This is a great review! Thank you in particular for 1) comparing with another modern Rex, the Gulper and the Kenner, 2) and bringing the Kenner packaging.
I love the real feel return! I wish this were the Lost World throwback. I would still get it though........ IF they didn't make it SO red. Mattel has a compulsion to use hideously unnatural colors. If they stayed true to the original colors I'd be 100000% on board
I'm loving the Jurassic Park 30th anniversary Red T-Rex and she's gorgeous toy and I only have one thing to see all the nails and the toenails done on all the mattel toys
The "Electronic Real Feel Tyrannosaurus Rex Jurassic Park 30th Anniversary" would be much better with especially the smaller and shorter feet (the feet 1/3 or 1/4 shorter than the head would be enough), and maybe jaws slightly longer.
I was so excited to get the new red rex, but it was so problematic for me. I went to three different Targets since kids had messed up the few they had in stock, physically damaging the figures with two even covered in food. That or me being picky with the tail alignment and paint. I finally found a perfect one though and it was totally worth it! It's currently my favorite dinosaur toy, which is fitting since my old red rex was my original favorite, now they can be friends. You are right with the muted color of the original, it was always like that though. I don't know if anyone else has mentioned yet, but the original red rex toy is based on the colors of T-rex from the book. That is also why the human action figures look nothing like the film, Kenner started making the toys based on book descriptions of both the T-Rex and humans before the film was even finished. Fun fact number two is that the original red rex used the CGI model of the T-rex from the first movie, they just sent it right over and the toy was created from it directly. So it is, amusingly enough, the most film accurate T-rex model we've ever had. However when they sent over the CGI model it was in the default T-pose with stiff legs and arms, instead of standing in a natural posture, and they just used that as-is. This is why the arms are in the famous awkward pose, so we get a T-posing T-rex! The world's ultimate T-rex one might say.
They didn’t use the CGI model for the original red rex. They used the Stan Winston maquette which was a downscale of the animatronic they used for the practical effects.
The sounds are a mix between the real sounds and the way the old one sounded. I'm not sure if I'll get this or not. My original is the biggest piece in my collection. Now did you know in the novel it was actually reddish brown in color?
The Hammond collection became really hard to get in the UK so I haven't been able to get and review any more of them and youtube has been really awkward too and demonitized me.
I know I’m not from your country but I’m very happy Because the toys in my country my country is New Zealand it’s pretty small but the toys $99 and I want to get it quickly as I get it I’m gonna get it from New Zealand if I catch a wasp or a B with a grapple on Easter it’s Easter today I will get 100 bucks
I love the new Jurassic Park 93' mattel version of the new Jurassic Park T-Rex Mattel really did a good job on the red tyrannosaurus Rex but one flaw I don't like the button batteries they get hot too fast seriously I would rather have the standard double a batteries also there is three buttons the hips and I thought it it only have one buttons but it have three buttons on the between the hips 🙄
This is the worst action feature. Hated it with Bull. That should have just had a layer of rubber over a hard plastic body form so it's not a hollow squish toy thing. And the damn scan code things now are horrible just like the attack damage has always been. I've always filled them when I could. I'll stick with getting Rexy figures and do some simple resculpting and repainting to have a Red, Bull, Buck, Doe and a few other ones.
I'm not a fan of the hollow body and belly hole either. That's why I don't ever use it on this toy and end up warping the shape. There is no need for it really as the figure will come back out of the mouth without the need for the stomach gaping open.
The ford explorer is a recreation from a cancelled series 2 repaint of the kenner one.
That's right, along with the scutosaurus. Glad to see they actually went with some stuff they never released.
The fact the camera man is able to get close to these massive creators is outstanding
I’m ready to get this and make it my favorite Rex!
*never had the 93 Kenner Rex
Good to have you back Rodster

I actually like the brightness of the new color
Not too shabby.

In The Lost World novel, female Tyrannosaurs are larger than the male Tyrannosaurs.

-_-

@@teamhavocaz Ah even better! Stan Winston was a legend!

Oh that's interesting so maybe influenced why the original toy is that color. I thought Kenner just made it red to be more vibrant for kids
@@JurassicRod nope. A lot of the first Kenner toy line was influenced by the book.
It’s crazy how these creatures just stay still 😮
Can you do the dino tracker t Rex when it comes out please!!!!!!!!!!!!
😘👍🦖
Where had you been for the last 7 mths on after yr last vid. Now 93 rex you appear ya! 😏👍🏼🦖

Any chance you will review the Hammond Collection Rex?
I'd love to but I can't get hold of one. It's really rare and expensive in the UK. I'd have to pay £200 or more to get one shipped from america.

original is still so much better
I disagree, love the brightness
