medieval period had another screen, in front of the rood screen and pulpitum..a triple demarcation..I say, BRING ALL THREE BACK!!!..time to bring back some reverence and mystery where reverence and mystery is due..long overdue..God bless Mary protect +++
