For dual booters, I just spent two weeks on this. The default of your install disk when talking to your motherboard bios is to install a legacy boot manager. If you're using a new Linux distro, you probably won't be able to dual boot one legacy, and one UEFI. You have to access the motherboard's bios menu (during startup), and boot the Win install disk (apparently this works but I couldn't get it to) or the USB install disk IN UEFI, then install a UEFI windows OS. It's a whole different type of partitions created, etc. This (creating a UEFI install USB stick with Rufus) broke the bottleneck for me: ruclips.net/video/QC_qKKFYAcc/видео.html . Then, you can go dual boot in your mobo menu for UEFI systems only.
Thanks so much. I have a weird asus motherboard so it was a little different but I deleted the boot keys which automatically changed it to disabled and it worked
Thank you so much for the informative video! ❤️ Just a question, sorry if it sounds stupid. Will disabling secure boot result to the PC booting in legacy mode? Like... once I disable secure boot, can I still boot in UEFI? Or will it boot in legacy mode? Thanks!
mohamed irfan mohamed irfan try re installing PhoenixOS then some kind of window will open up and say "successfully installed" or something like that then click reboot now that is what I did
DIsclaimer: This video is for HP PCs only (HP PCs use Insyde BIOS, not AwardBIOS or AMIBIOS or SecureCore BIOS). Notice the screen on 1:13 . The BIOS/UEFI setup key differs between different PC/mainboard manufacturers and BIOS/UEFI firmware deveopers.
After UEFI firmware setting i must click on restart then I have to get the black startup menu. Where I have to click on F10 for bios setup. This black startup menu does not appear? I end up in the normal bios. I use Windows10 Home. * 64
Having the same problem now. Cloned a Samsung ssd from my hdd. Was booting from the ssd fine for a long time. Now it boots from the hdd and when i go to uefi it just boots normal or the boot fails black screen. Intermittent power on and off.
Just in case it's of any use for somebody..I solved the issue by changing boot option to linux distro..there's an option named 'UEFI Hard Disk Drive BBS priorities'in the bios boot section of my motherboard...Once Ubuntu option is selected first and windows boot second, I had no more problems. The system boots in the multiboot ubuntu grub screen..Then you select either Ubuntu or windows
+DEE Z (DEEP DAS) thank you. I 've checked it but it's huma-huma "eureka" gives me something different . Many of the songs you use in your tutorial are great
I have been using Ubuntu 19.10 and had no problem configuring install USB boot drive, used Netbootin on a Mint machine worked flawlessly. Windows does everything possible not to emulate a linux shell -- Never liked windows including 10 (at least 10 has anti virus software and the need for Norton's ram-hog anti virus malware is no longer needed)
The use interface varies and you’ve to find the video that matches your interface. I’m win8 but this interface worked for me while another video that had win8 interface didn’t.
My PC is Acer Aspire ES1431-C7HZ. I attempted to disable the secure boot 4 times already but upon reaching the BIOS>BOOT tab>Secure Boot is using the up and down arrow the secure boot can't be highlighted. The cursor just jumps to the next option lower. If I press Enter upon reaching the UEFI in the Boot tab a small window pops up there is a choice of UEFI and Legacy. Is there any way for me to disable the secure boot in my pc? The video presentation on how to disable secure boot simply doesn't apply to my pc. Can anyone help me, please?
Friend, I have been searching for the answer to this for two years, I finally figured it out, if you go to security, and set a password, it let's all the option's be changed, it's the tab to the left of the secure boot I think

There’s another way to enter Advanced Options
1. Restart your PC 3 - 2 Times
2. Click on Advanced Options

No one seems to wish to answer this one. I hate win10!
Select Start Up settings
Just press shift f1+f2
Search it in options. That’s how I found it!
Will this save so every time I start up my pc, it’s boots with it off? Or is this like the safety mode that had to be started every time I start up?
