I have a 1969 Camaro RS that I bought when I was 19 I'm 66 now. I just have one question. Aren't the other models worth anything? I've watched a LOT of RUclips and all anyone ever talks about is the top of the line 69's. The Z/28, the Z/28 RS, the COPO's ect.... Well some of us happen to have very nice original cars. Not at the top, but not at the bottom either. Why don't we talk about some of them for a change? You might be surprised at how many of us are out here. Now that the Camaro is out of production and will never return as we know it. The lesser models out here owned by us old hands would really like to talk about those. And their value in the future. No disrespect intended, love you channel I'm just giving you a little food for thought and 2 thumbs up. P.S. That's me in the thumb nail, a little younger but leaning on the same care and always will be! LOL
I just got handed a 1969 Z/28 302DZ from my dad. Hasn't been touched in 30 years! I'm redoing the original tires right now and then a paint job. I'm super excited!
beautiful, my dad owns a phantom green with the rs package 1969 z/28 camaro all original and numbers matching with a little rust spots near the bottom left by the left tire. His other camaro is a1969 ss camaro convertible that was stolen and that we found back a couple weeks later. We are still fixing it up!
I own a 1969 RS that I bought when I was 19 I'm now 66. It's under lock and key all the time. It's in great shape and I'll leave it to my son. Glad your dad got his SS back, hope it wasn't too trashed he must have been going nuts when it happened. That's me with it in the thumb nail. Mines a driver that's the only way to truly enjoy a classic. I get a lot of thumbs up lol pure enjoyment...Isn't that's what life is all about when a person retires??? Take care!
Basically, this $174,995 Restomod '69 Camaro is a completely new car right down to the new frame and completely new drive train and suspension with a 1969 Camaro body attached on top. Seems wildly over-priced to me but somebody paid nearly $200,000 for it so I guess the old saying is true. "Something is 'worth' whatever someone will pay for it."
It's not that they're a lie but with Covid and the chip shortage causing a global void of new car inventory, the last 30 years of track record are no longer necessarily valid. Even new Kia's are going for $3-8K over sticker, that never happened in the past 30 years either. It's 2022 and almost every new car lot in the country is lucky to be 10% full....the last 30 years does not apply in this current market.
The Guy That Bought One In The 1980s For Banana Pricing Is Probably Laughing At Us All Now. The resto mod concept has its place I guess, but it’s a shame that they destroyed a ‘69 Z-28 to do it. They could have done the same thing starting with a base model 6 cylinder car and preserved the Z-28. Without the 302 engine and 4 speed, it is no longer a Z-28.
If you just want a fast car that you don’t have to do anything to, yup I agree. A 69 has more style and Im able to work on it myself without a computer. I’ll stick with my 69.
There's a lot of people who want the modern powertrain, A/C and every other convenience an LS swap enables but of course this isn't the preference for the purists
@@barnabyjones5161 key word being modern A/C, which is a world of difference from the very first A/C systems offered on these Camaros. If you put a modern A/C unit on the original powertrain, it causes a noticeable drop in power. With a modern LS, the modern A/C has minimal affect on performance.

Very nice! You'll have fun with that.
1967 Front Grill is the Badass Version !! Imo it’s the Best looking
Very good video you guys crushed it
Thank you. We plan to have more content like this soon...stay tuned!
I love the “Resto Mod” concept. Where do you get your cars to begin the process?
The majority of our inventory is consigned by our customers
“Improve with modern day styling” literally not possible

Must not have heard of vice grip garage
I have and they are great but I prefer ScottieDTV and this channel.
Outstanding and informative video
Thank you! We stride to make a video content informative for everyone.

Those are two mean machines Corvetteboyz approved.
Couldn't agree more!

Ill guarantee if I had the money I would by it in a heartbeat.

The Best Camaro 1969
It is a beauty!
Always a fan of classic Chevys with LS power….
Couldn't agree more!
So you are saying that restomods are actually worth the build cost now, and the last 30 years of auction values are a lie?

True, it's better to get rid of more of the 6 cylinder motors than the 302's but some still prefer a Z-28 VIN and badging on their restomods
Prettiest car that ever been built
do you know the wheel name at 5:55?
For specifics on these vehicle reach out to our sales team at sales@streetsideclassics.com
It's called "wheel."

Enough said Resto Mod👍👍
👌👌
Rather have a 67 or 68 Camaro
Dark Hunter green metallic? Uh, the factory color is Fathom green.
Obviously this owner preferred that color over the factory color, to each their own
Just get a 17-21 Zl1 if you want to go fast. Leave the 1969 alone
Very true! Some people want the modern power in the classic body though

great presentation by the host... but the shitty music is way too loud
Because it’s cheaper than the mustangs and chargers/challengers of the same era.
It depends on the spec, not necessarily true 100%
nice car's, i know. meet my Copo was yellow ugly, now midnight blue. 427 baby....
Nice choice on the midnight blue but I bet that yellow turned a lot of heads!
Bookmark old car you car!

It’s not first gen it’s 2nd gen
It's 1st gen: www.classic.com/m/chevrolet/camaro/1st-gen/
The real question is why do they keep ruining them with LS swaps..

Ugliest Camaro ever built.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder!
To me, it’s the best looking Camaro by far. There hasn’t been a decent looking camaro since third generations IMO.
@@miker6270 A lot of people including many of our customers agree with you too!
