I appreciate Eds photos the Elvis World would be poorer without them. I enjoy the Elvis books interviews and documentaries featuring people who knew and worked with Elvis so many have passed away without us having their story in an official capacity the still alive pool is getting ever smaller. My hobby horse since the 90s is trying to get the people who worked on the movies stories are many are dead and the chance has gone. That's why the lack of extras on Elvis official DVD and Blu Ray really frustrates me. Like hell it's not just about cut scenes and songs and alternative endings and outtakes. It's about showing a bit of love and finding out New things.

In 4:56 The "Tearing my wrist up" concert was Jacksonville / Florida Date: April 16 - 1972, Evening Show Pyramid Jumpsuit. Elvis On Tour confused people by having him end the show in the Pinwheel suit then cut to the Pyramid Jumpsuit rushing in the limo. In the limo where he comments about the bracelet.

Sad to hear Ed passed away …so many people with connection to Elvis have passed. Thanks ..never knew this book existed. Btw I managed to order Strictly Elvis volume 2 from Keith Alverson and signed by him. Amazing photos ! Saw an interview with him by a channel and they gave his contact info. Amazing book..7 pounds ! EAP should interview him. He has great stories .

Am commenting as I listen to you talking, hence a trail of posts from me. Your last few remarks about the books that have been written about Elvis are excellent - the more that has been written about Elvis by people that knew him, the more we the fans can learn about him. I love the books written by the MM guys, Elvis's family - cousins, uncles, girlfriends etc. and people that worked with Elvis. As you pointed out, each person has their particular memories of Elvis, but memories get fuzzy over time, so the stories can differ. I've read over 200 books about Elvis now, and think I can sort out the truth from the rubbish in most cases.
I am more sceptical about books written by journalists, ie Jerry Hopkins, Peter Guralnick, Alanna Nash, Albert Goldman etc. because they all have one purpose - to make money out of their books. I find most of those books patronising, even insulting to Elvis, even if they are factually authentic (some of them aren't). Then there are the awful books written by women who claim to be Elvis' one true love, have had a baby from him, etc. UGH🤬

I read somewhere that when discussing what to wear for the Aloha show one of the Memphis Mafia suggested the Thunderbird suit and Elvis reacted "What does that bird have to do with America?"..lol

Thanks for the flip through of this book. It is one that I have heard a lot about and would love to get hold of but like a lot of the best photo books, it is getting harder to find and more expensive by the day. I stopped the video at 4.19 to read the write up by Ed, and was crying by the time I'd finished. I know you guys probably don't understand a girl's point of view when it comes to Elvis, but this text was obviously written from the heart, especially the last paragraph. "Elvis was just a man but he was a man for all people and for all seasons".
I get extremely irritated by some fans who gripe over certain aspects of Elvis - his music in the 50's compared to his music in the 70's, his weight, his girlfriends, his entourage, his management. They seem to forget the man himself, who gave the best years of his life to his fans with his music. That is all we need to know.

There was a second Ed Bonja book called "Spotlight On Elvis - the Photographic work of Ed Bonja". It was in a cardboard slip cover, produced by Snowmans Publications. I saw it on The Elvis Shop London website. But they didn't have any copies for sale. They do have Shot By Ed Bonja for about fifty pounds, and I found a paper back copy on Amazon for US$260, which was going to cost me nearly A$500 if I bought it, so I backed off..

Seems the only one who tarnished his legacy is Priscilla. She changes story, her movie wad terrible, full of inconsistencies , makes him look awful, alot of lies, but yet he s the love of her life, wants to be buried next to him. Sad, she's despicable, full of B.S. I wish someone one expose her for her true self

I know Cilla is a more popular character in the Elvis due to the marrage, daughter and divorce but Let's not forget the Stanley brothers and their Mother.

Totally agree with @user-vy6nc7yq3z. Which is why I did one single video on my channel, The First and Last Time I mention Priscilla. I am an Elvis fan - just Elvis, his music, his movies and his stage shows - not his exwife and her soap opera life stories. I wish fans would just stop talking about her, featuring her on their channels.
