That's a very uninformed question. It wouldn't end the war. Why doesn't Israel release all of its hostages? Why did Israel blow up the last deal that Hamas agreed to in which they would have given back the all of the hostages? Answer to that one is simple. It's because Israel doesn't want an end to to the war. They don't care about getting the hostages back. Hamas could have released the hostages months ago and the only thing that would be different is that the hostages would be free to tell netenyahu what they really think of him bombing the crap out of them for 7 months (probably another reason he doesn't want them back). I'm sick of this talking point all it is is a demonstration that so many haven't been paying attention at all to anything about this conflict, especially the negotiations. Israel has always maintained that a release of the hostages will not end the war. Why Hamas doesn't release them is because they probably feel (incorrectly) that the hostages are critical to ending the war and if not they can use them to trade for Israeli held hostages. So what incentive do they have to release the hostages again?
