The new LV is definitely well made and high quality but the thing I don't like about it is the ultimate roundness in the design, everything is curved and round and soft edged, the exact opposite design language of the AP and Vacheron, which I love so much. The other thing about LV that push me away from it, is the way LV trying too hard to push their new product, it's not organic, they should let the product speak for itself and finds its own admirers rather than spending way too much on pushing the product. They should make more models, different designs and give the audience a room to breath. I mean even their collab with Rexhep was a failure in my opinion, because of the things I mentioned earlier. Seems like LV is in a rush, they want to compete with the best of the best that have so much history, and they want to do that in a very short period of time, that's the root of all the problems with LV the way I see it.

I completely agree. Their marketing on the new Tambour seems too much and inorganic. Really pushes the new clients away.

Whilst comparing the Tambour to the two of the greatest watches of all time is quite Apple and oranges . Revolution is making it pretty obvious that this is a endorsement not a review.

What does Rev get out of endorsing the Tambour?

Most watch publications like Revolution have a partnership with brands that’s what keeps them going. Obviously a giant in the watch journalism world like revolution, Hodinkee are going to have deals to promote products 💁

@@user-ki1pz7kv6iwell Hodinkee gets a boost whenever they promote a watch that “happens” to be in their shop. You think this video is essentially a paid ad?

I won’t call it and AD and I must say Revolution has some absolutely incredible content. But with the Tambour they are clearly trying to promote it and getting paid for it.

Great ad, but I’d rather put my $19,000 towards a different brand.

Once you put it next to the two legends you realize just how bland the LV design really is. Does absolutely nothing for me.

You should ask someone that doesn't know watches to pick.

222 looks much better. Also I hear that the LV watch is very wearable.

I love the Cartier Ballon Bleu 42mm, which this LV reminds me of. Very underrated, so you can get it for a steal.

I love it, it’s classic and simple. And I would love to have this conversation with Eleanor having breakfast in Italy on the balcony of a lovely suite.

Nice interview. I find that Wei speaks a bit too quickly at times. So the best thing for me was to change the playback speed to 0.75 😀

LV - no. AP - maybe. VC - yes. EP - hell yes.

I know Louis Vuitton is investing heavily to make a name for itself in the watch industry. My issue with the Tambour is that the dial is rather ordinary like the Rolex 1908 and not really impressive. Love to see guilloche or sunburst type dials. Patek should be the style to borrow design clues for dress watches, not Rolex.

The Rexhep LV 10 pieces limited release is what they should have done in 5000 pieces 60-80k each but instead of these underwhelming pieces

Awesome Wei , but LV seems not much character , not iconic at all , only the name . Their specialize in bags not watches , but cross over with VC , AP or Breguet, Blanpain etc , which is save the energy n make it more unique. LV watch History is not strong enough to convince the collectors.

Tried on a Tambour recently. Well made and excellent fit/finish. However, the styling is rather BLAND. Look at the other 2 watches you were comparing it to…they both have very distinct and original designs. Reminds me of the Code 11:59 release. Lots of publicity, etc, but average product. Certainly hope LV jazzes up the Tambour likeAP has with the Code in the future!
